Your view declares she was brutally raped then left half-dead for HIS Good Pleasure to glorify himself! Then when the 6 year old grows up Resenting God and HATING Him & all-things Christianity, YOU would telll her that she was Fashioned for the Lake of Fire "Before having done anything eiither good or bad" to make known the riches of His glory for vesses of Mercy, such as yourself!
Oh How BEAUTIFUL are the feet of those Calvinists who preach the good news!!!
Also read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 which gives better clarity to and can be cross referenced with Roman 10:6-8.The choice of life and death. Also read Jeremiah 18:1-17 which gives better clarity to and is also cross referenced with Romans 9:20-21.The Potter and the Clay.Since the Bible doesnot contradict itself these verses prove that Calvinism is a wrong interpretation and maligns Gods character.
Calvinist the Bible DOES NOT contradict itself.Scripture backs up scripture and calvinism is left wanting. For anyone who wants to study the verses that definitively support the Arminian just read all of Ezekiel 18 which talks about the justice of a righteous God and pay close attention to verse 28 which says,"They will live because they THOUHGT IT OVER and DECIDED to turn from their sins.God DID NOT do it for them.
@bluetew37 You said, "They will live because they THOUHGT IT OVER and DECIDED to turn from their sins.God DID NOT do it for them" Really, you can prove God was not the ultimate cause directing their thoughts? All you have proven is that they had thoughts and made a decision, not that God was not the ultimate cause of it all.
@1689Baptist you can't prove in that verse that God was the cause.Besides Calvinist say we can't choose God but by your own admission this verse proves they do make a decision and from the structure of the verse it is implied that they not God made the decision. No where in that chapter does it imply God being the cause of their decision but it does imply man's thought was the cause.God will allow obstacles to come into our life to guide us to Him but he NEVER forces a person against their will.
@Bloggrich55 "FAKE repentance calls?? Do you even KNOW what God's command to repent is?"
YES! God sends out a "General Calling of Repentance" to sinners to "repent" & be "reconciled" to God, though they were FASHIONED & PREDESTINED for WRATH "...BEFORE having done ANYTHING either good or bad..." while Jesus NEVER died for them to begin with!"
@Blogrich55 "WHAT or WHO made Abraham to believe? He was a fallen son of Adam and spiritually dead."
To be spiritually "dead" is to be "seperated" from God, not spiritually ANNIHILATED.
Isaiah 59:2.To show humility is to apply FAITH on God-- by HIS OWN GRACIOUS decree, He pardons them by CHOICE--
"To the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to THE ONE who does NOT work, but BELIEVES in Him who justifies the ungodly, HIS FAITH is CREDITED as righteousness"
@Blogrich55 FAITH is what justifies an individual, FAITH on the LORD Jesus Christ-- I know you're not a rocket scientist dude but:
1. Abraham BELIEVED God & it was CREDITED to him as "righteousness"
It doesn't say; "Abrahama RECEIVED Faith & it was credited to him as rightesouness."
Deut.30:11-29 refutes any idea, thought or doctrine which says "man CANNOT believe GOD unless GOD 1st MAKES them believe or FORCEFULLY/IRRESISTIBLY changes their "Will" to BELIEVE.
So WHAT or WHO made Abraham to believe? He was a fallen son of Adam and spiritually dead. The Psalm says the man is blessed who the LORD causes to draw near to Him. So was it Abraham's faith? He needed faith to be saved didn't he? Was it a gift of God which would make him saved by GRACE or was it Abraham's OWN faith which makes it saved by SOMETHING in Abraham himself; in other words WORKS.
God is the AUTHOR and the finisher of our faith. He starts it in us!
@Blogrich55 Yes the Lord draws all men to him but they MUST accept him. Christ said, "When I AM lifted up I will draw all men to me." Drawing and Accepting have two entirely different meanings. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
@Scottles293 "Abrahams Faith was a gift from God..." if it was an "irresistible" gift ,then 1689Baptist is wrong. God NEVER FORCED FAITH on Abram then credit it as Righteousness! The Canaanite women was REJECTED by Christ, but what does Jesus answer her, "Woman, great is YOUR faith, may it be done for you as you have desired!" Rom.4 annihilates any argument that applying YOUR FAITH on the Lord Jesus Christ as being Meritorious. Deut.30.11-20, partially quoted in Rom.10, REFUTES this idea also.
