Imagine writing a song, a beautiful song...and adding a FUNKYASS beat=a strong down home sound that sticks to one's rib's as it electrify's the sense's. Now, many a year(s) later-another jewel of the nile repeats his/her aliances's by covering the same tune and beat; a joyful repeat. Good try Brotha' Cube; you did your best...however less:)
2 dislikes? If I find out who you are you are not safe. What am I gonna do? I'm gonna find you. I'm gonna come round your house. I'm gonna put this song on. Then I'm gonna make sweet (consensual) love to you all night long.
@AnkerBanker123 no it wasnt, you can sent a message with your mobile, the you got the name an artist of the song, in gta 4 it was from isley brothers. =)
@Teaone2001 its all good thats the reason people sample tracks, not only to put their own spin on the song but to pay homage to some of the songs they love from the past
Ice did this song good it was like a modern version of but he did justice but he aint the only one who samples songs i hear alot of rappers who do you just gotta know old school songs like me or just a damn good memory ! :)
I remember when I was younger dancing in a circle with my brother and sister singing and jammin' to the music. I miss those times when if was so carefree and fun.
The Isley could were/are as funky as hell...... The could groove there ass off. They had a way of playing in that medium tempo range that would just get you vibing hard.
no shit dude. dilla flipped THIS beautifully. as in he took THIS song and flipped it on won't do. god damn and this song was definately not a 90s hit.
With regards to this tune "Footsteps in the dark" I hunted down the album and eventually found the album in a second hand record shop - the album is called "Go for you guns".
But when Ice Cube bought out the single called its been a "Good DAY" with that video. It just made it even better, or made the record sound even better.
How did they thing up of a bassline like that. I mean its not that difficult to play, but its so hypnotic together with the drum beat and the guitar. Wow!
Released in 1977 on the "Go for you Guns" album. I was just too young in regards to going out and buying my own records to get this the first time around. However, I did pick it up through listening to my Aunties albums say around the early 1980's etc etc...
I couldn't believe it when first heard "Between the sheets" first time around. I went out and bought the album as soon as I heard it. With regards to this song. I just couldn't find the album in my home town of Ipswich at the time.
This song takes me back to 1976. I saw the Isley Brothers in concert at the Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi. They were spectacular! The weather was terrible. It was storming, raining cats and dogs, but, it didn't matter. Everybody in the place was high mostly from the brothers' music : ) Needless to say, this was an event of a lifetime. One of the most memorable times of my life. Thanks Bros Isley for your music, the happiness, and the good times it has brought to all of us.
The Isley Brothers sung and played great music. Beautiful love songs one of my faves is, Coolin Me Out but they had so many. I'm proud that their from my home town Cincinnati. Well actually they are from Lincoln Heights about twenty minutes from Cincy,
@jfuya2000 - Good shout on these two excellent singles. There are many more excellant singles that they have released over the years. Too many too mention really. I hope that they have inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame????
Word!!! A perfect example would be Mary J. Blige. Listen to her laid back song "All Night Long" that she made in the late 80's-90's and now look at her recent songs. It pretty much got caught up in this bang bang bling bling bullshit hasn't it?
I'll say this, you choice in music is OFF THE HOOK!!!
