  • Lefty

  • I bet those niggers there were schooling the fuck out of this asian kid

  • he's got a nice spin hook

  • Hes missin his layups...

  • yea I'd question his ability to play basketball

  • his right hand sucks

  • i cant see any jumping techniques in the testing ...

  • I like the song who sings it?

  • @TheCv18 Talib Kweli

  • What song is this?

  • 2:08 that´s a good drill, very hard

  • It shows at 4:27 the lack of explosion. He got his man up in the air after a double jab step then head fake, and still couldnt manage to explode with that first step to get by him for an easy layup

  • 2:32 is an epic fail

  • i cant believe this guys has a ring

  • Comment removed

  • Did like him originally, but saw him play in preseason...he is scared and is super lazy..

  • 5:17

    is that kobe in yellow?

  • @juicydonut nah i dont think so he looked differnent when he slightly turned his head.

  • @juicydonut probably hes like the lakers second coach

  • Why Sun yue went to Beijing Aoshen Olympians in 2009?

  • Lotsa mindreaders making comments, you have to understand that perhaps his background is not the same as most others, perhaps he didn't know why they were taking these specific measurements, get off his back. He's got game and it's going to be around for a while, maybe not in the NBA, but the NBA is not the WORLD anymore.....

  • loool is he even still on the lakers

  • 2:22.............. thats why we say he sucks..CMONNN he got blocked by the bottom of the backboard..ive seen better players at 24 hr fitness.

  • @kimlin everybody misses, i mean he is on the nba, so hes better than anybody in 24hr fitness

  • he looks lazy as shit...

  • he is in the nba cos he is tall...

  • dude wtf was with his layups. hahahaha

  • dude wtf was with his layups hahahahaa

  • sun is a bitchass... straight up.

  • sun was burning that dude

  • whoever was guarding sun sucks.

he was forcing him left...SUN IS A LEFTY.

  • lol, i'm a lefty too. now then i realised why those who played with me said they doesn't like playing with a left hander like me. lol

  • Dont vote McGrady, he doesnt deserve it.

Poor kid never got a real chance in the nba

  • 2010 nba all-star game VOTE MCGRADY!!! we almost have the votes to get him in the game!!! vote NOW!!

  • How about Yao Ming? =( he's a very good Blocker.

  • Yao Ming's all star level... not even close to any other asian baller.

  • i like the music, anyone know where the song is from or what it's called?

  • sun wasnt looking so good on those layups.

  • Weight-217

    height-6'9"

    5.5 body fat

    Reach-8'8" 1/2 (my is 7'3" lol)

  • very good player

  • he's got very good handles for a 6'9 guard.

  • i would like to see Kobe doing this and showing the numbers

  • he's pretty bad at paint to play in the nba, must be lots of players can block his shot

  • im guessing your talking about the lay up drill at 2:10...that drill was to see how many he could make in 30 seconds so it was about speed not if he could do it over a defender cuz he usually dunks it plus he is a point guard so other then help defence he will only see people half his size

  • Comment removed

  • No, i mean he just seems not strong enough at paint, even NBA draft talked about this point. he might be a special player in CBA(chinese basketball association), but just not in the NBA. the lakers would chose him was mainly because of the huge chinese market, plus he did well in summer league. but now you can see what's happening

  • true ..i hate comparin him to yao but yao also had difficulty when he first came into the league with all the physical contact but after he learned and got used to it then he was fine..and i hardly think 2.8 minutes per game for 10 games is enough to go on seeing if he is good enough for the nba..most players take a couple years in the league till they actually reach there potential or not

  • players like gilbert arenas and jermaine o'neal are a good example of that

  • he did pretty good one on one

  • i was just gonna say that.

  • he has no right. gotta work on that i sure he's gonan get a lot better

  • Sun Yue is sick....hes chinese and won a ring in his rookie year and he didnt do shit...thats how good he is lmaooo jkss. But its good that hes with knicks now,he will have more playing time and develop skills hes got a ring already so all he needs to do now is play sick lol

  • 2:32....wtf????

  • um at 2:32

  • i still didnt understand why those guys always gave him a left driving lane when he is left handed, thats bad defence.

  • how the hell is he in the nba missing shots on i guess a form of the mican drill???

  • um... who doesnt miss shots... name one person who made all his shots in his life

  • well maybes hes nervous cause this could mean either being what you want to be or having to wait for another oppertunity

  • wow no off hand

  • he is a really nice guy. if you know him you will know that.

  • hes young....your retarded

  • as much as i like him, he's all footwork, speed & height. hope his shot & dunking improves this summer.

  • he runs a 3-5-0 in the 40 thats fast

  • not a forty...

  • guys whoever says that he is taking odoms spot is dumb b/c he is a 6 foot 9 point guard like magic, but he can also play the 2 and 3

  • look so unhappy

  • 2:50

  • kinda plays like hedo turgkolu

  • u wish china man!!

  • hes pretty good

  • He has a nice little jumper. The Lakers really do have a deep bench.

  • i say take out jordan farmar and put this guy in, that is just my imo, keep lamar

  • Taking Odoms spot next year if they dont re-sign him.

