  • Süpēr!

  • fint gevär! är du från Norge?

  • @hardwear10 Takk takk! Joda, jeg er fra Norge :P

  • Bra video! :-)

  • Im gonna try to buy one, if I cant....the M48 will have to do, eventough I really want a piece of SS-Gebirgsjager history.

  • They can be quite expensive, I paid $1090 for it, and in the US, they can reach as high as $1500. It is a real nice piece of history, and an experience to shoot :)

  • Very good video, thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks :)

  • Thank you for the translation too, otherwise I would be lost ;-)

  • I had to translate it , most YouTube users do not understand Norwegian, and I am aware of that:-)

  • Yes, this YouTuber wouldn't have understood what you were saying that's for sure, and I thought you were speaking German, shows you what I know. So how much did that rifle cost you if you don't mind my asking? You mentioned it's use by police, it looks as though it was reblued at one point, is this the case or am I mistaken?

  • My dialect is a very special one from Western Norway, it`s not what "standard issue Norwegians" use. As a fact, I actually speak German too, so you could have been right :-) I had to pay quite a lot for it: 6500 Norwegian Kroner (about $1090,) but I have to say that I was absolutely flabbergasted when I saw it, and being a G33/40, I thought "oh what the hell." It might have been reblued at some point, but some places it seems like it has not been reblued, so I am left in the dark on that one :P

  • Very nice, I paid $1500 for mine and like you when I realized what it was I had no problems paying that much because of it's rarity and condition.

I have a 1938, 27 code Luftwaffe K98K coming in tomorrow, it's serial # is under 100, a really nice piece. Infact I have a new video I'm working on in which I discuss a bit about getting started in collecting mil-surp rifles, the K98K of WWII in particular and the varying grades I put them into and what markings to look for etc.

  • Some people think I`m crazy to spend so much money on an old rifle, but the way I see it, if I have the interest, and the chance to own a unique piece of history, then why not?

Sounds like a very nice rifle, especially since its a Luftwaffe issue!! The rifles with the 27 code and the year 1938 were made by Erfurter Maschinenfabrik ( ERMA ).

I really like the bolt action rifles of WW1 and WW2. I am now looking for a K98k in 7,92 as original, but those can be difficult to find in Norway.

  • No, your not crazy at all, it's a passion and if you appreciate the history behind the weapon and the history of the company making the weapon it's a win win. I collect alot for investment reasons, some folks have told me I'm crazy too, but you only live once ;-)

So finding a K98K in 8mm is hard in your country? Why so? Were a vast majority rechambered? I would think finding them, even Russian Captures in 8mm would be a piece of cake.

  • The majority of K98k left in Norway by the Germans were rebarreled to accommodate the slighty longer US 30-06 Springfield round in the late 1950 when they started to ran out of German ammo, although som used by the Norwegian Navy retained the German caliber, as did most of those used by the Norwegian coastal artillery. I don`t think I have ever seen a Russian capture K98k for sale here..... So, how was your Luftwaffe rifle? Satisfied with it?

  • Got the Luftwaffe K98k, really pleased, will do a detailed video soon.

  • Thanks for the additional information, surprised the Russian Captures don't show up on your parts, they are all over the place in the US.

  • awesome video! Keep up the good work :D

  • Vielen Dank! :)

  • nice rifle

  • Thanks! :)

  • Svær stikkflamme...Hvorfor....

  • Jeg er ikke helt sikker, men jeg regner med at det er fordi den har så kort løp......løpet er sikkert så kort at flammen ikke har rukket å dø ut før den kommer ut munningen.
