@smallville456 he rips off labels because labeling has become a part of his life. it's kinda like a symbol for how he himself is always changing identities and is being labeled as an important person or someone that he isn't. his new life is a collection of labels and that is why he also physically collects them, or something along those lines idk we discussed it in some writing class.
