  • I love the song and I love the album and the production by joe boyd.

  • I've been listening to this album & particularly this song over & over the past couple of days. The production has its merits, but I never really noticed anything negative about it until I read the above; each to their own I guess.

It's a beautiful song & a lovely arrangement which is a very difficult thing to get right with traditional folk songs.

  • I have to agree about the production which is top notch. It's Joe Boyd for heaven's sake, the man's a genius. The production on the next couple albums after this was way too slick sounding.

  • great album and a great song.

  • Love this album.

  • how did i not comment on this more than a year ago?... fun and sad...

  • Wishing Chair shits all over In My Tribe's corporate stance.

  • @Wolfington Agreed. John was such an important part of the band and it's heart . When he left they became a pop band. Still put out some great music, but for me all the stuff before In My Tribe was the Maniacs best.

  • great version

eliza carthy did an interesting version wish someone could post

  • The production is not good ( ????????? )

was produced by Joe Boyd.. is great

  • Such a change from this album to "In My Tribe". Great Track.

  • As great as "In My Tribe" was I would have liked the band to continue with this type of music. Would they have had to retain John Lombardo to do it? Maybe. But, then again, Natalie was growing up. Nonetheless, I love the poetic, cryptic lyrics and style of music that the Wishing Chair offered.

  • Beautiful voice.