  • fuck u!

  • to the people saying 32 inches is a bad vert wtf?? that is the average vert for an NBA player!! so obviously that is not bad...a 34 max vert at his height is enough for him to hit his head to an NBA backboard!

  • He played great in the Olympics. I think he has a bright future, I hope the Lakers stick with him. He'd be a big matchup problem if he got the skills down.

  • wow, his vertical leap is so weak.....

  • lols wtf? i bet hell be big sometime. gota give him 2-3 years to work on his game

  • he needs to work on his agility and explosiveness

  • for a future nba player, he missed a fair bit of layups

  • i agree but maybe he had a bad day, who knows

  • u have to understand that the entire workout was not 5:46. he was probably doing a lot of running and other shit before playing the guy. for all u fucking spectators out there: do u know how tiring it is to actually play a real game of one on one after a real workout? think about that

  • midget

  • @arthus123 Sun Yue is 6'9". I didn't know 6'9" was considered midget. Know your facts but you trash talk.

  • @benbored My dick is 6'9, lol jk, anyway that comment was directed at a guy who was dissing Sun not at Sun

  • @arthus123 6'9

  • @arthus123 he's got one more ring than any of us lol

  • it must be nerve racking being watched by all those people thats probably why he missed those layups

  • he worked his ass off in training camp

  • I don't believe that he skips practice. The laker franchise is pretty strict on their contract agreements, such as vladamir radmonovic's shoulder injury while snowboarding. Sun Yue is just sent to the D-League to develop his skills at the NBA level. He needs to work on making the transition from the international game to the NBA game. I like his game too. He just needs to build the quickness for a point guard.

  • is it true that sun yue occasionally not attending practices in the nba and that hindrance him on getting enough playing time with the lakers and be send to the nba-d league? mm..well..just curious..by the way..he got potential./

  • who knows the name of the black guy that 1 on 1 with sun? is he strawberry that play pre-season game for houston rockets?

  • i think he has potential and i hope Sun will glow up soon.

  • Can you say Tayshaun Prince the II in a few years?

  • No!

  • He is very good!

  • HE HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL !!! 2 Or 3 Years With Kobe Helping Him Improve, He Will Be A Beast.

  • only 32 inch vertical??? thats not impressive at all

  • For a 6'9" guy, it's pretty good.

  • i think he is really a good player, has potential

he should started from some mid core team like Suns, Spurs, etc, not lakers

  • Comment removed

  • By seeing him play a few minutes during games I thought he sucked, but after seeing him in this tryout I can see he has potential.

  • he really does, he just needs more minutes to show ppl how good he is, but i dont think he will be successful in Lakers. cuz lakers is too strong this year.

  • Yeah he has the potential to blow a lot of crucial layups.

  • nce skills

  • i reckon he mainly shood concentrate on his shooting.

  • why are people saying he sucks?Atleast he made to the NBA not like u people commenting here all day saying he sucks

  • true that

  • @xTheBlackCatxd I definitely agree. I mean I am a bit biased, being an American Born Chinese, but you have to respect the fact that the man did make it into the NBA, the most competitive basketball league in the entire world.

  • @xTheBlackCatxd he does not suck BUT he is not ready to play in the NBA yet. There are hundreds of players just like him not to mention those who are better than him... the point is that he is part of NBA's marketing campaign to promote bball and attract even more viewers from asia. If you don't get the why think this: NBA attracts more viewers, viewers watch tv ads, advertiser pay the NBA to keep showing their ads, NBA wants more money, more money comes with more viewers so NBA attracts more..

  • All man..i want a pro tryout soooo bad!!

  • raptors12349 no one who make it into nba sucks... zzz.. they have potential but just need time, scouts arent paid to just to look at the best they're paid to look at the best and the above average players which will make a statement for the team in years to come

  • hes good he just needs to get in the game more and shoot the ball when hes open, not stand like a dooshbag and just pass the ball

  • Thanks for the video. I hope he does well in the NBA

  • where were you born angelo............. well i was born in mmp

  • Hes 6' 9", weighs 215 pounds, & plays POINT GUARD... how is he gonna get bumped around? Tayshaun Prince looks like he never touched weights in his life and look how good he is playing SMALL FORWARD.

  • yea now that you mention it he does look like tayshaun (body wise) but i dont condonn that type of structure in the nba ie nerdy baller type we use to beat that type of body down at our courts GeT ThAt wEaK ShIt OuTTa HuRr!!!

  • I agree. Most of the best players are very strong (MJ, Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, etc.)

  • Nice talent. The Lakers should be playing this guy at least in garbage time. Activate him, Lakers! Put Chris Mihm and Josh Powell on the inactive list, please.

  • i think he needs to work on shooting

  • best of luck 2h im

  • nice young player

  • Sun Yue got his fist score in nba!! :)

  • He officially made the Lakers roster, they see his potential, I saw him do well last night in the preseason game, give him 2 years and the man will be a beast, I mean fuck man he already looks better than luke walton, ive never seen walton dunk once, he's gonna be fuckn good man

  • lol i've had the privilege of seeing luke walton dunk once... he got like 3 inches over the rim lol.

