this song is beautiful Ivo singing for the first time in festival in Split when he left for Germany and got in contact with Bert Kaempfert what happen there is hard to say but bert got the song translated to English and German and Ivo got to sing in German and Frank in English frank did not want the song at the beginning . the song is his original sad hi is left out of the fame

He's, indeed, the original composer of the song, and for that congratulations, but Frank Sinatra has a certain charm and passion in his voice. I think he sings this song better because of that, but that's just my opinion.

Prica kruzi da je Ivo Bertu ovu pjesmu odnosno "Ova Splitska noc" u orginalu prodao malte ne za dzaba ,Ivo nikad nije o tome govorio jer je bio dobar prijatelj Berta ,samo je rekao da se sa Sinatrom dogovorio a sad dal mu je Frank nesto dao to neznam.

Ivo Robić was friends with Bert Kaempfert, who had some money problem, back then. So, Ivo and his wife agreed to give this song to Bert, in order to help him get back on his feet. Can you believe that! Imagine that someone do something like that today... Those were other times, other world... Bert Kaempfert got all the credit to Ivo's song. Life sucks.
