  • Hi Ron,

Liked the video. Did you get anymore work out of this as a direct result of the video?

  • @nickwatts27 When the video first came out it brought in a lot of work, but after about 10 000 hits none at all. In fact the opposite is true, when I tell people who I am they just laugh. It doesn't help claiming to be the most expensive plasterer in the world.....I guess. Rx

  • @anoncomposmentis

So it is worth posting a video. Thanks Nick. I trained as a plasterer at Deptford College years ago.

  • @nickwatts27 I'd say it is worth it, But i'd make sure you leave a phone number, unlike me. Good luck mate. R

  • Doesn't matter what video on youtube you're viewing, there's ALWAYS disgusting yankee trolls spreading their ignorant, racist shit.

Nice work, I didn't know plastering involved so much time & effort; You certainly work much harder than me to earn a living.

Now, time for me to plaster my garage... well, at least attempt to.

  • very nice guy

  • ron the plasterer is fucking ace

  • what does he spend his money on...........tea bags

  • @leighseek Very good tea bags. And travelling 9 months of the year. Ronx

  • that wall is not even worth £22 its more like £3 a meter

this is a response from a fully qualified plasterer that works on site everyday

  • @conbomb9000 Working 'on site' implies you work for someone else. Whoever you work for will be getting more than £3 a sq m. Maybe not as much as £25 though

  • @djjnuk Very good point made mate. A couple of years ago there was a consensus in the comments of about 15 a metre. 3 quid a meter is a disgrace.

  • @conbomb9000 We were getting 3 a meter 20 years ago, for setting boards, about 5 for float and set. 3 quid is a insult to every trade unionist and also to the spirit of Thatcher. Remember loadsamoney? I reckon a absolute minimum of 5 for setting, we all got bills to pay and the bones give up after about 35. Good luck mate, plastering is the hardest game of all. Ronthebuilder.

  • A very good demonstration of how skills developed after years of practice. This is a demonstration of good eye to hand coordination and the continuous scanning ensuring a level deposit of the material.

  • Good stuff Ron! Can't believe some of these comments mate.

  • Great video Ron. Really enjoyed it! I don't know what half of these comments are on about but they're a bit hostile at times eh? Anyway, have a bedroom to do and you've given me the confidence to continue with some more plastering (I think I'm getting better each time). Regards, Ian.

  • @kafkaian Mate, thank you so much. good luck and please let us know how you get on. Ronx

  • jees it must take you months to do a house 1 wall at a time

  • No chance of 25 quid per SM today...too many johny foreigners and 1 week plastering course fools out their banging in pathetic low prices, doing the job for nowt....plastering sucks like a dry wall with no PVA Nowadays

  • ron the plasterer is fucking ace

  • @teesfella lol yea cause there not money grabbing whores like you.

  • @tag1989 I packed plastering in 14 years ago, moved on from that mugs game.not that i ever ripped any one off. always done the job for a decent price...anyway? why am i explaining it to you..your probs one of the 1 week plastering course fools that end up fucking peoples houses up with a botch £190 job that a pro asks £600 for.

  • @teesfella And so say all of us.

  • @teesfella LOL@ "1 week plastering course" ha! it was actually 3 days a week but anyways....

I respect you plasterers and the trade but you cant get mad just cause new younger noobies are coming through. people have to start somewhere... besides within all those years of doing plastering you should of been smart with your money and saved for an early retirement. and not necking it down the pub like you tradesman regularly do. people come in and old people get kicked out thats life.

  • Comment removed

  • @teesfella why dont I go back to africa??? lol idiot how can I go BACK to a country that I've never even been to before? dumbass.

  • what a tool

  • Sum knobhead is Ron

  • you are a prick mate and pricks like you are what makes this country crap you ignorant big headed piece of shit i hope you get your cum upance

  • The more breaks you take the less you earn...lol...so at the rate you drink tea your on about 3 pound a day, As for me im going to use plaster board,Way cheaper than 25 pound a square meter and finished in a day. So no having to pay a lazy dude to stand there bragging about earning 25pound a square meter while he drinks tea.

Now you know why people hate tradies....No chance of you ever seeing any of my coin.

