  • i listen and play everthing from jazz to death metal to blues to black metal to clean stuff does the prs custom 24 have the ability to be very versitile

  • Can you get the prism finish without buying Al Di's model?

  • if i had my own "custom" custom 24, i'd have the 3way toggle and coil tap knob, but i'd put the toggle right next to the bridge pup where the volume is, and move the volume to the tone, and the tone to where the toggle was. i find myself never messing with those knobs unless i'm between songs messing with the sound, and i switch pups a lot in songs.

  • Dear Chappers, i've never seen any Schecter reviews. I would love to see you do some! Perhaps the Syn Gates custom? I'm dying to see you play it!

  • dude is that a prs satin?????? if so i have the same just single cut! and the same amp!!XP

  • You look a bit like Dave Ghrol =p

  • <3 chappers style :3

  • " It's got bite it's got attack its got GAY" HAHAHAHAHAH 3:55

  • Great demo Rob. If you've got some time, could you give me your opinion about the new blade switch and the new wiring PRS started puting on the instrument? I consider buying a custom 24, and now I think that those new features will take away from its versatility. thanks.

(what do you guys also think?)

  • @Crimsonn21 Dont think it takes away anything in form of versatility, as far as i know at least, wouldnt be the best move made by prs if they took away versatility in their guitars :P

  • @Crimsonn21 I don't think it takes away from versatility at all. Most of the switch combinations are still the same as you would get with their 5 pos. rotary switch or 3 way toggle + coil taps. Its just been transformed into a 5 way blade switch, which in my opinion is WAY easier to use in a live setting/ on the go than the 5 way rotary. Plus the new 59/09 pickups blow the old hfs and vintage bass pickups away in terms of versatility in my opinion. I would definitely not count the new CU24s out.

  • I actually play the SE version of this guitar in my death metal band, just to show how versatile PRS really is. It's insane, they just do everything.

  • Which do you think is a better guitar overall? Custom 24 or SC 245?

  • Chappers o' Chappers...

why did you leave PRS and Orange? :`(

  • okay getting a new amp to live playing or PRS..damn it!

  • i love the sound in the guitar when you play.....but...the loadspeaker named *ORANGE* behind you..Where did you buy them??? or, order them?? do you have a webside where you buy your guitar stuff????? if you dont have a webside or something, how much did one of them cost ???

  • @Cellwrath google it -- DUH!

  • Blooze haha love it xD

  • Those orange amps are to muddy, no spark, I owned a PRS CE and I think the gibson sound's much better

  • If anyone can tell me how the neck is (thick, thin, like a strat, les paul, ibanez) I would be very happy! The neck for me is maybe the most important part of a guitar. Personally I like nice and big necks! Thanks!

  • @LLLGuitar Hello, I had a PRS CE 22 and the neck was very in the middle comftorable, not fat like a GLPstandard! strat is totaly different then PRS. And a Ibanez nahhh, not even close

  • @LLLGuitar Hello, I had a PRS CE 22 and the neck was very in the middle comftorable, not fat like a GLPstandard! strat is totaly different then PRS. And a Ibanez nahhh, not even close...the PRS Mcarty would be perfect for you !!

  • what song is it at 7:20?

  • By not using the stock pickups, this guitar has been effectively ruined.

  • @sargedesign Too you. Not to every one else watching the vid. The pickups in that guitar sound amazing. Get out of the elitist "OH PRS IS AMAZING AND CAN NEVER BE CHANGED"

  • Your chops are fucking insane ;)

Nice tone at the start of the video too, dirty but still has plenty of clarity!

  • Are PRS Custom 24's any good for metal?

  • @arvybindra depending the style

Bando Opeth uses only PRS, including custom 24s, and i personally love their tune

  • @arvybindra Betwee the Buried and Me play Custom 24s, doesn't get much heavier.

  • @arvybindra No

  • So this is what Robb Chappers looks like with shorter hair!

  • @SuperGuitarMark Yeah, without the panty towel he thinks looks so cool now. Apparently someone forgot the story of the naked emperor and his minions who kept telling him how good he looked.

  • hey, do you recommend this guitar in order to play modern rock (not blues or jazz!)

    like billy talent?

    thx

  • how different is the new custom 24 is terms of sound and tone since they've changed wrinings and pickups?(with the 2011 standards)

  • Bought mine this weekend, at world guitars, guitar should be here in 2 days.

Rob, I bought one of the limited 10 top matching headstock guitars, like the one you got from jeff, but in another finish

  • 3:20 - "Yes, I am that awesome."

  • awesome!!!

  • You look kinda like Dave Grohl. I don't know why.

  • ok if this is a prs custom 24 why does it have the prs CE custom 24 (HFS) pickups

  • @RandyFoxKiller Dont all of the 24 series have the same pickups?

