This is the interview I've been hunting for: the pleasant, kind-hearted lady recalling her wild past. Tura was only like Varla and the rest of her characters in terms of no-nonsense toughness. She was a sweetheart who would've been a grand friend to have. Also one of greatest unacknowledged comediennes of her era. Does anyone really think an intelligent woman like Tura spat out those lines without knowing how hilarious they were?

@tehqyv My mother went through hell between making the FPKK movie and the interview here. Some jerk who was uninsured driving an unregistered semi-monster truck hit her Pontiac when she was stopped in a left hand turn lane waiting to turn. He swerved into her lane rear-ending her car going 65 mph in a 25 mph zone. Her trunk was literally pushed into her back seat pinning her between the steering wheel and seat. She was never suppose to walk again. So ... kiss my well-padded @ss!

Tura is an amazing tough mama at any age, she lived it, she is the real thing. No one can look as they did 45 years ago, and they shouldn't be expected too. But we have her on film to enjoy for eternity, and while she's still here, she deserves our respect and adoration. I look forward to the new documentary on her life. Look up her website on google, she is a great lady and I have a signed photo from her.
I would like to meet Tura one of these days. She was in Chicago, I think last October but I saw the advertisement after the fact in the newspaper. Shucks!! I have "Doll" and "Pussycat."
