Whatever Grandmaster Caz says (and he has a point, as does the writer of Good Times), they are the original rappers. Guys like Melle Mel can whine that this isn't "hardcore street rap," but these guys loved the genre as much as the street rappers of the late 70s did, and they made rap a viable business option. Caz deserves his cut, but he wouldn't get a cut at all if it weren't for these 3 brilliant guys. It's not so much creating something, it's recognizing its potential.