  • @MultiGazman I hope you enjoy rattling around your cardboard house. I think you should sroll down the comments and place your self in the pantheon of ignorants.

  • @anoncomposmentis You can be sure of that dopey, I`m not trapped in a concrete tomb(hope your enjoying yours),I can alter my house any way i want it at minimal cost and i dont need a tool like you in it.THATS THE BOTTOM LINE....LMFAO!

  • yeah using the towers like that is going to far..dont think all us brits are like that moron!!

and as for the plastering not bad ...but if your getting 25 pound a square meter why you having breaks? well paid breaks as you say????i would be whacking loads on!!

  • @jjantopo I am not being entirely honest about the 25 a metre, it is sort of a joke to wind up spreads. The oldest wind up in the book as it happens. A bit like sending the boy for tartan paint, every proffsional knows its bullshit, if they get wound up, then they are new to the game....Good luck mate..Ron

  • amazing how this video can cause comments to turn into a racist slanging match.

well least I think i have a better Idea how to plaster properly. Now just need to buy a 'hawk'? for a cheap price lol

  • @Demonickitten666 No demon kitten. You need to buy a china tea pot and maybe some good quality darjeeling. First warm the pot then add one teaspoon of tea per person and one for the pot. Add BOILING water and leave to stand for 90 seconds. Stir the pot then drain into empty china cups through a strainer. Then add milk to taste, then AND ONLY THEN, you can maybe add one lump or two? but you cant trust a man who takes sugar in his tea, that's as good a rule of thumb as you can find..RontheBuilder

  • @anoncomposmentis darn, no wonder my partner is rubbish at DIY he LOVES 2 sugars in his tea XD

  • @Demonickitten666 I must confess to a softening in my stance against pople who take sugar n their tea, also I am developing a taste for a large espresso in the morning. Don't know what the world is coming too! perhaps I am softening with age. Hope you find your cheap hawk and good luck with your project, I would love to know how you get on. Thanks for the comment, they give me a sense of enormous wellbeing making me all the more intolerable..

  • *bob the builder......

  • british fags always having tea

  • @xToOxRaWxIsTheTruth american cunts, always eating burgers and getting their towers bombed

  • @sammybarnet so your buses and subway cars just "malfunctioned"? faggot.

  • @xkigolx nope but lioke 4 people died in those bombings. there were tousands dead in the twin towers.

  • @sammybarnet ok that was going too far. Yes calling british 'fags' isnt exactly pleasant, but you should NEVER use the towers as a sick twist against him. No wonder people slag off the British if you go around saying that.

@xToOxRaWxlsTheTruth also who cares if he's British and 'drinks tea'? I'm British and I prefer coffee. Get a life. Makes no difference where he bloody comes from or what he drinks. You wouldnt like me commenting on an american vid saying "american fags always having a subway"

  • @Demonickitten666 I care I am British and drink tea. You see, tea is the magic elixir, the yucky brown panacea, the ambrosia of suburbia. The empire was built on a nice cup of tea, and you know it is always a nice cup of tea, your Mothers just died? oh, have a nice cup of tea. wife having a affair? put the kettle on. There is no end to it's healing properties, both emotional and er, physical. And as for you my friend, a Brit who prefers coffee? that for me make you a wrong un. happy days. Ronx

  • It's no big deal trimming around the boxes once the plastering is finished. I normally put a square of card into the box to protect the cable and the screw holes from being covered in plaster. Once the plastering's finished, take the card out, trim the plaster around the boxes,,, job done. Either way, it's not a problem.

  • Ehhh.

A good plasterer ensures that electrical outlet boxes and fittings are not covered with plaster. It should be squarely plastered around items such as socket outlet boxes and light switch boxes. Didn't see that in this video.

    Not very good at all.

  • @Techozek It's a fair cop guv...Ron the builder

  • It can be several things,,, plasterboard dot and dabbed onto the brick/blockwork,, (a cheap, crap way in my opinion),,, or,,, you can batten the walls, add insulation and then fix plasterboard, which can either be taped or skimmed over,,, or,, you can scratch coat, render top coat then skim,, (takes longest to do),,

or,, you can float coat the walls with Gypsum undercoat plaster,,, Hardwall, Browning or Bonding Coat,,, Hardwall would be the best bet. You can also use a "One Coat Plaster".

