@JRenneaC yea u can use that or browning..thats how my aunt teach me but everybody have their own style..i like to put carrots sweet pepper and a lil piece of ginger as well.
I didn't know you had another cooking video! I like this recipe! The haters need to take a nap, lol! Anywho, my Mom use to brown chicken the same way when I was growing up. I have some chicken I cut up and seasoned in the freezer.. I might do this and post a response. I'm sure dinner was yummy:) btw, i use to add water to my food too; I would be annoyed when my Mom didn't have to, lol! Now I don't. I guess the secret is frying the onions first and then adding the meat; keeps it moist:)
Cool I didnt know you had a cooking vid. Whats with the haters though? I should post a vid on how I do my stew chicken :). You should do more cooking vids
@TheKenyon2010 Hear you nah! I never said I was a professional cook. I never said or claim to be a professional film maker lol. If you do not like the quality of my video, BOUNCE! I watched ur pelau vid and wzs wondering if you could send me detailed instructions on ingredients and prep. i'm seeing a guy fron Grenada and pelau is his favorite dish so i dont want to eff it up. plz????
Yes i believe you can use browning sause (i add it when the meat don't get brown as i want it, it happens lol) instead. I used brown sugar. (white granulated sugar can be used as well.
Just to say don't mind nobody bout your dutch pot. There is no West Indian household that does not have at least one dutchie in their cupboard. The one I use my mum was using from I was a child, so you can imagine how it BLACK LIKE TAR!!!! Going to do a chicken curry tomorrow using the Trini browning technique also going to try my hand at making some Roti: )
Ok so I have been cooking in this pot for awhile. Yes it's black inside (and stained, yes i scrub it well!!) and my kitchen looks a bit hap hazard (messy) BUT in no way am I dirty people. Keep the negative comments outta here. Please and thanks.
Delish! I'm gonna see if I can do this tomorrow. This looks like something that'll last me awhile...good to pack for lunch. I'll probably make it a bit spicy since I like spicy food! Thanks!

@Suebaruu i think you might have burnt the sugar too long,as soon as it starts to bubble and turn black in colour, trow in your meat.

@Suebaruu You brown the sugar too much. Looks like in this video they kind of did too. When doing it dont let it get black! Dark brown is fine
