My point is that you bring up the Gracie family trying to say that their style is better and that he got a "free BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU class." Well, he's beat many BJJ fighters, including Royler Gracie in what was an evenly matched fight.

If you're talking style versus style, you can't introduce things like a 5" height difference and a 30 lb weight difference.

- The style that always wins? No, because more mixed martial arts champions have wrestling / muay thai experience than BJJ experience.

- Perhaps when you say "the true style" you mean the one that's been around the longest? No, most martial arts have a longer history than BJJ. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is just a hybrid. It's aim was to take the best of judo and traditional japanese jiu jitsu.

Amazing skills man. People forget to mention his anti-grappling skills. To be the best grappler you have to be able to defend against the best, ie royler gracie failing to submit him. If Genki wants it on the ground he'll take it there, if he wants it on his feet he'll keep it there. Reminiscent of Mr. Sakuraba. The Japanese dedication means that they grapple with styles outside of BJJ in order to have the best possible grappling skills. Jesus, this man could Gi choke you in a no-Gi contest haha

I saw the match. I think, Genki thought the spining kick was aimed for a body shot. Maybe it was just a lapse in judgment. It really doesn't show definitive proof he couldn't have defend against it in other matches.

Actually I've rolled with a couple of these guys and they are animal. A couple compete in King of the Cage and one won his division at grapplers quest... but Genki Sudo is Genki Sudo... I can't wait to fight him!!!
