  • Radiohead you need to tour.

  • man I was so close I didnt even know they where displaying the lyrics .. awsome!

  • @wilsonelmalo dude i just realized that too.

  • im gonna be at the next american music festival that has radiohead in the lineup

  • I still get chills when I see this video. It was the best concert moment ever. I seriously had tears in my eyes for the first 4 minutes. Can't wait to see Radiohead again!

  • seeing this concert changed my life.

  • It was incredible!

  • great concert. Too bad the band wagon fans kept me from moving up to the front...lol they only knew the words to the last two albums... Other than that, it's been one of best concerts i've ever been to.

  • fucking PERFECT timing for the accidental fireworks lol!!

  • What a beautiful evening.

  • is perfect

  • were the fireworks synced?

  • @killtheswitch...actually, I found out the following day in the paper that the fireworks were from a baseball game some blocks down!.. its just the magic of the Universe my friend..

  • @earthtone101 No way ! really ? i thought it was part of the show. It was awesome though !

  • was right up front with my bro.. it was a GREAT fucking night..... we went bar hoping in chitown after... looking for the bands... CHITOWN is the best- movin down there soon I hope!!!!

  • one more. chitown.

  • Fan Appreciation Night at soldier field, That seems a bit odd seeing as it wasn't football season.. I think it may have been a coincidence but those fireworks were pretty spot on in location right behind the stage

  • likewise, my friend, i was 10 rows out,

moment like this might never be recreated

FYI - fireworks were because of Fan Appreciation Night at Soldier Field down the road

  • 00i 0cant fucken hear

  • the fireworks weren't even from the same event, but they were very conscious fireworks and knew what they had to do.

  • best concert of my goddamn life.

  • @rollingstoneyo totally agree man, I was in a purely blissful state of mind at this concert and probably will never get to that level again

  • @rollingstoneyo I agree with you 1,000%. That night was absolutely amazing!

  • watching this shit took me right back to the concert.

i was about forty yards in front of this very spot! best concert moment of my life. thanks.

  • the fireworks came from the bears family day. perfect timing.

  • so in awe? how about so high?

  • ive never been so in awe

  • what a perfect night

  • I couldn't hear or see these fireworks from my distance : ) didn't need them

  • Lollapalooza needs to learn how to turn up their speakers. People talking at normal volume can be heard perfectly. That isn't how live music should be.

  • think about how far away they are from the stage where i was I couldnt even hear what I said

  • What do you expect them to do? Make it loud enough for all of Chicago to hear? What a dumbass.

  • dude i was 10 feet away for radiohead. had to camp out all day in the hot sun and survive those crazy gogol fans. worth it though.

  • I agree.. gogol fans almost trampled me to death

  • i dont remember the words scrolling at the end of the song

  • Radiohead. Fireworks. Lightning in the distance. Warm with the occasional breeze. Chicago. Awesome night.

  • this was the most amazing night of my life thank you soooooooooooo much for this video

  • agreed....so spectacular in everyway

  • retards yelling in the middle of the song. Shut the hell up.

  • I was there up near the front :D

On Thursday, believe it or not, I ran into Thom on Michigan Avenue near the bridge. We talked briefly, he said he was looking for a razor so he could shave. Looked like he still hadn't found one by the time he played :P

  • yea i was tripping on boomers and i was peaking at this point insane

  • No place like Chicago in the summer NO PLACE

  • Best Summer City in the world really

  • @southloopsoxfan theres no place LIKE it...but there are better places! :P ...coughSEATTLEcough....

  • my girlfriend and i started working our way into the thick of the crowd while gogol bordello played his last 2-3 songs. it was tough but we managed to get within about 15 feet of the stage. packed like sardines in a crushed tin box. with 70,000 people behind us, and the fireworks, and the gorgeous cityscape behind us... fantastic. it was my 3rd time seeing radiohead, and was by far one of the best shows i have ever seen (i had missed them at bonnaroo, and the dc show was a monsoon).

  • You're girls got some balls.. The crowed went ape shit for gogol. thats when I made my move to the front.

  • crazy concert...lolla is the best thing to ever happen... really tho, you have to learn how to get good spots..we would show up about five to ten minutes before the concert and get spots about 20 yards from stage.

  • DID ANYONE SEE THE CRAZY TRIPPY CLOUD? It was like the size of downtown and it came really low. Best fucking night ever!

  • yeah it got a lot nicer out when the clouds blocked that goddamn sun. i was on the left side of the main stage and it was fuckin BRIGHT!!!

