  • yea with one fucking leg and a single pedal your fucking dumb if you think thats a waste of talent

  • 16'' hats?

  • @Fernandoandretn 2 Zildjian A Custom crashes. As hi hats.

  • Where would this assclown be w/out affirmative action? get of the stage skankass

  • @realdrummer110 Dude, I don't know who the fuck you are, but I'd love to see ANY of your drumming videos hold a candle to this 'Assclown'.

  • i think that thomas is faster than john bonham, but not as powerful as him!

Listen to Bedlam in goliath. It's awesome!

  • i use the same thing.. and when i play live people r like thats a single pedal? haha

  • Comment removed

  • Man said while watching Law & Order... That was funny :p

  • congrats. and your point is.

  • Apparently, someone cut off John Bonham's right leg and attached it to Pridgen's.

  • @KoryWB

    Sure seems like it.

  • haha i know right

  • Bonzo's foot was super strong, as well as super fast. Tommy is fast, but he still has a bit more soup to eat for his foot to be as strong as Bonzo's.

  • can't even compare the two

  • @PoeticJustice05 I'm not so sure. Bonzo is a legend, but I've seen Thomas Pridgen break his bass head. He's got power.

  • I really hope he continues to be in a band after The Mars Volta.

  • who cares what pedal it is?! its the leg that matters!

  • yea yu right i couldnt see it clearly until they zoomed in itz dw9000 pedal

  • hes using a B.O.A pedal by pdp one of the best pedals ever :) get one they go hard

  • sick pedal bro

  • he usually uses a 9000 doesnt he?

  • its a DW9000 single pedal. it has a spring on it, BOA pedals dont use springs

  • lol ive been trying to figure out his approach and the leg-chopping out,its hardddd, and I HAVE THE SAME DUNKS <3

  • him and nicko have two fo fastest feet ive ever seen...im learning how to do this...its a real pain in the ass lol

  • Check out George Kollias. His name is gkdrummer on YouTube.

  • He left the band. Just got home from a TMV-gig in sweden and Dave/David Elitch was playing. No idea if he's a stand-in for the tour or a permanent stay though.

  • i don't think he is fired. TMV haven't cancelled anything, and posted further news on their site, after alleged split

  • What pedal is he using in this?

  • For me it depends. I do a lot of single/double mixing. There are a few songs my band plays where I'm going 180+ bpm on the double pedal. I just like the double 'cause it adds some unique flavor at different times, but I don't over do it.

But IMO, believe it or not, if I'm drum soloing I'll use a single. If I'm playing rhythm to a song I'll use a double.

Thomas was actually going to use a double but Omar told him not to, just so he could amaze people with his single foot speed.

  • You realize that bpm doesn't say a thing when you don't refer to the note value, right? :)

  • well obviously single pedal drummers can still slay but adding a double only allows more possibility... why wouldn't you want more room to grow???

  • Eh... double pedals are ok but in your everyday drumming situations they can be an unnecessary distraction

  • Are you familiar with "metal"?

  • Like i said everyday drumming situations I play as well but 9 times out of ten im playing something else. at your average gig a double pedal is unecessarr

  • @MikePostDrums ja n beeetje :D

  • Oh, zou ik niet gedacht hebben over jou, Jop. :o

  • "like"

  • Vince Roger's is one of the sickest drummers out there! He totally owns Joey Jordison in terms of technique and style. I doubt Jordison can carry smooth timing over the accelerated time changes that vince plays over. Zach Hill is another great drummer as well, check him out.

  • jon karel i'm tellin you

  • I agree that to be able to ride on endless double bass blast beats and then to be able to execute technical single bass techniques is totally different. It's not easy to perform so fast with two pedals, but after a while the dexterity comes quickly. However, with one pedal, to be able to do 16th note patterns and above is looked on as much more masterful. I'd say less drummers today can perform well with just one pedal rather than 2.

  • I wanted to see if you thought the same way I did....If you take away his dp.....he's got nothing?

    So I agree with you....lol

  • i want to see thomas play some death metal!!!! hahaha

  • thomas is way to talented to play gay ass death metal beats. that would be wasting his talent

  • I absolutely agree however I would like to make a quick note that they would proabably be the SICKEST death metal beats ever. Because he'd still be thomas.

  • i think the "hahahhah" kinda meant he was kidding

  • @robertcochransvideos hes never played death metal o.o

  • @JorgeRodriguezDrums i know. He probably doesn't want to waist his time with that boring crap.

  • @robertcochransvideos so did Marco Minnemann, an even better drummer, waste his time in Necrophagist?

  • @DissYraiN honestly, yes he did. lol his talent surpasses metal.

  • i for one love thomas not only for his unique style but also for his awesome single bass skills dont get me wrong i think double is fine i mean its all about preferance but for me i favore single cuz u get more of a groove. alot of drummers on the music scene today seem single pedal illiterate its all double bass im not bashing double but i think that sing pedal is way underestimated

  • for sure man, i use a double but have come to realize that i didn't start off with one like some kids. after about 3 or 4 years i got one, but i had that time to practice solely with the single. i think a lot of kids these days start off with a double just because of the hype it has and don't ever try to just use one pedal, therefore never having true technique with a single pedal.

  • Your totally right. Cause I did lol. But now I hardly ever use it. I love my hihat too much. :)

  • yeah totally when i started drumming 2 years ago i got a double kick kinda a mistake casue i hardly even use it now ever...

  • I agree with you somewhat...but some things do become easier with a certain pedal...ya know? lol

And I don't disagree with you on Joey Jordison...what ways do you think he sucks!

  • But see if you focus on getting both feet fast...if your right handed or left handed...either one the other side is naturally weak....so you'll use more of one than the other...I just prefer getting complete control over one foot!...and too if you get as good as Thomas and learn other rudiments...chops..etc you can make it sound like dp! its not all about Joey Jordison playing...its more about little areas of speed!

  • i'm not sure if its the camera but that bass drum sounds like a machine gun. thomas pridgen is awesome

  • what pedal does he use?? anyone know?

  • its a dw 9000

  • DW 9000 single.....you get that pedal and practice like he says.....you'll be awesome in 2 years time!

  • he definitely uses single pedal on all of bedlam.

  • damn. makes me wanna work even more on a single pedal. great foot technique.

  • this guy is seriously one of my biggest inspirations ever...he makes it looks soo god damn easy

  • wow. i thought he used a double bass from the sound of the album. aha. wow. i feel stupid now.

  • wrong :)

  • he can play dpuble bass and you can see it in a bunch of solo, but concerning mars volta he doesn`t use double bass there. He mentions it a lot in interviews and you can actually hear it.

  • Correct. Cedric one time stopped the show and said (paraphrased) "You see this right here? Single pedal. So any of you non-believers out there, here's your proof."

  • lol, if that's true, that's an AWESOME story....

  • i was at that show, it was at the phoenix in toronto.

  • I was there too, Cedric even made a statement about his abss drum being single.

  • and getting pissed at all the cigarettes being smoked

    such a sick show

  • Seen Mars Volta live, he uses a single pedal every time.

  • this guy.

    is a motor

  • naw its just the fast twitch muscle fibers in his calf. He's been trainin those since he was like ten. Its a whole lot easier than it looks the hard part is controlling completely

  • where was the clinic ?

  • so he doesnt uses the heel-toe technique?

  • I don't think he uses heel toe at higher tempos. Man, everytime I see this guy play it inspires me. Thank you Pridgen!

  • God, his foots must be blessed or something...
