my sister is the difficult kind, often; luckily she prefers to be solo, though I don't believe it's good for her -
and wow, "I'll forever be in your mind, the difficult kind" - ever have a love that goes bad, until the open-hearted feeling is all covered in emotional scar tissue, and the love just won't come anymore?
A friend told me "if you love someone, treat them wonderfully; if not, get the hell out" -- words of wisdom: life is short, and happiness can be hard to find -
No sure how you can listen to this and not be simply blown away. Her edgy vocals and guitar work make a song of regret and lost love come alive. One of the best of the best.
This my favorite Sheyl crow tune. Its haunting and is set apart from her other upbeat music. I don't doubt anyone here has ever gone through this type of hurt......And remember There ain't nothing like regret to remind you you're alive.
This is the track ..that I post to my ..future woman . She 'knows' I'm a pain in the ass ..but she knows my heart is pure. .. this song ..gives me a chance........ what a beautiful song , I love Sheryl Crow, ...
@muffmaster-couldn't agree more with u, u gotta have some serious heartache to really feel the full brunt of what that line says-one word describes the song and it's melody for me--HAUNTING
@TheKamikoo Exactly. Everytime I hear this song my heart breaks a little for her. The pain she must have felt during and after the Eric Clapton thing was clearly bad. This song is pleading. It's so honest. She put it out there. I'd never have the guts and I hope I never experience that kind of heartbreak...again.
My favorite Sheryl Crow song. It's one of those songs that makes you think about your life - makes you think of that one person you were once in love with, and deep down, probably still are. That person you still think of after your partner falls asleep. Haunting.
Fantastic! Great song. Great mix. She is such a grounded performer. Always sings from her heart. Best in my life since The Beatles. Check out her new Song "Summer day" on Face book
I love this song... I think Sheryl Crow should have released it on Country Radio...It would have been a great hit...She is Rock...She is Country...She is bluesy...She is amazing!!!!
I'm reminded of a line in an old Crosby Stills and Nash song Carry On. It goes - to sing the blues you have to live the dues, and carry on. You just KNOW Sheryl had to go through this herself in order to write a song this good
She's recorded a lot of great, really well written songs. But this is still one of my all time faves.
Almost like a hymn to lost love. Who gets through life without having stood in those shoes somewhere along the way?
One of my favorite bits is at 4:34-4:38 where the fiddle heads south as the pedal steel soars up northward. The emotional effect is like tears flowing.
And one of my favorite lines is "there's nothing like regret to remind you you're alive". Painfully true.
Como pude vender o cd da sheryl com essa música?Onde estava com a cabeça?Essa música é linda bem como todas as outras desse álbum.E agora pra achar outro cd?
There's nothing like regret to remind you you're alive...With that lyric alone makes me think she's have to had a life like mine.A chilling, and haunting song, addicts can relate to,sadly.
I think this is her best work. I remember the first time I heard it, along time ago. It's the most powerful thing from her, or just about anybody else, I have heard in years.

Awesome song. I shut my eyes and I see the threesome I enjoyed with Sheryl and Shirley Manson. man it was fantastic. Sheryl was the "difficult kind" until she rode my quivering piss stick and munched on Shirley's red muff. It went on like that all night. Wow great song.
Awesome song,i shut my eyes and see a desert at dusk with lighting in the far distance for some reason, its one of those songs you play over and over maybe to remember someone.
I think the real beauty of this song is the line, "Cause Babe, I've changed...". She honestly may not have, but NOTHING is sadder than a beautiful woman begging.
she did pbs concert that was taped at the same time as her "rockin the globe" dvd with this song on it, that made me want to buy bear stearns, the bahamas, and other low grade, affordable luxuries and just sit on a beach and stare off into the sun!
This is my favorite of all Sheryl Crow songs...I just keep it on repeat when I'm in the mood to listen to it. It's one of those songs I never get tired of. Thanks for posting it! :)
