  • That was smooth

  • I never fly KLM because i know some KLM pilots and they have the same arrogance as van Zanten. They will take off when 10 planes are blocking the runway.

  • @GoudGeldGeileBassie lier! All KLM pilots are very motivated and are proffesionals. van zanten is a dick though. But just cause he was an ass doent mean u should not fly with klm

  • @GoudGeldGeileBassie Lol that isn't the case Van Zanten was in a hurry at that time (no excuse-he was the dumbest of the pilots in history) because he had to return back to Amsterdam. KLM is a decent airline and you shouldn't avoid flying with them because of Van Zanten-like people (who don't exist now!)

  • was it raining??????????

  • which seat # were you in? just curiousity

  • Very nice video! I am flying on klm 747 soon to dubai, which seat was it??

    Seat number and that?

  • dang! you need a seeing eye dog to fly in that weather!

  • God bless the ILS :D

  • you have steady hands my friend.

  • my longest flight was 24 hours LHR-Singapore-Melbourne.

  • The longest flight on record is only 22 hours...

    Please don't lie..

  • i'm sorry maybe you should re-read my previous coment It was 24 hours including the stop-over.

if you have nothing nice to say then don't speak atall :)

  • Smooth Landing! :)

  • this plane must've been fully loaded... the deacceleration after touch down is quite slow, but I think it's still okay...is it?

  • Nice Video camera...what kind is it?

  • mine was 27hrs. cph-frankfurt-abu dhabi-lhe

  • mine is 9 hours ams-pop but i`m just 12

  • snow

  • my longest flight was just 4 hours only hahahaahahaahah!

    lol hahah.

by the way, i love when the wings are shaking lol.

  • They didn't thank you for flying with SkyTeam.. OMG lol

  • what a beautiful landing .. damn ...

  • rain?? snow???

  • weather seems like a CATIII so autoland maybe

  • I don't know for sure but it appears to be water or vapour trails to me.

  • my longest flight was Stockholm-London-Sydney-Auckland thats like 30 hrs flying ^^

  • all the sounds are the same after flying all those miles and diving down into HK! ill see u soon HK my pungyao!

  • my longest flight was with Singapore Airlines from Amsterdam to Singapore changi. 13:00

  • that was a loooooooooooooong reverse. wonder if it was by the paper at KLM, afaik it is not by boeing.

  • Perfect landing with that kind of weather, those pilots are really good!

  • those engines + wing are really shaking... I love turbulence :D

  • @amarth23 - lucky you, I wish I loved it but it scares the crap out of me.

  • My longest flight was between your mama's legs!

  • My longest flight (and it will be) from Amsterdam-to melbourne (whit stops) about 25 hours whit stops and taxing.|

    (and got delay at schiphol)

  • my longest flight was to the moon and back

  • Mine KLM 747. 14 hours England, Amsterdam,Nairobi then Addis Ababa....

  • My longest flight was just last month.

    Vancouver-Hong Kong, 14 hours.

    Check out my videos !!

This 747 looks really tough against a unforgiving weather :)

  • mine is 12 hours to africa!

  • my longest flight was sydney to los angeles 15 hours

  • the longest flight i did last for 11h from Rio-Paris with an A332

  • you were lucky, when i touched down in those same conditions,we came to a really sunnden stop

  • awesome !

  • wow...the longest flight i have been on was 12 and a half hours from Frankfurt to Phoenix :O

  • mine was 14 hours to HK

  • how long was that flight?

  • A 747 uses aproximately just over 11 hours from Schiphol to Hong Kong

  • KLM Asia only flies to Taiwan. Airlines flying to mainland China were not allowed to fly to Taiwan by a chinese law for a long time, so KLM founded KLM Asia to do it.

  • no klm asia also flies to tokyo, jakarta ,singapore ,bangkok and london

  • Yes you are right, but they don't fly to London?! KLM ASIA is not a seperate airline, they just keep the ASIA titles to save money, it does cost a lot to take an aircraft out of service and paint it.

  • is this KLM ASIA????

  • Nope, if you look on the winglet the KLM Crown is clearly visable.

  • when i was 3-5 years old, i use to travel with my mom, and flew over 200+ times.

But every time it came to landing i always got scared no matter what happend

  • Mee Lass Eh-lee-ne-ka

Do any of you speak greek

  • yes me

  • altough my national carrier is Singapore Airlines,i still like KLM,its not bad afterall :D i just went there 2 weeks ago and we landed in thick haze :(

  • what was your seat number ?

  • Why does the slat fold back when the reversers come on?

