  • Hell my drumline played this cadence in highschool in 92 93 of course our band director was center snare for USM in the old days so i see they still playing that old shit.Wooten gotta be 1000 years old by now right lol.

  • yeah if anyone has the music hit me up too im playin wit them this saturday when USM plays Virginia on the Drumline

  • Anybody got the music for this? If so please hit me up

  • Hah. You can see me in this vid. I'm just off standing over by the cymbals. Not playing. One day though... =]

  • Hardest measure in Level 4 is 20... damn inverted flam tap

  • my cousin went that school and said msu band plays gay songs and sucks

  • @Kat48 Yeah msu's line sucks

  • @TheColbles2009 dude msu are better than these guys. in fact tthe msu drumline sounds like one drum. but these guys are good though

  • @347826able dude you have no idea... im sorry you have to listen to msu drumline all the time... try listening to these guys more often

  • Maybe yall should play SWAC cadences!!!!!!

  • @therawest601 they wouldnt play them right because they have to learn them all by ear. and that is a lot of them. and since they dont have any tenors it wouldnt sound right

  • sorry

  • WOW THIS IS NICE but im sorry so miss fans but thier sticking are off

  • Why would the stickings be wrong when the composer of the cadences is the percussion department head at USM? They're not.

  • Hey. we play this cadence (at perk) lol. are you on the cymbal line there? I know you btw, isnt your name Tori? I used to talk to you about being an instructor at citronelle.

  • i love this drumline. i've performed with them twice and it was amazing

  • Ronnie marched Cadets 07 and Spirit 03. He's the guy to the right of Jimmy (Jimmy's center snare)

    He did pit thought.

But, hr's a great all around percussionists.

I take lessons from him, and he's our drumline insturcter. Our familys go way back.

  • I met ronnie lol

  • families*

  • If anybody want to know, this is da usm show. A boom boom.

  • since when did white bands or should i say corps style starting twirling z's(cymbals)? I guess............. but it was jamming though!

  • since when did white bands or should i say corps style starting twirling z's(cymbals)? I guess............. but it was jamming though!

  • that was really cool and very entertaining nice job

  • jimi!

  • Andy Sanders? Man I ain't heard his name in a while. I captained USM in '89 and '90 when he was a graduate student. Where is he now?

  • Teaching band at Southaven High School. I'm a USM music graduate and he was my band director back at Forest Hill in Jackson. x

  • and by the way, gavin is a great snare drummer and an even better all around percussionist. just because he's on the end doesn't mean that he isn't great.

  • overrated? did anyone say anything about it being the best or perfect??? we never claimed to be. i's just a recording. i agree with sheisnotspecial. if you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything. my girlfriend is in the band at MSU. i have seen the drumline. jason baker has developed a great program up there, but that doesn't mean it is perfect. no one is. so just keep it to yourself. on another note, most of us are music majors, marching band is NOT our main focus focus.

  • it's cool. i'm not offended by your comment, it's just that it IS college marching band. people don't expect it to be a drum corps. there are PLENTY of groups better than all the schools in mississippi.

  • eh...it's ok. marched USM 01 (cymbals) and 02( tenors). and i canNOT believe the cymbals don't do the ass spank in level 4 anymore!!!

  • You only think that because you go to MSU. If you don't have anything constructive to say, keep it to yourself.

  • that's right i like it. it's all together so it sounds good

  • lol was that directed towards me??

  • well justreleased09, his name is "nick", but now he went from troopers to phantom this year.

  • Did you march Troopers with Nick?

  • dang that seems like a big jump. troopers to phantom?! dang that guy musta worked really hard...

  • Yeah, I know. His name is Nick Manton and he took lessons with Andy Sanders. He marched Troopers last year under Brian Stevens(Phantom 94) after he got cut at PR. This year he made PR,

  • ew which cymbal wasn't using marching grip

pssht orchestral grip cymbals with a marching unit

    I skoff

other than that, a pretty clean and uniform group, good

  • You shouldn't skoff. It wasn't orchestral grip, it was a pistol grip used for the spins. I would switch between Garfield and pistol depending on what cadence we were playing.

  • any1 no were to get the SD part?

  • John Wooton (Rowloff Publications)

  • Call USM and ask Department chair if you can borrow...He wrote it. (I'm an ASCAP Member...you gotta ask if it's (C); life + 70 protects us from rip-offs now). Call the Dept and see what he says. You might be surprised. He's cool. Nice guy. But you gotta ask if you wanna borrow. That's just cool. It's uncool not to ask. ;-)

  • very similar to the Bridgemen's drum cadence "Carnavalito".. very nice

  • well now i do, it took you 8 months!

  • I freaking love level 4, we play it at my school. Will Donnelly[sp] is our instructor person. lol.

  • i think i see brett farve!

  • Don't a couple guys from this line march Southwind?

  • We have a tenor from Troopers, 2 snares from Cadets, and a cymbal player from Southwind.

  • I see you Tory!

  • Who sees me?

  • I do. >_>

    Im from DLO.

  • Well, crap. That narrows it down. ;)
