I agree with Ferrariman with F1. This looks really good and gives you a great idea of speed and the idea of listening to the radio makes you really involved. Knowing Bernie, he would consider PPV with this kind of stuff.
Coulthard had the Helmet try out in his last race but didn't work well for the race because during the Senna 'S' on the first lap, he had a collision with Rosberg(?).
last year there were experiments in Porsche Supercup series (Bernie's companies does the tv production) and then in the Brazilian GP. I think it was Coulthard's helmet that had the camera. Since I dont remember seeing these though.
I thought it was up to the teams? But the video equipment would be extra weight, and the camera could be a safety liability in terms of helmet strength.
The 2009 F1 technical regulations stipulate that all cars must be fitted with at least 4 cameras at all times during the race weekend. They may be fitted on either side of the nose, facing the cockpit, on 1 or both mirrors, on the red or yellow wing over the snorkel above the cockpit, and on either side of the T-wing on the engine cover.
Hope you like my video response , it's a pc game called rFactor ,unfortunately the mod im using doesn't have moving hands but asides from that a great Champcar sim .
Love the comment about half way done keep going. The race engineers in F1 are always telling their drivers that. Or my favorite, telling the driver he needs to get by the car in front of him. NO SHIT...really?! Is that what he's supposed to do? Its not like the drivers are sipping martinis & discussing their stock portfolios with the left front tire changer over the radio...
It's 2003; the running order at the top of the screen is often indicative of which year. Bruno Junqueira inherited the number 1 as the lead driver (over rookie Bourdais) at Newman-Haas in 2003.
I can't tell if he's taking his right hand off the wheel to shift exactly but it looks like it. So, I'd say this is 2006 or earlier. If he's not, it's definitely this year as they are using paddle-shift gearboxes in 2007.
Such an amazing perspective! Why is this view not used more often? It's so entertaining!

I remember when I saw the Visor-cam on David Coulthard's car on his last appearance as a Grand Prix driver.