  • The slats provide the extra lift and support better air flow over the wings by lowering to catch the air at high angles of attack when you're going slow and the nose is up while on approach.

So these retract on touchdown to immediately try and 'get rid' of the extra lift the provided on approach. It's a way of keeping reducing the lift the airplane has when it needs to stay on the runway.

  • That would make sense, but the outer ones don't retract so I'm not sure its right. On second viewing, it seems more likely to me that its to get out of the way of the thrust reversers' hot air.

  • Maybe the outer slats are kept lowered because so that the outer wing sections are still supported by some lift component thus reducing stress when running along ground at high speed. Some runways can be bumpy!

Also because 'flying' is a balance of forces you only need to significantly reduce lift to make plane stick to ground well rather than eliminate it altogether.

And outer wing not so significant anyway.

    My 2 cents! :)

  • Hello, nice video, of which place was shot

  • yeah i love hong kong!!

  • everytime i go on a 747 to HK, the wings on the plane look like they going to snap AHH, but i love the engines.

  • is dat niet saai amsterdam-hongkong een half dag in een vliegtuig ik bedoel ik wil graag piloot voor de thy willen worden maar in de CABIN als passagiers?

  • nice video

  • ...i like it

  • i love the engine sounds

  • We KLM pilots are the best!

  • Yeah Sure, because of that mentality the Dutch pilot van Zanten killed more than 500 passengers in the worst airline accident in history.. he though he was the best and he went into history as the best ashole in aviation..!

  • no its both pilots fault

    from klm and the other

    The other, missed their turn,,

And Klm started cause the radio 'didn't the job.

So its not only klm, the other plane also.

  • Two independent report blame van Zanten of that tragedy. there is no mention of any radio problem. It's normal that some miss comunication can occur between pilots and Air Traffic Controllers, that happens daily around the world with no tragedies.. So van Zanten's arrogance was the fatal key ingredient.

  • its both

Klm want to speak too the tower, but Pam air speak also, so Van Zanten hear only Ok

so he though he can go

  • Watched Air Crash Investigation too many times? Or do you want to be a pilot yourself and can't you accept that you're not?

  • The plane kept the reversers on so long becaue the plane was coming in very fast, but KLM is a excellent airliner those new colors are wonderfull. It's not becuase I'm Dutch :P

  • i miss this plane when i went to india

  • hey is KLM any good?

  • they kept the reverse on too long

  • you're right..

  • Haha! Did you have ever seen lufthansa 744's landing at Frankfurt?! They vacate the runwat with reverse on! :P

  • Hong Kong, looking clean as ever! What an excellent destination.

  • There's no such thing is a best pilot...if you are talking about 744 pilots they sure are some of the best

  • thank you :-D

  • dutch pilots r the BEST

  • i couldnt agree with you more

  • wery nice it is a good video I`think it si perfeckt\

  • wow wonderfull and wich is the destination uploader10101 ??

  • Nice video ! Good quality sound.

  • Oh my God, I Remember the Captain Van Zanten in the 1977. I dont Like Fly in the 747 from KLM for that.

  • That's just a plain stupid reason for not flying the KLM 747.

  • Good for you, but is my desition Ok?. and this is my opinion, and KLM not Fly in my cuntry. but i say that because dont like KLM Airlines.

  • Yeah, but if you don't like an airline because of something that happened 31 years ago.... You're not gonna like a lot of airlines as loads of airlines had their major incidents.

  • Thanks for you opinion. bye bye. and dont asnwer my coment please because is only a opinion for me.

  • well dumass this aint mexico or wherevr ur frum so just chill

  • ahhh dude you are so dumb! Reading your comments reminds me of crying faggot baby!! klm is a great airliner and if you dont want to fly with them because of something happend 31 years ago...you're fag!

  • i like the wingflex

  • i know u do!!;)

  • how come ?

  • bleh

KLM should update the Inflight Entertainment System on their 747s.

Glad my last flight with them was on a 772 ^^

  • yeah i know, u have to force ure neck to look at a small screen :S

  • If I can avoid them, I will. I'd even do a stopover in Paris if I can ;)

  • yeah, i will be flying on the klm 747 tomorrow

  • Last time I flew KLM planes didn't even have an Inflight Enterntainment System. :)

I flew KLM a couple of times in the early 90's. I actually enjoyed those flights. Wouldn't know how their service is nowadays.

  • There is not much to see unfortunately!

  • WOW! It looks like the engines will fall out!!

  • Lol it's just the wing flex.

  • I know ;)

    But it's cool to watch!

  • Nice video. Great kiss landing .

  • wow nice landing!!!!