  • when a house is built what is applied to the interior after the brickwork is done? DO they use rendering on the interior of houses and then plaster over the top of that? what is layered over the interior of housing brickwork after just the brickwork alone is complete.

  • lets just say the cock is trying as or the cock with the wig on well there probbs fake 20'S anyway

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the joys of beeing a cowboy

  • god he is shite. Who the hell would pay him. I do this for a livining and 25 per m I think not. If he can only get a wall on he needs practice, what a useless twat.

  • @danuonlne check out rockcote or Cement Australia

  • where can I buy this plaster in Australia. Over here in Sydney we have basecoast products which is white in colour..and another product called joint plaster which comes in a pre-mixed bucket..but I have been searching for plaster in Sydney can any one help please

  • its the double curved wall above , just in case your a thick cunt, durs5 and cant work out where my video is

  • @durs5, whilst your sitting over in Paris with your head up your arse, drinking "cotes du Rhône" for under £10 a bottle, maybe you would like to watch my video.

its more professional, more technical, a better quality HD video and by far better outcome!

don't come on here mugging people off because they cant plaster the 100m a day you can claim! why don't you prove yourself and get a video on here, or alternatively, just f**k off son!

  • @cmbhi You are a tad confused, I was sitting wiyh my lover, then I watched your video that was posted as a response to mine, I do about six square metres, not 100 and I mug myself off, no one else.. Good luck..Ron

  • Haha £25m2 good ain pal. Standard here is £6.50 and a better job than that :)

  • LOL I WISH I WORKED WITH THIS GUY HIS SUCH A PIKEY

  • ron ron ron. i like you ,coz after people see your work its very easy for me to come in and do it properly. fucking joker. £25p/m your living in a dream world. by your reckoning i should be earning £750 a day but i only get £180 p/day. what am i doing wrong.......? i can tell from them tattoos and your laugh THAT YOU ARE A PROPER PIKEY SCUM... your buckets are the wrong way round also. BIG YELLOW ONE FOR PLASTER GIRLY LITTLE BUCKET FOR CLEANING. CUNT

  • GOOD OL RON,

  • That's why I like you Brits, you always make sure you have a cup of tea.

  • nice video man...

  • Nice 1 Ron you are a legend! £25 per meter! Must be London prices. Here in the south Wales valleys we are charging £6 psm!

  • sorry like a dickhead iv'e not watched all the video sry.

  • Ron, Is this a council 1 coat skim or have you applied a second coat.

  • @deerstalker999 The council? they are the ones who cut my hair! Ron

  • you dont pva plasterboard, for re skims not on fresh plasterboard

  • @reeeaach1981 YOUR GOOD AINT YA. YOU BLIND OR SOMETHING?

  • he said £25 a square meter

  • @jjpro29

He was only joking, it was a tongue in cheek comment.

  • Ron

I watched your film a while back, and last night I skimmed over some poxtex in an alcove that somebody has done in nearly every room in a house I bought nearly 14 years ago. It took me over three hours to do about 3 square meters, I managed to get an acceptable finish on it, but my float is only an 8" one, so I'm going to invest in a 12" as I am planning to do every wall & ceiling. Do you have a film plastering a ceiling and could you tell me whether or not plasterboard needs to be pva'd?

  • @mainlymojo Delighted that you found video useful. You shouldn't have to PVA onto p/board, not new p/board anyway although some plasterers do as it extends the drying time. Unfortunately I don't have a 'how to plaster a lid (ceiling) video, but, if you have a ceiling and a camera we can make one together if you like, seriously, I'm up for it if you are.....best of luck you and your project...thanks... R

  • @mainlymojo

If you do PVA plasterboard, make sure you plaster onto it while it's wet/tacky.

  • @mainlymojo be prepared to go to hospital if your doing that ceiling. coz it will come out shit.. leave it to the people who earn a lot out of it. coz we dont think about plastering-EVERYTHING ELSE BUT PLASTERING....

  • @Durs5 ???????????????????????????????????????

