  • I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong but i do believe that is called a properly called a marlin spike. A "FID" has a hole in the back side to fit your line into, to use more like a needle.

  • i learned hown to make these in jail goodd place for arrts n crafts

  • Is there a part 2 to this video I was just wondering how you created the blue part before your added the orange! It seem awesome to make but I willing to give a shot!

  • @JustKnotLT Ha! I knew it! Bud Really was a special kind of guy. I'm glad you also came to know him.

  • Great video. I'm sure glad you filmes it and posted it. Thank you for doing that.

That marlinspike you were using sure does look like a stainless steel Bud Brewer; is it? I have two made by him and they are treasured possessions of mine.

    Cheers.

  • @Haarmonics

Indeed it is Bud Brewer's fid... That might sound a bit selfish but I'm going to miss his craftsmanship a lot

  • This is the most difficult knot i have ever learned in my life. and i have done alot of knots in my life

  • Thanks for the excellent tutorial.

  • That is a cool looking knot. What can you use it for?

  • @P3313 Some people have tried to swallow it and the lucky ones are still alive.

  • beautiful fid you have there

any suggestion on how much cordage to use for this? using cord on a big spool, dont want to cut off 2 much.

  • Ooops my mistake... It's 7x6 - not a 7x8 as I stated before

    Sorry for misleading.

  • What a great knot. Would you consider making a video of the 7x8 knot? I followed the directions from another site and end up with my start end being "over" instead of "under". I turned it inside out and travelled in the other direction. It came out wrong somehow as I never ended up running parallel to the start end of the added cord (1:10 in the video). I'll recheck my knot to be sure it's 7x8.

  • What are the dimensions of the initial Turk's Head? 7x8? I can't tell from the video.

  • Woooow,