  • i feel like im missing a leg not being there anymore, over a month later. i am still wearing my lolla braclet and ill really feel naked when it falls off. i was 20 ft from this stage and radiohead is definitely my favorite band. i cryed a little at certain songs. it was ridiculous. but so amazing. thanks for this video..

ps. thom yorke said 'Fuck yeah' back to me at this concert. best moment of my life.

  • I know what you mean about the bracelet and everything...and radiohead and crying (it got me in Optimistic, of all songs!). I remember when Thom said "fuck yeah"...but what did you say to make him say it?

I was like forty feet from the stage. You really can't get close enough to radiohead.

  • That was to you?!

  • ya... i'm loud. and it was incredible .. and everyone around me was like patting me on the back for a few minutes afterwards. it was great... huge accomplishment for someone like me.. if only i could have met him... :(

  • Fireworks in the right place!! FTW!!

  • wow... i was about 4th row, i didnt even see the text.

  • Around 7:10, pure pure pure amazingness.

God set it so the fireworks and the song mixed so well.

  • this was undoubtedly the greatest concert ever!!! it was just unreal

  • man i was 6th row, it was amazing. Dancing all night long. Radiohead is the best band ever, been wanting to see them live for like 4 years now and that couldnt have been a better show

  • what was that t-shirt tom was wearing?

  • I think it was a messed up monkey or something...

  • It was a black one with like some skeleton head on it. lol

  • this show was so amazing. remember the ominous cloud that rolled in during the second encore?

  • yea, that was so awesome. i really wanted to rain during idioteque and 2+2=5. would have completed the night

  • Yeah that breeze made the temperature drop like 10 degrees instantly. It was really spooky :)

  • Yeah, i though it was going to collide with the stage, that would have been insane. amazing show.

  • thats seriously fucking AMAZING... EARGASMIC. im so jelly i couldnt go :(

  • That show was one big eargasm from start to finish.

  • WOULD THAT GUY EVER SHUT THE FUCK UP!? How you can't just jump around and dance to this song and forget every other thing in the fucking world I do not know. Saw them twice this tour and both times I was just in a daze.

  • excelente

  • I was second row in front of O'brien. this song was a real treat as well as many others. I feel sorry for you musime, you really missed somthing special.

  • this is sick. THis show was madness while your outta your mind. One of the best times of my life

  • LollaLounge sucked! Too far away to see anything and all the people there cared about was chitchatting and having their drinks refreshed. I couldn't find a place to listen to the show; it was like being at a cocktail party while someone played the "Kid A" cd on the other side of the park. Maddening! That ticket was free and I wish I'd paid for a GA one so I could have crowded around the stage with the real fans.

Thank God I saw them in Indy Sunday or I'd be weeping bitter tears right now.

  • because a lot of bears fans wouldn't want to sit around in soldier field for an extra hour while we finish our concert. besides, it made a nice, albeit unexpected, addition to the show.

  • omg, i had no idea that the show had fireworks and shit showing, i was too close to see those things.

  • this show was fucking religious.

  • w00t! thanks for this sick video!

  • I still can't believe I saw this live

  • Great vid, damn this was an amazing show... You were so far back though. I was right up front!

  • wow you were really far away from the stage. sorry yo i was right in front.

great concert! but nine inch nails had a much better led array

  • yes, because the quality of the lighting is the most important determinant of the quality of a concert, right? who cares about music? seriously though, i'm a long time NIN fan, but i feel like radiohead had the better show this weekend. NIN is still in my top three or four of the festival, don't worry.

  • That is amazing.

  • this show was phenominal, i really wish i had the money to go to the all points west festival to see them again.

  • The amazing thing is that the fireworks were for the Chicago Bears' Family Night. This is just an amazing coincidence that the finale starts at the exact moment that fake plastic trees gets good.

  • haha, that's awesome. The fireworks went perfect with the show.

  • I had NO idea that they had 'everything in its right place' scrolling through the lights. Oh man, I love Radiohead... they still are suprising me from that show.

  • nice job filming

  • after 5 hours of standing in the heat, this was so so worth it. i thought the fireworks went perfectly with fake plastic trees

  • best night of my fucking life!!!!!!!

  • this vid is sweet! it spells out the lyics holy shit! i was too close to notice, and i had no idea there were fireworks. hands down the best show of my life.

  • WOW I just noticed that too, thats pretty fucking amazing, i was like 8 rows back

  • They had fireworks last year for Pearl Jam, who performed on the last night.