  • Nice one Mr Ron, told my boss I'd be able to plaster his new shop no probs, without actually having done it before; thanks for the sound advice and a little confidence!

  • @Mokie234 Thank you for your kind comment. Please let me know how it goes.....Best of luck tya Rx

  • i always get at least £75 a metre

  • Comment removed

  • @spank1master

    Edited by mainly mojo.

£75 per meter... my living room ceiling is roughly 5 m/4 m = 20 sq m. 20 sq m x £75.00 = £1500.00. Thats one expensive plastering job, my brother in law charges around that to render a 3 bed semi including the smoothed out corners and scaffolding.. If you average the 4 walls about the same area for easy recconing, thats 4 walls + 1 ceiling = 5 surfaces = 5 x 20 sq m x £75.00 = £7500.00, to plaster my living room, Do you actually get much work then?

  • @mainlymojo who said 75, he said 25

  • @mainlymojo haha this fella is exactly the kind of person you want in your houes- just so i can have the pleasure of throwing his sorry arse out of the room. fucking rip off pikey twat..

  • @Durs5 As I sit with by beautiful lover in Paris, drinking cotes du Rhône and dining on entrecote, I can only marvel at the fact you think I care about your opinion. VIVE LE PIKEYS

C’est celui qui dit qui est !!!!!!

  • 25 pounds for square meter .maaaaaan that was long time ago:D

  • the cup of tea makes all the difference

  • when u bond the wall with pva/water how long do u have 2 wait before u can start 2 plaster it thanks

  • @26raa01

Skim onto the pva while it's wet/tacky. Don't let it dry out. If it does dry before you're ready, just pva over it again.

  • this dude is nice....i wish i could do plaster like him

  • well if youd stop making wank vids then id say nout you tosser go and lern how too plaster you fucking cunt

  • @monkey1989ify oh little monkey boy. Did the nasty plasterer man upset you. Diddums, there there mummies wee man. And later on, in the nusery, you can learn how to spell. I think wank vids says it all, most people use porn vids for wanking, seems you use plastering vids for the visual stimulation to facillitate your ejaculation.

  • Well said Ron!!!

  • at the rate hes going he will be finished that whole house in 6 months

  • Piece of piss. I did a 1 weeki intensive and now got my own business earning 25kpa. Sod the mickey mouse degrees and get a trade.

  • @zzzgdap Best of luck to you. Get a trade? Probably the best advice. Ron.

  • Believe that you'll believe anything. A crap tradesman with the best tools in the world will still produce a rubbish job. It's the ability of the tradesman that counts. It's like saying that a good driver is only as good as the car.

  • man you look rough, late night on the ale?

  • @wcwrickrude A late night on the tea.

  • Great video xD Great fun and helpful also!

  • Oh dear,,, all you little unemployed plastering experts, sitting at home with nothing better to do than criticise a helpful, but tongue in cheek plastering video.

  • 25 pound per m wtf bullshit i get 2 pound and iv never seen any1 put 1 little bucket on when the little wall next2 it needs doing as u have beaded it

  • cock and the wanker at the end had syrup on

  • you fucking cowboy fuck off £25 per m2

nd top coat is too fill low spots wtf you numty bollox muther fucker

  • @monkey1989ify Er, yuo are simply a tosser. Easy as, but yyou are a unoriginal, boring inane tosser who has nothing to say, nothing to add nothing at all really. piss poor comment. Ronx

  • what a tw@t

  • The comments on here make me laugh. These people crack me up. All so opinionated and trying to big themselves up. Nice video.

  • @dellybeanhead

Well said Delly,,, it's a great video.

  • @dellybeanhead.

Well said Delly, it's a great video!!

  • at least we know how to make a fkn cup of tea

  • Think ur mixing in the wrong bucket m8. Get it in the yellow gorrila tub.

  • @james00021

Why would you want to use a big Gorrila tub to mix up a "small" amount of finishing for just one little wall,,,, for all the plaster he needed, a small bucket was just fine.

  • How much a metre is it again?

  • you would not make a lot ron , your to slow lol

  • Ron tell me your an office wally and not a plasterer ??

  • @jayevans1973 An office wally?

