  • There appears to be a minor error. At 1:14, you stated that Princess Irene's father had announced her engagement in 1927. King Konstantinos died in 1923.

  • @granddukedavell Thanks and sorry. I didn't notice this mistake, I have read too quickly The Times article about her first engagement. It was her brother George II who announced the engagement. Thanks again.

  • For a short time she was Queen of Croatia.

  • How tall was she?

  • @cc1945 I don't know exactly. But looking the picture with her sister in law Anne (2:14) who was 6' (1,80 - 1,83 m), I think between 5'5 and 5'7 (1,65 and 1,70 m)

  • @lostsplendour If her sister-in-law was 6-0 and both of them wore shoes with the same heel height in that picture, then I'd say Irene was 5-7 or 5-8. I thought she might have been around 5-10 from a picture (likely taken along with the picture at 0:50) taken with her sister and female cousins in which they all lined up by height order. That means the Greek princesses of that generation were not very tall (even though some of those in that picture were not fully grown yet).

  • @cc1945 the Orléans princesses (Hélène and Anne) and the Aosta (Amedeo and his joke about "Sua altezza reale") were very tall.

  • wow, the music.. perlman can make the violin talk. what a talent. never a beauty but always so elegant. i remember reading of her death. i assume the son is still alive. thank you for posting thhis one.
