@DuBarryFilms I've seen big female dogs with motherly instincts before, they naturally want to protect the babies. The dog is fine. I've seen it the other way to, when a hand reared sheep had its neck ripped open when it strayed to close to the non-motherly dogs.
Well right off the bat Gladys looks into like i got this feeding baby goats thing down pat no problem. About the 1:40 minute mark she's realizing she's in the middle of a goat pen (I assume) with milk bottle pants standing on a hay bale. What the hell am i doing?
Lol! At 0:32 the girl goat is like hmm.. what to do here.. *turns head* OMG MILK!!! Then she runs up, and starts wagging her tail like a dog :D Then the other goat comes as a distraction, and they just play around, and the Bull Terrier is like, jeez what's with dem goats!
Actually, Gladys was not trained for her session with the Milk Pants. The idea evolved from the fact that Gladys was completely obsessed with the baby goats, she licked them from the moment they were born, & accompanied us to bottle feed them 3 times a day – never missing a session. She cleaned all the little dribbles of milk as they drank & just adored them, lying super still on the ground while they pounced on her when they were small & running with them as they got bigger & bouncier. cont'd
We joked that she would love to feed them herself, if only there was a way for her to hold the bottles. Practice for the video consisted of a failed attempt with a rigged bottle harness – she was too short & bottle angle was wrong, & what you see in the footage. She was less than a year old, & the words stand/stay were not in her vocabulary. She just stood on the hay & wore the pants while we taped & arranged goats.
Gladys, you know how powerful your jaws are right? Strike when the time is right. When they don't expect it. Revenge is a dish best eaten cold. Eaten cold.
Gladys: "This isn't what I signed up for."