  • I would like to know the specs, since it sounds great. Should have put it in the description.

  • PRS are amazing! I cant afford one, so I'm oging to attempt to make one. Not exact but close. never made a guitar before but im going to try! and it will be for about half the price so theres a perk!

  • @wesmrtz16 Just get an SE model until you can get the high-end models. They are really inexpensive for what you get. You can commonly find them used for $400 or even less on ebay.

  • those guitars are damn perfect

  • noisy git.

  • @steptoesaunt noisy amp.

  • What pickups are they? Dimarzios?

  • he looks so calm and happy as he brutally rapes his guitar

  • @MrBowchikawowwow and that my friend is a guitarist. and a legend in his early days.

  • oh great monkey of the forest i have purchased your excelent dvd and someday i shall rule this planet.

  • @RobChappers Hey Rob, I know you have a decent collection of PRS' and ESP's, so for rock music (I play all kinds) which would you reccommend?I'm deciding between this model and an ESP Eclipse 1-CTM I'd probably switch out the pickups for Duncans or Dimarzios anyway, so the pickups aren't a big issue for me. Thanks :)

  • You're fucking awesome man.

  • I didn't get one from Santa. : (

  • 2.57 malmsteen riff!!

  • OMG love the riff at 1:35

    Awsome as usual Chappers.

  • it gives energy

  • Do they have one with a stopbar? I hate tremolos.

  • what is the lick at 1:08 from?

  • HAHAH! "It gives! It gives energy!" HAH!

  • @dimeowns100 "Never fade, never fade orange light" :D

  • the British Petrucci!!! :D

  • If the house next door comes on the market let us know :)

  • For the PRS Experiance custum 24: 3889, for those about to rock! /,,/

  • damn you as well as that guitar are the bee's knees!!!

  • Awesome man, you rock :D Between a PRS Tremonti modell and a Custom 24 what would you recommend?

  • @rustialex the custom 24. the tremonti sounded like shit to me.

  • @strongbad73 thanks man :)

  • Very cool Rob, you rock.

  • I hate to be a pain but I can't decide if I should buy a CU24 or a CU22. I prefer to have 22 frets but is that the only difference between the two? I heard that the neck is different also. Any help?

  • @Division212 if you like 22 frets go with it, but 24 frets means that the heel is thicker i think, so its kinda hard to reach. also the neck pickup is sweeter on the 22 frets cause its closer to the 24 fret harmonic. i have a prs special 22, so if you wanna see something like a 22 fret prs go check it out on my channel :D

  • @DFKMusic Will do. thank you

  • I think having watched your demos of PRS and hearing the tone, along with some other factors from other life places, I wanted to get a PRS. And now I have one: The SE Custom 24 in Red.

  • One word. Sick.

  • hey i wanted to buy some new pickups and my first thought was the prs sound. Im looking for a modern distortion sound out of some prs pickups. i think i might get the HFS treble but im not sure. PLEASE HELP! WHAT PRS PICKUPS SHOULD I GET!? thanks :)

  • i bought mine last saturday:D i got it in black cherry =)

  • @punkiej999 I WANT

  • @punkiej999 black cherry is my fav color that and that aqua marine blue but getting back to the black cherry thats why i WANT private stock #935 lol i waaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt it nowwwwwwwwwww!

cheers good luck w/ that thing gonna keep it in the case or hang it on the wall?

  • @punkiej999 how must did it cost??

  • @punkiej999 22 JUST THUMBS UP YOU they must be wannabe :P

  • OMG it's the city riff!! <3

  • How does the mahogany and maple cap on this compare that esp horizon you had?

  • You look better with Your Hair Short and Shaved Bro! Cheers

  • are those pickups stock?

  • after i saw this vid i clicked the subscribe button like mad!

  • I can't make up my mind between this model or a singlecut. They both have the unique melodic sound of what you expect from a PRS; but to me the singlecut just seems to have a little bit more of a meaty sound. Guess its really down to the style of ax you like. Great playing and very tastefull demo. Keep it up bro.

  • just out of curiousity

how do you come up with the totaly awsome randomc ideas ?

do you write them down or just make it up as you go along ?

  • That is an awesome video showing an even more awesome guitar! I want one so bad... love the tone. Also, LOL 'whats in the cupboard of mystery... Blues!' :P

  • I don't know if this makes any sense but when my little brother is crying I play this video and he stops. he laughs during the chappers cam. don't know if that means anything but thanks you very much for your playing and the orange light :D

  • Dude, that's tone. Very nice. not sure if it's the amp or the pick up. But Good.

  • i like the riff at 2:56 !!!!!

  • i love my custom 22 <3 best guitar ever.