  • See that line there? Erm no! what f in line! How can you see it in such poor light. £25 a Metre. Erm get the fuck down from dream world. Very poor video on how to plaster!

  • ron the chancer more like , my son could put a 3 bag spreed on quicker and he is 7....£25 a metre lmao get me a job i'll be on more money than torres lol

  • wow thats some terrible plastering! haha its all back to front not double coated and u dont get £25 per sq2 its more like £4-5.50 haha and knock a full bag up do a mans hit not a piddley little wall

  • Hi Ron hows it going

    Hope you are well

    Regards

    Colin

  • nice one ron in on it like a tramp on chips

  • at £25 per square metre why dont you invest in a decent video camera so we can see wtf your doing ron?

  • @truzzi1 Best of the critical comments, the others are all just bollocks about how wonderful they are.

  • Cuppa Tea is essential,

    cheers ron

  • You will be in trouble if some of the plaster mix were to find its way into the cup you are drinking out of.

  • What type of plaster are you using?

  • @Devlinski

    He's using Multi Finish plaster.

  • thanks to people like Ron, they all make the professionals look good!

  • This should be an advert for rogue traders! i have never seen someone take so long to open a bag of multi, not to mention the fact "Ron the bodger" is using a £1 value B&Q bucket to knock up in! the i also spotted the fact that he hasn't even got a marshalltown trowel. Now considering he earns £25 a meter, i would have thought he could at least afford to get his hair cut, let alone buy proper, professional plastering tools. i love the fact that he only polished the wall in one place too. Bodger!

  • @cmbhi So he opened the multi bag carefully, so he's got a £1 mixing bucket,, so he needs a haircut,, so the light shows up one particular polished area,,, stop nit picking!!! What's having a Marshalltown trowel got to do with it??

  • @TheRoughcaster . this is supposed to be a training video, is it not? do you think people at Microsoft use the zx spectrum for training? and whats wrong with throwing in a little humor? surely it makes better reading.

  • @cmbhi

I see your point CMB, but you're not criticizing his plastering, you're nit picking his hair style, his bucket, the way he opens a bag of plaster, the trowel he uses. Richard Branson is a billionaire but never dresses like one. I'd sooner see a scruffy person who makes an honest living, than political crooks dressed in suits. Never judge a book by it's cover. Lol.

  • @TheRoughcaster i wasnt commenting on the quality of the work, how can i? its not in high definition? so i cant tell. However if a tradesman turned up at my house with a wickes or B&Q level, i would be worried. i have invested a lot of money buying the best tools, and in fact i boast that on quotes, because to me that shows that im in it for the long haul. everyone knows what its like on site when someone turns up with "my first......" ,"tomy" or "fisherprice" tools.

  • @cmbhi

Let me tell you something CMB,,, i started plastering when England won the world Cup,, 1966. I have worked for many different firms both in England where i was born, and in Scotland where i live now. I have been self employed for 26 years, since1985. I have tools that are well used. Having the best tools does not a good tradesman make,,, the same as having the best car does not make anyone a better driver. It's all to do with experience,,, I don't have a marshalltown trowel either.

  • @cmbhi

Just by reading your posts, i can tell you are a good tradesman, and also, there is no nastiness in your replies. Enjoy being a plasterer CMB, it's a great trade to be in. Are you self employed too?

  • @cmbhi Having good quailty tools is but one factor in getting a great job done. Having a tradesman who poseses good quality tools does not nesessarily mean you have a good tradesman doing the work!!

  • @allthatmac i agree. but if someone has good tools it is likely that they earned them from actually getting paid at the end of each job! that is generally how it works

  • @cmbhi Like I said 'but one factor'!..A good blag artist will know how to put his best foot forward & look the part! & they know how to get paid & do a runner. And thats generally how that works.

