It our young brothas & sistahs only knew & understood their history. They wouldn't be in the state they're in today. We went from lookin fresh and having fly girls to thug bummish and bitches & hoes. WTF?!
What you dont understand is Thugs, bitches, and yes hoes were not only around during that time but basically originated then too, only now that its gotten "popular" people choose to ridicule, but no offence or hate twoards you, I despise the state hip hop, R&B, rap, hell even rock is in. Its disgusting. Its almost not even woth listening to exept for a select section of artists that keep it real.
@Nikafiend Hey Nikafiend. I fully understand the dynamics of the community I grew up in as well as the culture of my people. My description and commentary on the state of hip hop is based solely on its origins an its effect in the streets over the past 4 decades. I'm not a young person. The element of certain elements in the Black community has ALWAYS been there. There was a great divide once upon a time between the bad/wantabees & your common people of the community.
The video clip is cut short. I remember this freestyle like it was yesterday: "The mission, to make emcees feel the wrath So here's a paragraph, written on behalf of the ruler, dictator, lord and ambassador Makin a massacre, you couldn't last through a round of combat, where my left arm's at My mouth with the mic in my hand from my attack I shake and bake or fake a snake Take em and make em ache and flake, I break like an earthquake When I erupt, MC's I corrupt, to be blunt I'ma tear shit up"
you're right on point with that,@alexbruno1974

Errrrr this "freestyle" is actually Mister Cee's verse from "down the line" off the taste of chocolate LP
Anyone reckon that Kane wrote the verse for Cee then?
