I purchased the steering rod, the wheel, and the tie rods. The mounting of everything was all me. You can pretty much buy all the parts, then you just have to figure out how and where to weld it to your frame.
take it to a kart circuit, i don't like the idea of eletric when we have 2 stroke motors (gotta luv em) but electric motors will offer maximum torque at any time, as long as the batteries charged
if your still fabricating, the NK II, you should make some time lapse footage of some of the build, using a webcam, i made a sculpture out of old computer parts, took me 3 hours, but, with time lapse, the video was 3 minutes long.
hey mark, Thats looking really good. One question, What made you go for bigger tyres on the front of this kart when the last karts were smaller. Just interested because I went for a very similar tyre setup. I feel with this way there will probanly be more traction. John
To be honest, the first thing I noticed when looking for the new tires was that they seemed to put a little more rubber in contact with the ground. Second, they fit the rims and were less expensive. Unfortunately, I found out that, after modifying the battery boxes on the orignial kart for Optima batteries, the bigger tires wouldn't fit the original kart. Oh well. In the rolling test, they seem to grip pretty well. Let's see how it goes with full weight on the kart.
how much for just a chassis like this

Did you make the steering set up? If so, how long did it take you, how hard was it and what materials did you use? Thanks!!!

how much dose it cost to just get the kart like this with out the motor or anything

he built that out of his own, dude.
Had you any hope of being a decent welder, yuo could probably get the parts for a few hundred dollars to produce one of these.

That's a good idea - I'm going to look into that. If nothing else, I can do a time-lapse of the build up.