  • @cmbhi WHAT A BULLSHIT COMMENT. FUCK ME I CAN 1ST COAT A WALL WITH A FOLDED UP PIECE OF CARDBOARD 9AND HAVE WHEN IM TEACHING PLASTERING0 JUST TO SHOW HOW EASY IT ACTUALLY IS. PEOPLE MAKE IT LOOK HARDER THAN IT IS. MAYBE COZ YOU FIND EVERYTHING YOU DO IS DIFFICULT. BEST TOOLS? DONT MAKE ME LAUGH THE ARM AND WRIST DO THE WORK FOLLOWED BY THE BRAIN ( THATS IF YOU STILL ACTUALLY HAVE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOUR DOING) YOUR NAME SAYS IT ALL...AND YOUR PROUD TO HAVE THAT NAME/ PLANK

  • @cmbhi

The humour i do like CMB.

  • @cmbhi

The humour i do like CMB. Lol

  • @TheRoughcaster every thing

your only as good as your tools

  • @cmbhi

A good plasterer could use the back of a shovel and still make a better job than a chancer with a Marshalltown

  • @TheRoughcaster , true, but then someone who works in a bank can be shit hot and still wear a suit with trainers! Its just not the done thing! You can't expect to put a "how to plaster a wall" video up, without people criticizing. that's like having a business card made of toilet paper!

  • @cmbhi The B&Q bucket was a good one, I knew it would wind you all up, ha ha. You are quite right about the trowel mind, I always used Marshaltown, steel NOT stainless for 25 years, I ended up doing a job of the cuff and had to buy a new trowel, I bought the Tyzak ready worn in, 40 odd quid, it worked fine for a couple of months then went out of shape. I still have all my old marshaltown trowels. 25 a metre was a joke, I deal with it in the first comments, read them. Haircuts are for pussies.Ron

  • Either your cement is really weak, or you put to much water in tht because the mud looks quite a bit yellow, be carefull people if it is yellow it means its not gonna hold for very long and usually crack when it dries

  • @flipingidiot2 Flipping idiot is a apt moniker for you, Plasterers are never noted for their intellect but by any standards you are a plasterboard floorboard.. The 'mud' (your brains ?) you refer to is calcium sulphate hemihydrate ie GYPSUM Not Cement! Also it is pink in colour, although as youtube compress the pixels so much, this I will forgive. Chalo Pakistan ka tum pagell Bahinchudd hey.

  • @flipingidiot2

HA HA HA HA HA,,,,,,, dohhhhhhhhhhh.

  • plastering is shit money

  • @505fletcher505 your either working for the wrong people then or you are shit at your job

  • @CJMUZZI69ER

You tell 'em Muzz, i'd agree with that. lol

  • also he makes out that taking it off of your hawk is done entirley with the hawk holding hand and says the other doesnt move but this is not necessarily true, and sometimes you need to take it off the opposite end of the hawk, i just find that he seems so cock sure of his ways but what he says doesnt always accuratley represent how each plaster should do it as we all have slightly different ways of doing things but if your gonna make out that what your saying is the only way then make sure it is

  • @CJMUZZI69ER . When i first started plastering, we used to put on "3 coats" of Siriphite finishing, )1st coat,, trowel, 2nd coat,, "setting float", 3rd coat,, trowel. This Siriphite was put onto a sand, cement and lime float coat. I'm like you, self employed, a sole trader. I work in my local area doing mostly domestic work. You sound like a good spread,,, keep at it and good luck to ya.

  • @TheRoughcaster no worries mate where else can people express their opinions so openly apart from youtube!

  • @TheRoughcaster I remember sirapite b, blue bag half the time grey. it was a pig, after a couple of years a old West Indian spread showed me a good method, first coat sirapite, then a piss coat of thistle board finish, polished up a treat. A few firms still tell you they are using sirapite, if you say you are used to it they put the phone down, must be twenty five years since it was last made. Enjoyed reading your comments mate, full respect. RontheBuilder.

  • @CJMUZZI69ER I think arrogant is the word most used to describe me, cocksure doesn't quite do me justice. I enjoyed reading your comments and discourse, in my defense I had no say over the editing, you are quite right about the taking off the hawk, when I first saw the vid I thought I should have said a simultaneous flick of both wrists, but I cant bottle hindsight. It is what it is, a harmless snapshot of a arrogant spread lying about his wages to wind up other soreads. Be lucky.. RontheBuilder

  • if you want well imformed info or help from a qualified experienced plasterer ...... then dont watch this video! lmao

  • if you are charging people £25 a sqm then you are ripping them off! take this video with a pinch of salt as its not very well imformed, you havnt or didnt mention the fact that you should do 2 coats and also its not called unibonding, unibond is the name of a company that makes pva, but some people still call it unibonding, either way this video is as much of a joke as the guy in it!