  • @johnodude01 The PRS Tremonti signature kicks the shit out of the custom 22.

  • @mustangcobain65 :/ i disagree. but thats your opinion.

  • The guitar store I go to has this for like $650!!!!

  • @ooberpwnage doubt it!!

  • @jimthepurpledinosaur I saw it and I was like "WTF REALLYYY???" I'm gonna ask them why it's so cheap when I go there tomorrow

  • @ooberpwnage i wish i could find one that cheap

  • IMO Chappers is the best on YT...GREAT playing with great humor! He's got such great info, but keeps it interesting and lighthearted. The world needs laughter and Chappers helps lead the way (for metalheads who seem so serious and angry all the time). I just wonder why you ever left PRS. I'm seriously considering selling my Ibanez RG 2550Z Prestige for the SE Custom 24 25th Anniv...whaddya think? Thanks and carry on Chappers!!!

  • i just propely shrede for the first time ever and my arm is dead

  • Jawsome AC/DC cover XD

  • Hey Rob,

I need some help with my Custom 24, everytime i play a note i am getting A LOT of vibrations/buzzing sounds coming from the tremolo springs and its really pissing me off!

Do you have any idea what is causing it? Any help would be fantastic!

My guitar is an 06 PRS Custom 24

(maybe the springs are just old but i dont know if that would cause it)

    Thanks!

  • @TBS30STM Hey... yeah i have that too but that's since i changed my strings to much thinner ones and didnt adjust the springs.. so yeah that might be it

  • your crazy dude haha. and you resemble john petrucci... kinda haha. but you play like him!

  • You shredded sweet child o mine...

    FUCKING LOVELY!

  • You are sooooo awsome :o

A whole lot of love from Belgium ! :D

  • Very good video!

Try to move the guitar futher away from the mic or crank the volum so we doesn't hear the strings. (If you understands me:P )!

Can you tell me what the difference a Prs Custom 22 and the 24 ?

  • Man...at 1:26.........that was just to much for me. Beautiful.

  • EAR JIZZ!!!

    awesome playing dude!

  • dude ur fucking amazing and that guitar is sick too i live PRS!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • In this video you remind me of Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters

  • Hi Rob,

is the song you're playing at the beginning of the video something you wrote or someone else's song? I'd love to see some tabs for it. Love the progression in it.

  • your playing is amazing man

  • crazy nice guitar, crazier playing

  • lmao XP. "it...it gives...it gives energy.

  • is it also good for tapping?

  • Hey how much does a Orange Rockerverb run?

  • YOUR TONE IS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How much does a PRS like this one cost ? :x

    ( yeah, I totally want one ^^)

  • Like one of the best guitars, period, and I can finally say I own one!

    @Nickelbroken

Do some good searching around, prices are all over the place. If you want one with the 10 top (assuming non artist package), it may cost you around $2500-$3000, new. Though there's also the used market.

  • how did you afford such a nice guitar and an orange amp?

  • whats the beginning song?

  • What is the song at the beggining.

  • hey rob how much is your guitar the one you made it looks awesome and im intrested in saving up for one :D and chappers blues is the best blues :) awesome video

  • wow I love this amp :)

  • two reviews of two awesome pieces of equipment... subscribed!

  • its my dream to have a prs custom 24 in black w/flame top and have a huge amp , and a very good recording system but money is soo hard to get for that stuff ,its totally worth it

  • @BloodlustX90 i meant just a pure black one

  • wow.. prs custom 24 and an orange amp.. this dude's got some cash.

  • @FearCycle Nah. When he made this video he was endorsed by both companies

  • Incredible tone you've got out of that Orange there. +1000 Chappers for being awesome.

  • 3:00 i am a viiiiikiinnnggggg *dun dun dunnn dunuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuhhhh*

  • wow, you realy have good chops on the guitar. versatile to. can i just ask you a couple questions. im in australia, and i wish to one day get a prs Tremonti signature cause mark trmeonti is one of my favorite players. along with orianthi santana, steve morse. all those people. but can you do a demo on the prs tremonti? and also. how long have you been playing guitar and what did u study and how did u study?

  • i love your technique. you're the man monkey lord!

  • What is better this guitar or a Gibson Studio Les Paul?

  • are you kidding? this is a 3000 dollar guitar your talking about a 1000$ guitar max in the studio, not even close, I own a 2500$ desert burst gibson and its nice but nothing like my prs swamp ash special or my prs standard 24. Gibson's are hand crafted so every once in a while you'll get a great one but every prs is awesome, they have the snap of a strat and the grit of a paul with sustain and warmth.