@Blogrich55 said," Faith is the gift of God and NOT of works lest any man should boast.". You just took that verse out of context either deliberately or out of ignorance. The subject of the verse is GRACE not faith. GRACE is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.(Eph.2:8) The only way Calvinism can be made to look legitimate is by TWISTING SCRIPTURE which is CLEARLY what you have done here. Stop distorting my Fathers Word.
@bluetew37 "The subject of the verse is GRACE not faith"
Not according to the best Greek scholars. Are YOU a Greek expert or just some Arminian who repeats nonsense he has heard like a polemic parrot. If you are NOT a Greek expert yourself, many of us are not, you do need to familiarize yourself with the works of theologians who are such as James White and the late Dr Gordon H Clark. Historically John Gill, Calvin, Warfield, Hodge, do your homework and quit spouting off nonsense.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You asked, "Oh really? Could you name some of these 'best Greek scholars' who happen to NOT be calvinist?" ROFL That is why the best Greek scholars ARE Calvinist. LOL
@1689Baptist It is also quite telling that before the rise of Calvinism, not one Greek scholar ever even came close to interpreting the New Testament in the manner supralapsarian calvinists do. In fact, if we read the Early Fathers, this whole notion of there being no free will, and God being the active creator of moral evil, is nowhere to be found.
@JackMWolfe Yes and I will remove this one Mat_18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
@1689Baptist You're afraid of the truth, have been refuted everytime you lift your filthy snout out of the muck, & actually imagine that removing my comments or changing what the bible ACTUALLY says can succeed. Mt18:6 applies to YOU & so does Rev21:8 "But as for the cowards...& as for the depraved & defiled with abominations & all liars - all of these shall have their part in the lake that blazes with fire & brimstone." Destruction is your only future because of your blasphemy of the Spirit.
@JackMWolfe "Destruction is your only future because of your blasphemy of the Spirit."
NO it is YOU who FOOLISHLY blaspheme God Almighty by saying He can obey the 5th commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother." Who are God's parents? Is Mary the Mother of God like the Catholic Church teaches?
You hate the God of the Bible. You resent His sovereignty. You call Him the devil and blaspheme His holy name! Repent or YOU will have your part in the lake of fire that burns forever and ever!
@apollos "Mt10:28 "but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul & body in hell" How is this correlated with Mt 25:46? "These will go away into ETERNAL PUNISHMENT, but the righteous into ETERNAL LIFE."
This conversation between TOMB & 1689 is like the blind trying to lead the dead. 1st, the wages of sin is DEATH - the punishment is DESTRUCTION & it will be eternal. 2nd, the state of the dead changed after the resurrection - the spirits of the righteous now go directly to heaven.
@RU4theTRUTH Actual understanding of the text... this coming from one who admits he does not understand Greek. How long are you going to go down this road instead of actually answering the questions, thereby actually giving proof for that 'truth' you so adamently proclaim? One verse.
@Tennessee You're wasting your time trying to talk about whether hell is eternal or not with these spiritual dwarfs - they don't even grasp the basics about salvation or the nature of God because of their Calvinism induced spiritual blindness. It's like talking to 1st graders who can't even add about calculus, or going to a morgue & talking to the cadavers about the dangers of smoking - it serves no purpose whatsoever.
@JackMWolfe Luk_16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Luk 16:24...for I am tormented in this flame. Now Josephus confirmed that the Jews believed this to be a literal place in his "Discourse on Hades to the Greeks". If Jesus knew this doctrine to be wrong then He should have corrected it, not tell a make-believe story confirming their false doctrine
@1689Baptist Again... You are using a parable, spoken by Jesus. Now... when does the Judgment occur? After the Second Coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead. When telling this parable, Jesus was very much alive, and not even crucified yet. Want to explain this?
@1689Baptist Irrelevant? The resurrection and judgment has taken place even before Jesus was crucified, stood up and returned? Seriously???? Pray tell: what exactly was the need for Jesus being crucified at all?
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones We go to our destinations as soon as we die the, judgement comes later. The judgement is not going to change ones destination anyway, it is not like God is going to find some new evidence and say, oops, I sent you to the wrong place, sorry you had to burn for a thousand yrs, my mistake.
Christ died for all his people past, present, and future, He death was just as much for Abraham in the past as it was for me in the future.
