Final Fantasy VII - Limit Breaks: Red XIII

im making a clay version of red xiii as a christmas gift for my brother, does he have the same markings on both sides?

For leveling up the limit breaks,

when I want to have level 3 limit break (kill 80 enemies), is it a must to equip level 2 limit break instead of level 1 limit break?

(of course I have learnt two limit breaks in level 2)

@Siva6742 How you unlock limits is as such: Level 1 Limits Limit 1: Start off with Limit 2: Use Limit 1 8 times. Level 2 Limits Limit 3: Kill 180 enemies with this character with Level 1 Limits on. Limit 4: Use Limit 3 8 times. Level 3 Limits Limit 5: Kill 180 enemies with this character with Level 2 Limits on. Limit 6: Use Limit 5 8 times. Level 4 Limts Limit 7: Have all Limits 1-6 and use the item to unlock the limit for this character. That's how I was told it works and it seems to for me.

@cloudad This is a old reply but doesn't hurt to respond, Its not a glitch, you just hit the kill count for howling moon before using blood fang enough to get stardust ray.

My game has the glitch where even if Red knows all his limit breaks, the item for Cosmo memory doesn't work on him... :(

I don't know, but Stardust Ray and Earth rave appear to be the best limits from Red I think...

red XIII is the first to find his level 4 limit break in the progression of the game

To get the second limit break within a lvl, e.g. Lunatic high, Stardust Ray, then you have to perform the first one in that category a certain number of times. To get the next level Limit break, e.g. Blood Fang, Howling Moon, you need to finish off a certain number of enemies. Cosmo memory you find in a safe in Shinra mansion in Nibelheim. In order to apply it, you need to have all the others already.

i finally figured it out... you need to use blood fang 8 times to get starlight ray or something like that... then you have all previous 6 limit levels.... then you can teach him cosmo memory... it took me fucking 2 weeks to figure this out lol

they should have at least implemented FFA and texture filters on the graphics and that would have made it look much more detailed, or at least, smooth and pretty while not involving too much work.

i personally do not like FF characters to look too real. I stopped playing at FF9 because of that reason, but i love the rest.

red xiii is a cool cat and i like playing as beasts or monsters.

Ok I don't get it. I've had all over Red's limit breaks for the longest time, but I can't teach him cosmo memory??? I've gone through about 20 or 30 levels since I've had them all, like why can't I teach him it yet?

isn't cosmo memory an item? i have an item that says "cosmo memory" and it is meant to teach that to a character. i tried it on everyone except for Red. so maybe...

There's no reason to give Red Cosmo Memory. Cool effects, but it only hits once, and the rest of strong limit breaks tend to hit several times.

you have to do their limit breaks a certain amount of time before unlocking the next one cept for the fourth ones you have to do something specific if i can recall

Yeah Barret's Lv limit is in Midgar when your there the last time right before you fight Hojo. But the catch is it only appears if Barret is in your party, and is your only chance. Sorry

i think earth rave is the strongest limit when fighting bosses, because even though cosmo memory attacks all opponents, when only fighting 1 enemy it isnt very effective =/ but earth rave does multiple hits and exceeds over 9999 damage =]

Totaly agree! I always use Red XIII, and I have beaten every chalenge possible in the game so his limit doesnt matter. Talking of that, if you get enough power sources Stardust will do a hell of a damage. Earth rave is great to. But like you say, the character is just so cool and I love having him along on the ride!

Limits aside, Red XIII is also the best magic user besides Aeris. So if you want a strong mage in your party (as most people tend to) then it's best to go with Red XIII.

That's just my opinion anyway.

And if you don't end up liking Cosmo Memory then you can always switch back to any of his other limits whenever you like.

i like stardust!! if only his last limit did multiple damage =D I have suprisingly replace cait sith with Red! And let me tell you he is not half bad! At the begining of the game his dice can cheat, and the slot limit is all about luck duh but its stronger than a regular summon. I did Knight of the round with his limit =o

The only problem with Cait Sith is his low defense and luck factor, but loading him with luck materia helps out. He is a great and largely overlooked character.

I actually pick my party based on their weapons and armor. If they can carry more materia or can gain x2 or x3 AP, then they're in. Trying to max out my materia in this playthru ^^
