I can't believe that. It's was one picture and one caption. This and others like it are designed to not have to spend a lot of time looking at it. Dead monkey, stimulus bill. I didn't hear about this cartoon until this morning 3/29/2009. The only meaning I could get out of this was the Obama presidency writing a stimulus bill and a monkey being killed after mauling a woman means someone else have to write one. How could anyone not see this. Including the mayor. "It wasn't about me"?
The cartoon is NOT racist, and if the american people understood how their own government worked they wouldn't have this problem. Listen: The President does NOT write bills, Congress does. The President only signs or vetoes the bills THEY write. Therefore the chimp cannot be Obama! But people are so racially sensitive they see racism in everything.
In fact, if you automatically assumed the chimp to be Obama, what does that say about your own thought processes. Think about it.
I really think that he was implying that the NY Post is ignorant & aren't worth his time, thus, no comment was necessary to be made, What can you expect, after all, it's the tabloid New York Post. I beleive that that was what he was saying b/c he seems to be a fair mayor to me. Peace
