I like this band because the songs aren't all (some still are) dark and gothic and overdone, many of them have morale-boosting or positive tones on them too. The Wild Chase and Holy Fire are best examples. I got sick of Nightwish after a couple of songs even though they aren't really bad- I just hate all the darkness and stuff.

I have not heard what EB's plans are for new album yet.

@daniser87 Angels Fall First was not recorded as AN OFFICIAL ALBUM, it was a DEMO.Emmpu and Jukka were in the ARMY and Tarja was enrolled in music school.It was a demo self produced as an interest/project between them while they toyed with the idea of becoming a band.Spinefarm records picked it up late 97 and they did 7 gigs. Oceanborn was released December 98 still as a "hopeful" uncertainty. It had some local success (Finland). This prompted them to go forward as an official band.
@daniser87 Edenbridge was a group for a little longer but without Sabine. Technically they both released their professional debut albums in 98. We both had valid points from a perspective.I have actually been working on a production team to bring EB to the USA. I tell you, it was Toumas Holopainen that put me onto this band.I work around most of these people and a lot of what I get about them comes from them.Some is obviously "official" versions.I only work here, and do my best to support them.

@MTLNCK52 I was working on an some playlists recently featuring symphonic genre bands and was obviously including Pink Floyd.I advertantly I got into a bizzare band war when I mentioned that there were some bands equal to or better than PF.After this went on for a couple weeks, I DARED PEOPLE TO FIND EDENBRIDGE; Arcana and then comment.WELL, many did this challenge and the war was over.I was swamped with great comments about them.Coming from PK devotees that was a major event. Amberian Dawn too.

I HATE TO TELL ALL YOU COMPLAINERS...THIS BAND WAS WHY TUOMAS STARTED NIGHTWISH! Edenbridge is 2 years older than Nightwish and if you listen to EARLY NW like Getsemane, you'll hear some obvious influence.One sad thing about this band, they dont seem to come accross overly well on the live videos. If you listen to them on album version videos, they are great.They have a recent pro vid that sounds good, but has bubbles floating down and distracts you from video.Sadly,they are'nt a "video band".

I like this band. Just I wish the guitarists didn't use signature guitars (Gilbert/Vai). I dunno... maybe they enjor its sound, but I'd argue that many other Ibanez guitars have the same sound for this style of play. Oh ya.... the singer is an angel :O

Damn, she's ugly. The drummer needs to drop the double bass because it slows the entire pace down. Bassist has a crappy technique. Only thing I liked here was the lead guitar player. I thought this was a very average song and a very average performance... kind of pointless.

@SwanSong158 lol I can tell this is probably the only song by Edenbridge you listened to. This is not a Nightwish rip-off, Edenbridge is mainly a symphonic metal band. Their songs sound very dreamy and melodic and ya, they do have a couple power metal songs like Nightwish but the important fact is that they aren't copying anything, they do their stuff which is awesome and very singular. I mean, if I listen to random gothic/symphonic groups, I can easily recognise these guys songs.
My first exposure to Sabine was through the Beto Vasquez album Infinity. I liked what I heard and thought I should check her "home" group out.
They're all talented, but I wish they would mix things up. Allow her more vocal versatility and make music of more varying speeds. Please? There's so much potential...
if you do not know many genres such as the death metal in the case of the banda arch enemy of the genders and this will be indicated as the lyrics, the voices of the singers and more additions so that you can not compare are not equal in the group also always a better female vocalist than a man.