  • how come the a/c was not klm asia but klm mainline? Doesn't KLM Asia's 744 Combi serve routes like HKG,KUL, and other asian destinations?

  • KLM is using the KLM asia's 744 to other places in the world

    not specefic asia

  • This is a great video love the sound quality feels like im in flight. For those in hong kong if you like the ATC radio freq's for HK Airport (new) from tower to plane all airports plane clerance frequencies at hong kong, send me a message I can send them to you for your enjoyment.

  • u noe any freq for ny like jfk

  • Story u asking me, let me know send me a email or message... thanks

  • yeah im asking if u noe freq for jfk intl airport

  • I sent you an email check ur inbox it should be helpful.

    happy listening

  • ty so much

  • ty so much

  • ty so much

  • 119.100 tower

  • this is runway 07L

  • watch myvideo

  • why do the engines open ?

  • That's the reverse thrust vents.

  • klm the best

  • is this economy and wich seat ???

  • this is bussiness

  • I think somebody forgot to turn off all of his portable electronic devices.

  • so?

  • no, u can have ur camera on but u can't have anything that interveras with the signals

  • I know. I was being facetious.

    A note:

u shood lern too spell yer werds better and use yer shift key and stuff. This is a public forum. It is worth spending a little extra time and effort to prevent yourself from looking like a dumb-ass.

  • who gives a fuck? go fuck urself

  • he doesn't know how to fuck anyone or anything, you think that he will know how to fuck himself?

  • (ctmcmull1) people who try to make themselves look clever; like u, r the people who hates

  • you tube is cool,I can turn my monitor into a virtual jet plane window and I can fly to Hong Kong while sitting on my armchair

  • i agree. i loved flying into kai tak. much more fun than chep lap kok at lantau. i suppose it was an old airport.

  • your seat was between 16A and 18A and economy class, right? and was this the 400?

  • Bring back Kai Tak

  • cool

  • This video well demonstrates the flexibility that an aircraft wing sustains during flight which can be seen "wavering" inflight.

  • yea that model , i think the 400 series is an incredible design. If you think of the loads that are being put on that wing its really amazing, that wing can take huge amounts of load per sq. and can flex far past what is necessary. If they didnt flex than they would snap off.Imagine the weight of just one of those GE engines.amazing!

  • Very true mjmoto, when I was in flight school I saw video footage of the B74 being tested for wing stability and the wing was bent 28 (upwards) before it snapped from the fuselage. And yeah, some of the new GE engines can produce thrust around the 125,000-128,000 range (meaning pounds of thrust).

  • i thought klm engines were painted blue

  • very nice engine sound by landing and how long was the flight ? and from wich seat did you take this video

  • On our approach to Hong Kong International (new) we were under the glide slope. The pilot decided to Go Around. So, TOGA power was applied, but then he canceled the Go Around and made the landing anyway. Very scary to be 10-20 meters above water in 767-300.

  • On the 747-400 (not sure about earlier models), the middle set of leading-edge slats automatically stows itself when the thrust reversers are activated. This has something to do with the air currents while the thrust reversers are activated and prevents damage to the slats.

  • Also the most inner slats.

  • What the hack! Looks like the slats between the inboard and the outboard engines didn't deploy.

  • very cool

  • @chumanho Yes they are. When the plane lands the speedbrakes on the back of the wing go up also.

  • The gaps which opened up on the engines after landing -- are those for the thrust reverser?

  • yes sir

  • I only travel with KLM, I love it, good service and flight attendants are very friendly and helpful. Prices are very good, as well.

  • looks scary! very bad weather for landing at that airport lol. i once landed there in a 747 n i was amazed at how close the plane was the sea when it landed on the runway, just a few meters lol.

  • i went on klm for the first time to go to hk a month ago, and the service was crap

  • Nice video and you have steady hands!

  • it looks cool wen the wing and engins swing like that!!

but scary if they rip or fall apart in mid air!!

  • You will not get these kind of view from the other side of the plane.

  • must be scary for people that arnt used to planes to see the wing and engines swinging around like that :P

  • And suddenly both engines fall off XD

  • Nice and soft landing... :)

  • Good Pilot.

  • It's a 747, what do you expect?

  • Great landing.

  • I heard Dutch pilots are alongside the world's best along with the British and German pilots.

  • @FredLarsson And the French, Spanish, Swiss, Russian, Belgian, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Canadian, Mexican..etc.,etc. : )

  • @FredLarsson

    Everything Duch is best !!!!!

  • @FredLarsson is it the nationality who makes you a good pilot? retard.

  • @gladanka not the nationality, but the way that teach you in a country is.