  • @CJMUZZI69ER

Watch it again Halfwit!!! He mentioned putting on two coats, and he put on two coats.

Most people with half a brain know that Uni-Bond is PVA.,, they don't need a "no-brainer" like you telling them. So tell us all how good you are at plastering. How do you go about plastering a spiral underneath a staircase, onto eml??? Bet you haven't got a clue.

  • @TheRoughcaster i did watch it again and still i heard no mention of a second coat, all he said was he was gonna flatten it in, and your the idiot bcoz unibond ISNT pva! unibond is the name of a company that makes pva! so stop making yourself look like an idiot, and yes i have done spiral staircases on eml! so shut your fat face you retard! i have several years experience working as a plasterer and have done nvq lvl 3 on it, so dont try and tell me about it! your a faggot

  • @CJMUZZI69ER

Hey,,, arsehole,,, listen again at 5.07,, he distinctly says, (wait for it),, second coat. He says it "TWICE",,,, that's TWICE.

What's a setting float then?,, what's it made of? What's it used for?? bet you don't know. I bet you've learnt plastering on one of those courses. Hmm.

  • @TheRoughcaster ok ok i did hear it that time, i just assumed that when he said he was gonna flatten it in that was it, as you dont ussually need to flatten it in between coats and over trowelling causes blisters! you lay the 1st coat on and then you lay the second coat on after, no need for flattenning in as this causes problems and when your spreading 20+sqm on 1 wall or ceiling you dont have time to flatten in between coats anyway, if you spread it well minimal trowelling is needed!

  • @TheRoughcaster on to your question.... i think you have setting float mixed up with "set and float", which ussually refers to rendering ready for skim or can be external, 2 coat render 1st coat scratch coat, ussually with a higher cement ratio than the float coat, could be 3:1/4:1 sand:cement depending on the wall surface, i always use half building sand and half sharp as the sharp sand is stronger and doesnt crack as easy and the building sand gives a better finish, second coat, a thin float

  • @CJMUZZI69ER Cheers for all you've written CJMUZZ. I never meant to be so rotten in my replies to you. I can understand your opinion of the plastering video. I think the man is a good plasterer, and like most things in life, if you're good at the job and you make it look easy, sometimes people can appear to be cocky. The "setting float" i mentioned is a tool you wont see much of nowadays.

  • @TheRoughcaster cont...... second coat would be a higher ratio of sand 5/6:1 depending also on wether you are using lime in the mix aswell, coats would be screeded off using a feather edge, either off of preset beads or can be done other ways such as box screeds, finally it is finished with a plastic float for plain faced render or can be scracthed again for a coat of skim on internal walls. also a plasticiser would be used in the mix commonley known as febmix, although lime is a plasticiser

  • @TheRoughcaster what do you want to ask me about next? bell casts? rough casts? stop beads? lime plastering? lathe and horsehair? floor screeds? direct bond? dry lining? ashlar? fibrous casting? k render? because i can save you the hassle, i have done everything and i have been doing it since i left school at 16, did a 3yr apprenticeship with a building company and have been working for myself ever since

  • @TheRoughcaster you make yourself sound like a dickhead, but i guess its coz your sooo old and decrepid your mind has broken down! "how do you plaster a spiral staircase on eml" easy peesy pal, i have done it several times, but havnt always used eml as its mostly used on things like wooden lintels and surfaces that have no adhesion properties, as for the spirals, done it several times, its NOT hard! and for you to think it would be just shows how little you know, thats my everyday job idiot!!!!

  • I wish I could get away with mixing half bags up. Jesus.

  • hi i really struggle with cielings my shoulders ow, im not a trained plaster more diy who has learned im not the fastest but i do like plastering especially when you get that marble finish and know youve done a good job. also learning save you alot of cash, if you scared to try it start on small wall till you get it right but thing that used to get me was the waiting for it to go off so you can flatten out, normally 20/30min pending on weather condition top viedo :)
