I love how the brits had 76mm and easy 8 shermans.... guess seeing how the tanks are over 60 years old its hard to fight all the right ones. but i guess they are all shermans. Also the air support was P 47 thunderbolts shouldnt it been typhoons? After all they are british....
Glad to see a fucking war movie were the 'allies' dont walk in and Rambo all the Germans like the germans were complete imbeciles, with the allies taking a few casualties. Also, in the Westernfront. When the shit hit the fan for the allies their solution was to bomb everything. if they can storm it. Bomb it. Can't seize it? Bomb it.
@revolrz22 Actually other way around, allies adopted and adapted a lot of german tactics never weapons until after the war like tank design and V2, jet technology ect.
I never said the Allies did not adapt German technologies. Perhaps you should read the comment I was responding to.
But if you're seriously going to try and argue that the Germans never took inspiration off of Allied tactics/equipment then I would love to see you try and explain the Panzerschrek, just for starters. The G41 and 43, as well. Oh, and then there's that lovely Heavy Panzer Battalion organization that looks suspiciously like French heavy armored format.
@revolrz22 what did the Germans have imitated ? the first Helicopter, Combined army and air force attacks?, shock troops, assault rifle, Night Visions (Vampire) ejection seat? Radio guided missiles,-bombs? R4M unguided rocket or st guided rockets like the Ruhrstahl X-4.and and and...
I never said the Allies did not imitate German tech, although some of the items you listed were not German developments. However, to say that Germany did not yank just as much from the Allies is silly. Night Vision? The Americans had it and used it. Combined arms? A lot of countries, Britain in particular, were playing with the idea before the Germans were, and they used those theories to come up with their own vision of how war was to be waged.
@revolrz22 In 1936, AEG was ordered to start the development of infrared night-vision devices and in 1939, first successful prototype unit for use with 37mm Pak 35/36 L/45 anti-tank gun was constructed. In autumn of 1942, unit for use (infrared headlamp with viewer ZG 1221) with 75mm PaK 40 L/46 anti-tank gun was constucted and was also mounted on Marder II (Sd.Kfz.131).
I did not say that the Germans did not have infra red. Just that the United States had it as well. As well as television bombs, etc.
I'm not sure where you're going with this. I never said the Germans never invented everything. But the notion that the Allies were all rock-smashing cavemen with collective IQ's under 70 while the Germans were the only reason that we ever advanced out of the stone age is pretty silly. It's also the view that germanophiles on the internet tend to hold.
@revolrz22 I will not say so. we would not now stand there without the Marshall Plan of American or the help of the English. We feel very committed to the Americans. What would the German Wehrmacht have been without Ford aka Opel ;) Then as now, corporations are multinational companies only accountable to shareholders and not to countries.
@revolrz22 Nothing to do with germanophil but with the understanding that this small country fought against four nations. We where occupied by Napoleon and we had a war which raged 30 years and depopulated whole areas and we were rather humiliated by the Versailles treaty. 42.8 million Americans reported in a 2000 census by "German" as their primary ancestry. But something has changed! The prime minister of Lower Saxony Germany is an Englishman
@ad220588 Weren't a small number of Panthers kitted with infra red optics during the Ardennes Offensive? Also I think some Jagdpanthers were also equipped with this technology!
@brownsey1 yes they where. But I am glad that I'm born 30 years after the war. I think the big bang is coming soon. we currently live in a time when it comes to securing strategic reserves. The Western world secured oil and mineral resources and the Chinese secure food and mineral resources. It will be exciting...
@revolrz22 Combined arms operations dates back to antiquity, where armies would usually field a screen of skirmishers to protect their spearmen during the approach to contact.. The Focke-Achgelis Fa 223 Drache was a helicopter developed by Germany during World War II.The Fa 223 could cruise at 175 km/h with a top speed of 182 km/h, and climb to an altitude of 7,100 m. The Drache could transport cargo loads of over 1,000 kg at cruising speeds of 121 km/hand altitudes approaching 2,440 m
@revolrz22 Bulshit ! The germans invented the first assault rifle, the first jet fighter, the first jet bomber, the first cruise missile, the first long range missile, the first nightvision scope... Even today the M1 Abrams uses a german 120mm gun by Rheinmetall... Germany 1, you 0
'First assault rifle' is debatable. The Russians hit on a select fire magazine fed firearm with a cartridge purposely chosen because it was a lower power cartridge than their norm back in WWI. The only reason people say it wasn't an assault rifle is because it was a Japanese rifle cartridge. This is an arbitrary and ultimately meaningless argument. The idea of the assault rifle was around for a long time before the StG-44. Sorry to hurt your feelings.
As for jet Fighter - yeah, they rushed out the first half-baked broken down unfeasible jet fighter which they could in no way support. The Allies had projects for jet fighters at the time, too - and ones that could out perform the ME-262. Long range missile? I'll go ahead and give you that one. Night vision scope? The Americans had it and used it in the Pacific. Are you trying to say that the Germans 'invented' tank guns? Sorry, you failed on your face.
@revolrz22 Haven´t heard about the american inventions, but hey, i can´t know everything :-) I didn´t mean, that the Gemans invented the tank gun but the Abrams uses a german gun that is produced by Rheinmetall, it´s the gun from the Leopard 2.
@1337fraggzb00N You don't know about the American inventions? Then why the hell are you arguing German superiority if you know exactly nothing about Allied achievements?
@1337fraggzb00N That's fine if you feel that way. But arguing that the allies were a collective of uncultured idiots who were still throwing rocks when the Germans were a superior race of super-rocket scientists without knowing anything about Allied contributions to related fields like, oh, radar, and television bombs, etc etc is the height of idiocy.
Maybe you´ve overseen the bit of irony in my writings. The Germans also invented Wurst, Blitzkrieg and Sauerkraut - exactly in that order ! They tried to copy the worst parts of a full irish breakfast, but they failed, even the Germans weren´t able to to such terrible things.
One of the best battle scenes ever, with a nice demonstration of combined arms. :) But why the hell do several countries insist on dubbing every film?
@jamestaylor94b true in 1940,sorta,Spitfire 's as good as a 109,by 44 all the allies had planes as good as the Germans,B29 allies best plane ,wasn't even needed in Europe
@Wieland1985 Nothing to do with the disasterous idea of fighting a war on two fronts and being led by an incompetent mad-man and being allied to a bunch of 4th rate military bumpkins in south Eastern Europe...no nothing to do with that....Allies just had planes.
Not going to bother reading the comment below because I already know how it will go.
1.Nazi wannabes praising the Axis.and complaining that they only lost because of (insert stupid reason)
2. Some dumb ass yank acting like he won the war single handed and then getting all butthurt when someone reminds them russia won the war.
3.Random comment in german followed by the 88 code sign (really fucking clever dumbass)
4.Some history nerd complaining that something has been mislabled (nobody cares btw)

How about you all learn to fight holistically.
And another thing, ask us for help against your Umma natives. Ask nicely, and we will come.