  • i wanna see u him play !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wayne go back to ur bitch lil wayne

  • i try to do dat layout shit, its hard to switch from your shooting hand to your off hand... its harder than it looks

  • He's the 5th Chinese player in the NBA right?

  • right

  • man youngwayne, you try doin those workouts and i bet you probably couldnt make those layups with your shooting hand and offhand. Sun could probably cross you over too.

  • well fuck yall niggas im exited 4 sun

  • why you guys giving him a thumbs down? he has a valid point, plus he tall as hell. Did u see that one where he misses the basket completely and hits the back board?

  • why you guys giving him thumbs down for? he's just trying to justify what he thought needed to be brought to peoples attention

  • haha i thought it was kinda sadd too but it realli doesnt matter cause it looks like hes pretty freakinng good

  • easy to say when you are watching. he was probably nervous (at least a little bit).

Wait until you get a tryout with the NBA and you will emphathize a bit. Oh wait...you will probably never get a tryout in the first place.

  • that 13 year old sounds impressive. hahahahahahaha. lol all talk online bro. lakers will have a pretty tall line up if they use this guy. and phil like usin tall guys so it should be interesting. but even more interesting. CLIPPERS.

  • yall niggas is crazy this niggas hella fast at 6'9 are you serious

  • lol hes not black dude. Calm down with the N word

  • anice121 i agree with you..he kind of drbbles the ball like pustal pete maravich...holy shit look out..Sun Yue hes great!!

  • yeah that dudes mad nice wit the rock

  • he'll be a great player. when fisher retires, farmar could start and sun could play backup

  • Sun did have a 10.68 in the lane agility drill (top 3 at the 2007 Orlando Camp). In this video he had 10.50. Sun is very quick and would be very good at more of defensive type point guard and post up guard rather than a slasher type.

  • can you say yao ming

  • i agree your not in the nba

  • he's really slow 3.5 in the 3'4 court sprint in football i ran a 5.02 40 and in the 3/4 court sprint i ran 3.46

  • I really don't think anyone gives a shit how fast you ran it, sun is most likely bigger than your small ass and considering his size he OWNS your small ass.

  • good job. work hard and get in the nba.

  • Yea, good for you dumbass, once again no one gives a sh1t about what you averaged cuz you're just another unknown amateur, + you must be failing PD/H/PE class cuz you fail to understand that mobility and speed is usually dependant on height. The taller someone is . eg. DIrk, Yao, the slower they are.

  • lol...yea good luck...wait until you get to high school where at tryouts kids are at least better than you by miles. Stick with school kid.

  • i think this guy is overrated, but i hope im wrong.

He have never played in a truly good basketball league, chinese basketball league, summer league, that are leagues that cant show what this kid cud do in the NBA. Ive seen 2 matchs of him in the olimpic games, and he rlly left me cold, he have been playing a avg of +28min every game and i think he cud have done much more, Pau played the same min and he did 19.6 pts +7 rebounds etc etc for 6.8 pts and 1.7 rebounds of this guy..hope im wrong.

  • Hes decent but not something to rave about, like all these thousands of posted videos may suggest

  • I think all he needs is stamina and experience and hes good to go

  • I think you laker fans got a good pick....

You guys say he cant handle the ball but he can...Your idea of ball handling is flashy moves that look cool...He dribbles with a purpose and can iso very well for a guy his height. He can also pass super well...He utilizes his height and court vision to see the court. His jumper isnt that bad either... I think he is a great player. I like players like him because he plays mroe traditional ya know? Look at his one on one...he has got that spin move down

  • ya ima lakers fan and im excited about him!! you pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything...his handles are AI with all the flare but he has good ball control. his court vision is very impressive, i see why they call him chinas magic...hopefully he'll fit in well with the lakers and soon be a good back up for Farmar who should be starting in the next year or two once fish retires

  • i agree he dribbles like pistol pete maravich

  • He can't be a guard with his kind of handling and too one dimension for inside, but he'll might make a great small forward.

This seems to be the trend with recent chinese players in NBA. Tall guys playing catch and shoot (Wang, Yin, Yao) but he is not as tall as those centers. He'll have to hone his ball handling to be a good small forward. At this stage, I don't think he will be effective. LA has a big population of Chinese, I think it's the purpose for having a Chinese player on the roster.

  • why does he need to get bigger?

    not everything is size

  • he should be a good player off the bench along with: Jordan Farmar,Sacsha Vujacic,Luke Walton,Vladi Radmanovic.

  • hope for the best for this guy.. he just needs to get bigger n shoot better n he'll b fine

  • I dont see anything special about him, but I would like to see his ball handling a logic without the ball in a real game..

  • He can get success!

  • can be a good bench player, but need get some muscle

  • He looks a lot quicker and agile than how i expected him to be, Let's hope he get some minutes with the Lakers this season.

  • only thing exciting is his one on one skills

  • shasa re-signed

  • Left handed huh!

  • it doesnt matter wut yur vert is

my vert is prolly higher than a lot of NBA player's but thats cuz im 5'11 n theyre like

6'9 and they dont hav to jump that high