  • Kanye West. The fireworks came from soldier field the last 2 years for the bears fan night. pretty amazing effect. No place like Chicago in the summer No place

  • scratch this off my bucket list.

  • that was a really good show i got like first 15 rows took some fighting to get that close.

  • I was so high during this I had the most euphoric feeling running throw me I could have almost cried. Great night

  • agreed

  • i did cry. lol

  • What a fucking wimp! What can the hospital do for a broken finger? Just man up, and go after the show! I thought the fireworks were planned as well. Gogol Bordello was great, Bloc Party sucked imo. They are horrible live. I endured their crap cause I knew Radiohead was coming.

  • who's the noob who put an apostrophe on "its" when they spelled out "everything in its right place?" lulz

  • It sucked having to skip the Raconteurs and the Black Keys but it was way worth being up close for the light tubes they hung, the amazing screen sequences, and obviously radiohead being perfect. Gogol Bordello was actually surprisingly fun and Bloc party was surprisingly good. Anyone agree?

  • i agree with everything you said... gogol bordello was awesome! and i, too, was really mad that i didnt get to see the raconteurs until i found out that they didnt even play carolina drama anyway... so now i think i'll be ok

  • i skipped the raconteurs (still bummed about that - that's what torrents of the webcast are for!), but i think you could have gotten a good spot even if you went to the black keys. if you stayed in the back and left a few minutes early, it was still entirely possible. i had no interest in gogol bordello, and bloc party was fine. i like a fair amount of their music, and even the songs i don't like aren't _bad_

  • Yeah, I got there like 3 bands early to get a good spot... didn't even notice that there were fireworks... great show though... fantastic.

  • too bad u were so far back....i was about 20 rows back. not SUPER close, but i could see great

  • whoa the fireworks weren't for Radiohead?? I had no idea. It was so perfect I thought it was planned. That is amazing, the concert was amazing. Man, I wish I could live that night over again, it was just so awesome.

  • I broke my finger right before they got onstage that was 80 dollars down the drain plus a hospital bill

  • I was a bit off to the left of this view. It was really beautiful. Crazy hot that night.

  • dang, i was so close, i didn't even know there were fireworks..

  • Haha you are severely retarded if you think Sigur Ros is even in Radiohead's league.I never hear anyone mention Sigur Ros when talking about the greatest albums/bands of all time, but I seem to hear Radiohead almost every time. Hmm...

  • I was fucking 20 yards away from Radiohead. Best perfomance ever.

  • yo i was there pretty close too the best live show in the world at that moment!!! the fireworks were not apart of the show it was something with football

  • yeah they were!

  • yeah, it was surprising that it fit so well

  • something with football? How bout it was for the fucking Chicago Bears family night practice. Something with football, what a d-bag.

  • the fireworks did sync great live. their finale got us excited and then that led right into the climax of trees, once that got going I couldn't really hear the fireworks anymore and it was shocking how quiet it was once trees came down again

  • everything in its right place indeed

  • how CRAZY was that cloud that come towards the audience

  • ahhh there is always next year :/

  • This was great. So glad I got to see it live. =)

  • i never even saw the fireworks since i was so close i just heard them

  • that's awesome

  • The fireworks were part of the Chicago Bears' Family Night

  • I was there and the fireworks just felt like they were timed perfectly with the song... this video makes it sound alittle off.

  • I agree....taht was such a memorable part of the concert! It just seemed to synch perfectly!

  • They were out of this world, Fake Plastic is my favorite Radiohead song, and EIIRP was I think the best performance

  • you know thom yorke wouldnt let those go off if he didnt want them there.

  • I'm pretty sure Radiohead fanbopys are the only people on Earth that would actually be angry about firweorks going off while the band is performing.

  • Looks great, though I am not too sure how happy I'd be to be hearing fireworks pop throughout "Fake Plastic Trees".

  • i was up in the front and honestly, i didn't even realize there were fireworks.

  • It was cool, trust me!

  • I was pretty much up front for them....this show was sooo amazing. It was just breath taking.

  • it was even better live, thanx for the memory...

  • that's so cool

  • Firework in the Right Place. FTW!!!!!!!!!!

  • that was such a good show

  • Radiohead never has a bad live show.

  • Great footage friend, to be perfectly honest with you, i wasn't camped to far from where you took this awesome snippet. Hell of a show!!!!

  • Thank the Bears for the fireworks

  • hey, were the fireworks from the kids day thing at soldier field? I wondered that when I was there... anyways great show!!!

  • that was a great time i loved it thank you for this!

  • This is amazing.
