Anwar Sadat had some serious kahones, he knew that a lot of the arab world would turn against him and that he could be assassinated, but he did what was best for Egypt. Israel had no right to do so many things, no right to even create itself out of another people's country, but Sadat sucked up his pride, his dignity, and his fear to stop the violence which was draining his country and to regain the Sinai, which Israel had stolen. Sadat did not sell out the palestinians nor did he sell out the Syrians. They simply refused his initiative and refused to be part of negotiations. So how could he speak for someone who was not there. But he still did not forget about them. Yasser Arafat was a good leader, but he died trying to achieve half of what Sadat tried to achieve in 1977. Putting all biases aside, no one can deny that Sadat foresaw 30 years to the future, which makes him a great visionary and leader.

The Palestinians have the right to blame Egypt for what is happening. Egypt carries the responsibility of the Palestinian case because it was Egypt's Sadat who traded the palestinian issue for peace with the Israelis.

Don't forget that one of the main conditions Israel had was Egypt limiting her involvement in Arab issues. Egypt created the PLO and Ahmad alShoqari and used both for its interests. So, you don't have the right to say that Egypt helping the Palestinians for their "black eyes"!