@1689Baptist Uhm... where exactly could I find scriptural evidence for this 'in-between-station'? You are saying that after we die, we are not actually dead at all, yet live on in hell or heaven. Death does not exist. We are continuously alive. This whereas God has proclaimed very clearly that the wage of sin is DEATH, not 'life' or 'conscious existence in another place'.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones 1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality,.... Angels are immortal, and so are the souls of men, and so will be the bodies of men after the resurrection; but then neither of these have immortality of themselves, they have it from God; who only has it, of himself, originally, essentially, and inderivatively.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Do you not understand the difference between derived and inherent? God's life is inherent He is mortal from everlasting to everlasting. That does not mean I am not immortal from the point of my birth, my life is derived from Him, I had a beginning He did not, and I can live as long as He gives me life.
@1689Baptist You are now adding things to Scripture that are simply not there. Provide me with one single verse that states that the soul of man is immortal. Just one.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Have you ever heard of Logic? A doctrine can be established without a verse specifically stating it. The word Trinity is not in the Bible, but the doctrine is taught. Oops, I forgot you don't hold to the trinity.
@1689Baptist Oh please.. I'm sure Roman Catholics say the same when upholding the doctrine of celibacy. It is pretty evident 'sola scriptura' is only 'sola' when it suits you.
@1689Baptist Also, that is not what Revelation states... When the Judgment comes, the souls of people do not leave hell and heaven to face judgment and be sent to hell or heaven. They come from the ground, the sea, from everywhere... where their bodies and souls had been DEAD and unconscious.
@1689Baptist Furthermore, calvinists better not use this parable anyway. For what does Abraham say to Dives, when Dives asks to have his brethren warned? Does Abraham say: your fate has been predestined from all eternity, there is nothing you could have done to escape this place... The same goes for your brothers. No. He does not. He says that the brothers should take heed to what the Law and Prophets say. Ergo: they must CHOOSE to either follow or ignore God.
@1689Baptist ... would that make Dives' fate any different? Remember, you're now Abraham, so you know who is elect and who is not. Surely you would know if his brothers were.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones How would Abraham know if the brothers still living are of the elect or not? How could he know that until they die and he sees what compartment they go to? You still have not dealt with Josephus confirming Jesus on Hades. Why would Jesus confirm what the Jews believed if it were not true?
@1689Baptist Because you, too, seem to read a KJV-translation of both Hades and Gehenna into 'hell' as spoken of in the New Testament. The Jews did indeed believe in such a place. Nevertheless, Jesus never refers to this place, 'Hades' or 'Sheol', when presumably speaking of hell. He speaks of GEHENNA.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You still have not dealt with Josephus confirming Jesus on Hades. Why would Jesus confirm what the Jews believed if it were not true?
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Oh, so the rich man was in the garbage dump? Where was Abraham? Now idiot, Jesus story of the Rich man in hell is remarkably like Josephus's Discourse on Hades to the Greek. Why is that? Why would Jesus tell a story even close to that is it were not true?
@1689Baptist Where did I say the rich man was in Gehenna? I specifically stated Jesus was speaking in parables here. As in: figurative speech. Quote me as saying the 'rich man' is in Gehenna.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones And I told you he wasn't! And BTW please explain to me what truth was Jesus teaching with this "figurative speech"? See parables were told to teach a spiritual truth, so what was the truth being taught here?
@1689Baptist You tell me it was not a parable? On what grounds? Because 'names were mentioned'? The spiritual truth of the parable of Dives and Lazarus is pretty clear: Dives represents the Pharisees who will not believe Christ is the Messiah. Now the rich man, the once chosen one, is passed by for the pitiful poor Lazarus, the Gentile. This notion is also found in the parable of the invitation to the feast of the lord.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Your interpretation is lame, and did not explain, Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
@1689Baptist ... because you refuse to read this text as a parable. If the rich man was immersed in flames, why would he call for a TIP OF HIS FINGER to COOL HIS TONGUE?
@1689Baptist ... and Jesus was known for agreeing with contemporary Jews all the way, wasn't he? And anyway, it is still vital to know where Lazarus and Abraham were situated in this story, if we are to decide whether to take these verses literal or figuratively. So, if you don't mind, could you say where they were?
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You said, "and Jesus was known for agreeing with contemporary Jews all the way, wasn't he?" So Jesus agreed with untruths? Are you calling Him a liar?
@1689Baptist No, I mean where in this parable in Luke are Lazarus and Abraham situated? It's pretty clear you believe the rich man is in hell. Now, where are Lazarus and Abraham?
@1689Baptist So, are you now calling Christ a liar? How could Abraham and Lazarus be in Paradise BEFORE Christ's crucifixion, resurrection, second coming, and judgment? John 3:13.
