Some of the comments here make me think of someone who is climbing up a stairwell and one or two stairs are missing. So they are dumbfounded as to how to reach the next flight.
His main talent is cleverly disguising the fact that he's not a very accomplished musician. I once knew someone who was illiterate, but was a genius at disguising the fact. This is similar.
There is a massive difference between someone that does not know what they are doing and someone that understands and uses their instrument to create sonic ideas that no other human being on this planet could think up
With all repect to the people that admire this guy, there is not an ounce of musicality in anything he does. It is just semi-sequenced noise.
Anyone who plays guitar knows he's just randomly striking the guitar to get a sound. His two-handed tapping is a joke - just about anyone can move opposing LH / RH fingers in syncrony. Yeah, so he does it in a basic rhythm to give a percussive sound, but he's bluffing everyone by making it look like he's concentrating on where his fingers are going !
Oh my, what delicate nuances and precise control of his instrument. He fabricates intricate subtle balances between sonic abstract and solid substantial foundations all blended cohesively through rough textures of integrated passages of fresh and powerful resonant vibrations.
I cried several times through out this deeply moving composition.
is very difficult to create another new forms for Tríos and Ensemble..In this case I prefer you work " Suspension of disbelief ".Anton is more better for Lounge Lizards, Golden Palomino or Massacre not for direct noise. You need a Jim Black, Tom Rainey in last case Chris Cutler.
Melvin is learning quickly this language only he has that to find more sound,more texture,intensity,versatilite for changes of rhythym. Good document.Thanks Roberto..
@purpureox This doesn't have much to do with noise. He is using a small set of pitch relationships over and over throughout this piece. The way he quickly manipulates the timbre of his playing is incredible also though.

Elliott Sharp has been dumping this crap on the public for decades now. It's some of the worst garbage ever foisted on the public. And here's the big secret: Sharp KNOWS it's all bullshit. He just barfs out whatever sounds occur as he moves his fingers around. He knows this is bullshit, but as long as the same 10 people keeping paying for his records, he soldiers on.
Really, one wishes the government would step in and regulate him. He won't stop this nonsense unless he's forced to.
Are you seriously sugesting that the goverment should regulate him????? Are you insane??? If you don´t like it don´t hear it....the goverment should stop making wars around the globe, NOT regulate artists.....my good lord.

Sharp's music is beautiful, very spacious and moody. If you can't hear it and cannot find the great patterns in it, it is your problem and your lack of sensitivity. It's like saying that Picasso didn't know how to paint and how to portrait people.
The idea to regulate art just because it is too difficult for the masses is purely fascist.

Its absolutely stupid anyone can do noise, i wanna see them arrange those notes in a way it sounds good to the ear, this is bullshit, i just want to take a dump in his guitar and see if it sounds better
noise isent about if it "sounds good to the ear" its about expression and art its about breaking away from the generic over played crap that every band dose over and over agine its about being different...starting something new
