hey man i got a question. im building a 383 stroker right now and got a little confused since i cant seem to find parts just specifically for the stroker, so when you built it did you just have the timing parts like the cam and everything just specifically for the 400 to work the throw? and the then the manifold and heads like that for the 350? or do they actually just make parts specifcally for the stroker and im just not looking in the right places to find them?
The only 400 parts you will need are the external balancer preff 8 inch. it will have a cut out weight on it. Also, you will need a 400 flywheel, or research what is called a "hatchet head" It is a piece of sheet metal that goes between the crank and flywheel to create the external balance. heads, intake and all of that can be from the 350. try jegs.com for a 383 crankshaft. it is around 200 dollars for that. also, i re-used the same old 5.7 length stock rods from 350
Actually I have no idea. I wish I knew now. I was too cheap at the time to pay my uncle the extra 200 dollars to dyno it after he did the machine work. My closest guess would be 425 to 475, but who knows maybe it is close to 500, I'm just not sure. LOL!!
its a 400 smallblock chev crank refitted into a 4 bolt main block the stroke on a 350 chev is 3.48. a stroker crank is 3.75 and instead of a 4.00 inch bore it is 4.030. bore or more
that is the most beautiful engine compartment i have ever seen, and this is comparing to all the show cars out there

What kinda piston do you use on a 383? is it 400 pistons, 350 pistons. or do you have to have custom 383 pistons with lower compression height?

Think a 383 stroker will fit in a 01 Chevy Impala?