@1689Baptist No you didn't. Listen: is it sola scriptura or is it not?? Christ is clear: ONLY HE that has come down from heaven, has been lifted up to heaven... Him NOT being Lazarus, not Abraham, but CHRIST. So... either Christ is a liar, or we have to read the parable of Dives and Lazarus as just that: a parable.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Here is the explanation. We go to our destinations as soon as we die the, judgement comes later.
@1689Baptist I already refuted that comment. Is it SOLA SCRIPTURA or is it not? How could Lazarus and Abraham be in Heaven, whereas Christ specifically claims in John 3:13 that only HE has come from Heaven. Are you calling him a liar?
@1689Baptist Frankly I don't care. You use your own dogmas as they suit you. Sola scriptura is only sola scriptura when it can be used to hack away at doctrines you disagree with. As of yet you still have to give me ONE SINGLE VERSE in the bible that states that the soul of man is immortal. SOLA SCRIPTURA, right?
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Here is the video, Re: ProveYourFaith, John 3:13, Did Jesus descend from Heaven? Logically putting facts taught in Scripture to come up with a doctrine is SOLA SCRIPTURA
@1689Baptist You can't pass me off this easily. I have already refuted your 'sola scriptura' claim. And I have already demonstrated how lucid and elastic such 'putting facts taught in scripture to come up with doctrine' really is... Once again I ask you: show me one passage in the bible that states that the soul of man is immortal.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Once again, you have not demonstrated how bringing bits of truth together from all parts of the Bible into a logically complete, and coherent doctrine is denying SOLA SCRIPTURA. I will not let you dictate the terms of the argument.
@1689Baptist I already have. You say there is immortality of the soul, yet you cannot come up with a single verse to support this. Furthermore, you basically say Christ is a liar by claiming Abraham and Lazarus, in the parable of the rich man, are somehow in Heaven. Unproven? Try again.
@1689Baptist Hold on... as works are completely useless, and every man's fate has been predetermined before the beginning of it all.. what exactly would the SPIRITUAL TRUTH of this parable (Dives and Lazarus) be in YOUR EYES? I am very anxious to hear this 'un.
@RU4theTRUTH Yet another cop-out. Insinuating I am doing the bidding of satan does not impress me. I've heard that song before, from catholics and protestants alike. The fact remains: where does the New Testament speak of a SPIRITUAL DEATH that still is physical in effect? Quote one verse.
@RU4theTRUTH My position hasn't been refuted for the simple reason that you cannot answer any of my questions pertaining to what you yourself say believe and adamently declare to be the truth. Again.. there is an exposition going on, alright.
@RU4theTRUTH So you are now stating that the doctrines of the Egyptians, Greeks and Catholics are indeed suspect. Guess where this dogma of 'hell' comes from.
@RU4theTRUTH Actually, Stanford Rives has most aptly stated it. There is a hole in calvinist theology. A moral void that turns light into darkness, and darkness into light. A hole that makes vice a virtue, and sin a blessing. For: whatever evil is perpetrated, in the end, this evil can always be translated into 'good', by assigning your arbitrary god and his laissez faire treatment of the elect and reprobate to your cause. Once again, I refer to Calvin's treatment of Servetus.
@RU4theTRUTH Dissimulation? I ask you a very simple question. In order for you to actually uphold your doctrine of hell, the least you could do is try to defend it.
@RU4theTRUTH If you had no relish in it, you would be pleased to learn that the doctrine of hell as you have it is a bastardized mixture of Egyptian, Greek and Roman Catholic tradition. Instead, you cannot or will not give up this idea of hell, as it serves as a magnificent instrument to torture people - spiritually. And by the way: you don't relish death because you don't believe in death. According to you, we all live on somewhere, either in heaven or hell.
@RU4theTRUTH Expose? How exactly? I have asked you countless times what the Greek is for 'everlasting without end' is, so that we can adequately debate the topic of hell. So far, the only thing that has been exposed, is your dogged refusal to actually debate the issues. Instead, you resort to the tried-and-true method of the fire and brimstone preacher who actually has no idea what he is talking about.
@RU4 But there is a biblical cure for your dire spiritual condition - you promote a false gospel (Repent, for Christ MIGHT have died for you), you blaspheme God by accusing Him of issuing FAKE calls of repentance to helpless people, withholds the abiility to do so, then destroys them for not obeying, you change & twist God's word, falsely accuse/condemn others - plus the hypocrisy & arrogance. Christ's prescription is to take a long walk on a short pier with a millstone tied around your neck.