  • @willeng84 What the hell, all Gibsons are CNCed on all models except the custom shops, sorry to burst your bubble

  • @danukenator123 No machinery, other than a band saw, helps with neck cutting — another important job in the rough mill. Steady hands and watchful eyes are the most crucial tools in this job, which transforms long blocks of wood called neck blanks into the eventual home of fingerboards and wire. A thin trough is cut down the back of these raw necks and a truss rod gets installed in each one. This is ripped from the Gibson USA Site. I was talking about the neck angle and how it meets the body.

  • @willeng84 watch the factory tour, there are cnc machines

  • @danukenator123 I know I agree with u also, Im just saying in my experience PRS's seem to be more uniform guitar to guitar where as some gibsons will be incredible whereas others will just be ok. But i agree with you also

  • @willeng84 I'm Sorry I interpreted your first comment as "all Gibson are great" I agree 100% with what you actually meant.

  • If only my parents would have brought me a 3,000 dollar guitar as my first.

  • Awesome playing but i think PRS are really overated. PRS are compared to ESP and if you ask me, ESP all the way. I payed just over 2000 British pounds for my PRS custom 24 and i ended up selling it so i could get my hands on an ESP eclipse with the floyd rose. Great playing though man.

  • your an idiot...PRS compared to ESP? They don't even fit in the same genre styles.

Even so PRS ALL THE FREAKIN WAY!

  • @BLEED2HARD

I was looking for an ESP Eclipse aswell but then I found the SC 245. If your into metal you could get either guitar, but the PRS is definately a more versatile peice of equiptment.

  • Dude, everything about your playing is amazing. Id really like to know how much the Custom 24 is because im a 15 year old kid and I'm looking for a new guitar. Id really appreciate a response. and im so jealous of your students, they're so lucky learning from someone as talented as you.

Please dont think im just sucking up to you haha, I genuinely love your playing especially the blues section, that was sick :)

    please respond :D

  • PRS Custom 24 runs around 3500.00 US.

  • @L0stH3r0 they just came out with the 25th annaversary one and its 665 dollars. i really wish i had 665 dollars.

  • @L0stH3r0

they are about $2000-$3500 USD or roughly 1000- 2000 gbp. thats a very rough estimate. if you want a PRS like i did when i was 15, i recommend you buy Hal Leanard guitar method books 1, 2 and 3, and take lessons. once you can play those books inside and out and play on time a music school will hire you for guitar playing, then you teach and by the time your 18 you will be an awesome guitar player and an owner of a PRS and some good amps.

  • @L0stH3r0

you do what i did you play 4 hours every day and do more teaching than was legal with the united states child labor laws lol.

  • @L0stH3r0 well it depends on where you live, but in aus, my PRS custom 22 10 top cost about $6,500. if your from the states id imagine they'd be around the 3-4.5 K mark. so worth it though. best guitar you'll ever have.

  • @L0stH3r0 a custom 24 is about 3,000 dollars ;D

  • @L0stH3r0 there about $2700 dude...

  • @L0stH3r0 A PRS Custom 24 is around £2,000.

  • @L0stH3r0 Your not gay? The Custom 24's are 3000 dollars.

  • @mustangcobain65 what the hell is that supposed to mean? I was showing my appreciation for what he's bringing to the lives of his students.

  • saw this video when it first came out. been keeping up with the lord since. this video made me buy my prs and put the OR50 on my wishlist. pre-ordered the ML1 a month ago thanks for inspiring me chappers

  • lovely stuff.

  • So, who would like to tell me what that little riffage is from at 3:00?? im dying to know, sounds wicked, as well as familiar

  • I am a viking. Yngwie J. Malmsteen. I play it all the time.

  • wow,its on not seeing the ponytail.

    you look way tired here

  • how much did you pay for this amazing guitar? oh and and you're a very good player man ;) thank you!

  • That riff at 1:34 is nuts

  • Comment removed

  • Very nice use of pinch harmonics.

    Are you improvising?

    AMAZING.

    *subscribes*

  • @ZomBLord Thanks mate ;-)

  • @RobChappers This intro in the beginning sounds so awesome.

Whats the name of this Song?

  • @318825768 thats his song "bleed the light"

  • Great Demo!

  • i think this guy ment to play a prs..

  • How is intonation on this guitar? Im kidding offcourse:P

  • sick tone

  • Hi. What guage are u playing with?

  • this guy has an awesome playing style

  • Comment removed

  • I don't have the money to purchase an American PRS. But instead i've purchased an PRS SE Tremonti with original American Pickups for about 800 Euro's. It sounds absolutely amazing !!!!! The Tremonti treble pickup is the loudest pickup that PRS has to offer. So check it out !

  • actually the loudest pickups they offer are the sc250s

  • check again.

  • Tremonti and SC250 PUPs have same output

  • Tu non sai fare BLUES !!!!!!!

  • oh fuck, awesome sound!