Nightwish got me into Neo-Classical Metal in the first place. I started to branch out to Beto Vasquez Infinity, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Visions of Atlantis, etc.
But as a lead guitarist in my band, I have to say the guitar work on here is far and away MANY levels better than most of those bands...
Yeah, Lanvall is a great guitarist.. and if I as a singer say that - you can take that for granted ´cause it takes time till I recognize a real good guitarist :-)
I just got done watching and favoriting shine and these two videos are my first time ever hearing of this band. I'm not trying to offend any long time fans but I was wondering if this band was in the same genre as dragonforce.
They're related genres. Edenbridge is a progressive symphonic metal. (A type of epic metal.) Some might say Goth metal, because of the vocals. Dragonforce is a progressive speed metal/epic speed metal. So the connection is the 'epic' meaning they tend to use broad harmonic 4ths and 5ths, and complex interconnecting runs, coupled with multiple major/minor shifts. In practice the resulting sound is quite different, but you make the decision for yourself. :)
symphonic power metal, same genre as bands like Nightwish, Rhapsody (of fire) etc so yeah, kinda similar(but not exactly the same if one should be bitchy about it), but this band can atleast play ther tunes live (unlike dragonforce)

You know what it is nightwish was one of the first band that made metal collide with a classical female trained voice. And people compare every band that came after them. And not thinking that it is great that if you love nightwish that you can listen to so many other bands. And personal I think within temptation is better than nightwish if I may compare lol.
Someone recommended this band to me since I'm a huge fan of Epica & Within Temptation. I don't know how they could have thought it was anywhere near the above mentioned bands. the lead singer is TERRIBLE. She's constantly off key and has HORRIBLE vocal technique. I'm sticking with Epica

this is certainly one of the best Edenbridge songs. As for the comparison between them and nightwish, I find Nightwish to be more consistant in their songwriting, though I would have to say Lanval may be a slightly better guitarist.
I love Sabine's voice, it is so unusual <3.

lol You're fucking retarded, if Arch Enemy is the only example you can think of, you're truly a helpless fool, I mean Angela Gossow is a good vocalist, but if you compare her to a male death metal vocalist she sounds very high pitched and almost shitty. If your going to use an example of a women who can REALLY give men some compitition, check out the girl from Thorr's Hammer, Demonic Christ, and Estuary. Anyway, there is no musical rule that says girls can't sing in a metal band.

Nightwish got me into Neo-Classical Metal in the first place. I started to branch out to Beto Vasquez Infinity, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Visions of Atlantis, etc.
But as a lead guitarist in my band, I have to say the guitar work on here is far and away MANY levels better than most of those bands...
The guitar intro on this song gave me goosebumps!

They're related genres. Edenbridge is a progressive symphonic metal. (A type of epic metal.) Some might say Goth metal, because of the vocals. Dragonforce is a progressive speed metal/epic speed metal. So the connection is the 'epic' meaning they tend to use broad harmonic 4ths and 5ths, and complex interconnecting runs, coupled with multiple major/minor shifts. In practice the resulting sound is quite different, but you make the decision for yourself. :)

symphonic power metal, same genre as bands like Nightwish, Rhapsody (of fire) etc so yeah, kinda similar(but not exactly the same if one should be bitchy about it), but this band can atleast play ther tunes live (unlike dragonforce)

You know what it is nightwish was one of the first band that made metal collide with a classical female trained voice. And people compare every band that came after them. And not thinking that it is great that if you love nightwish that you can listen to so many other bands. And personal I think within temptation is better than nightwish if I may compare lol.

Someone recommended this band to me since I'm a huge fan of Epica & Within Temptation. I don't know how they could have thought it was anywhere near the above mentioned bands. the lead singer is TERRIBLE. She's constantly off key and has HORRIBLE vocal technique. I'm sticking with Epica

I second Epica and Nightwish. Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil bore me to tears. Female vocalist good metal bands: After Forever, Leaves Eyes, Lunatica, Magica, Nightwish, Angtoria, Epica, Legenda Aurea, also try Therion, they use operatic female vocals sometimes.

this is certainly one of the best Edenbridge songs. As for the comparison between them and nightwish, I find Nightwish to be more consistant in their songwriting, though I would have to say Lanval may be a slightly better guitarist.

And please, don't compare Tarja to Sabine. Are they from the same band? No. They are both amazing singers in their own ways.
