The video poster's comments say that this style of music was, "only in retrospect tagged 'goth'." This is absolutely not true...at least in Southern California, we used the term Goth to describe this style of fashion and music when I was a teen in the mid-80s. There was even a variation of Goth called New Romantic (or New Ro for short).

i think batcave would be a more representitive label, i'd this is too experimimental and extravert. but the lines often blur in early goth. i guess that's why people come up with terms like "glam-horror postpunk", it's a way of not stepping on anyones toes.

Maybe its just me,but as someone who participates in the subculture I see the style as more than just wearing black. Specimen is deathrock, &has a very punk, diy style. Marilyn manson wears clothes that look like they came out of hot topic and were made in a factory, like those silly uniforms he wears. Maybe my taste is just more refined, but yeah I see no similarity in style (perhaps I see it as more than wearing black which is also incorrect.) &by style I mean also the substance, the ambience.
