you have to impress him in all gaiden 7 stages how to do that:

WU

defeat Tadakatsu, run to the north eastern garrison and defeat him again within threee minutes, than win the battle.

SW

make sure the messenger reches the north eastern garrison unharmed, than WAIT for the reinforcements to arrive, THAN defeat masamune date

SHU

save ALL peasants, don't let even one of them die

WEI

save all of tadakatsus son's

You can get the 'Cavalry' ability which allows you to start the battle riding on a horse. Depending on your Cavalry level (1 to 10) you ride different horses. Cavalry level 10 lets you start with either the Red Hare (For Dynasty Warriors characters) or Matsukaze (For Samurai Warriors characters).

dw3 was my fav just b/c of the scenery and the level layouts, it was pretty kick ass, but dw5 idr remember that much, i say you should get dynasty warriors 6 =P but you won't have much luck getting rare horses...i'd go do research before choice making

If you actually noticed, Koei actually made Tadakatsu stronger than Lu Bu.

Tadakatsu is physically stronger, hence the fact that his Tonbo-giri is legendary and also much larger.

He, historically was brave and not overconfident in his abilities.

but i still think lu bu is better because he fought against more mighty warriors such as guan yu,zhang fei, zhou yun. i think that honda can match zhang fei but can be defeated by lu bu

No character in this game really benefits much from Ice, once elements and stats are maxed out.

Because of the Bolt element, most characters can guarantee that 1.6 damage multiplier with the Air element because Bolt gets officers off their feet. Most characters then, when played correctly can have a 100% chance of dealing extra damage after the first charge attack.

With Ice however, you have a 40% chance of getting 1.6 benefit after the first charge attack

Not because of habitual reasons, but because there's always a small chance of getting a good Demon element weapon. Even though most characters aren't best with Demon weapons, these weapons are so rare, that it is well worth showing off.