@RU4 You reek with deception & hypocrisy. 1st you apologized to TOMB for being harsh & claimed you repented, then immediately referred to him as being "unclean & an abomination" & condemned ME for maintaining any fellowship with him! Now you deny any wrong doing, accuse ME of "playing games" & advise me to repent - it's laughable projection of YOUR OWN faults on others! People naturally become like the God they worship - & your character is as two-faced as the counterfeit dirtbag you follow.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones... this is the problem with 1689Baptist and all other Calvinists-"evil" is not absolute but relative---when 6 year-old girls are kidnapped, & raped continuesly for months by pdeophiles while they scream & beg for their lives until they're dead, they say that God didn't twiddle his thumbs, or close his eyes, or shut his ears during this ordeal, but that this abomination was INEVITABLE & part of His SOVEREIGN WILL to begin with FOR "His Glory", for "His good pleasure"!
@apollos6640 Why do you keep talking to TennesseeOwnsMyBones instead of addressing me. You said, "l, but that this abomination was INEVITABLE & part of His SOVEREIGN WILL FOR "His Glory", for "His good pleasure"
Amen! At least we can rest in the fact that we endure these horrible hardships for a much higher and lofty reason. What reason can you give that is a worthy excuse for your god to twiddle his thumbs? I tell you God's glory is of infinite value and worth 10,000 eternities in hell.
@apollos6640 - So are you saying that God DOES "twiddle his thumbs, or close his eyes, or shut his ears ...while the 6 year-old girls are kidnapped, & raped continuesly for months by pdeophiles ... while they scream & beg for their lives until they're dead"?
If so, which view of God is evil?
The one that takes the Bible seriously, that God is sovereign over all things, even wicked acts, for His own glory?
OR the god who is powerless against and/or has no purpose at all in human suffering?
@stegokitty " Shawn hare" You are one sick dude.a heretic and, like a true calvinist you like spreading lies and other malicious things.
I will go and write something on my channel page explaining all the things that you have done. You are free to try to defend yourself,i have not blocked you....
@RU4 "I have no desire to get along with them... touch not the unclean thing... Now you go ahead and "get along with" that which God says is abominable. It says alot Jack"
LOL, what REALLY "says a lot" is that you just apologized to him a few pages ago for “treating him so harshly in conversation” & adding “I have brought this before the LORD & have repented” - but now you call him “unclean” & an “abomination”! You can't get out of the way of your own lies & hypocrisy - what a phony!
@JackMWolfe Oh I take everything RU4 says with a mine of salt. Someone who so relishes in the idea of an eternal place of physical torment - and that for creatures who have been specifically created to dwell in it - without having a proper understanding of the Greek translation of 'hell', isn't really worth to get worked up about. If anything, it amply illustrates the spiritual malnutrition that is calvinism.
@Tennessee These reprobates have demonstrated how Calvinism destroys the souls of its adherents by simply displaying their fruit - glaring ignorance, blaspheming God's character, lying, cowardice, changing/twisting God's word, bearing false witness, falsely accusing & condemning others, hypocrisy, arrogance, etc. Ultimately, Calvinism's demonic road leads to blasphemy of the Spirit which is why they have a bumper crop of such putrid fruit - they're walking corpses sealed for destruction.
@JackMWolfe Tell me why does your god twiddle his thumbs while the rapist rapes the poor helpless woman over and over again the then kills her? Does he close his eyes so he can't see the evil? Does he stop his ears so that he can't hear the her dying screams? You can twist this all you want but you will NEVER make your god good. The ONLY way for evil to exist with a good God is for God to be above the law and what He does is good b/c He does it.
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones When evil springs from the hearts of wicked men & God ALLOWS such evil to exists temporarily-- while He uses this man-made evil to maneuver the universe to accomplish HIS PURPOSE, calvinists declare they're BETTER than God. 1689Baptist writes "I am better then your god b/c I wouldn't let that kind of evil happen if I had the power to stop it. Your god is WICKED!"
Far from it! How MUCH MORE WICKED is a "god" who's the AUTHOR of such Moral Evil Decreeing it for his "Glory"?
@apollos6640 Tell me why does your god twiddle his thumbs while the rapist rapes the poor helpless woman over and over again the then kills her? Does he close his eyes so he can't see the evil? Does he stop his ears so that he can't hear the her dying screams? You can twist this all you want but you will NEVER make your god good. The ONLY way for evil to exist with a good God is for God to be above the law and what He does is good b/c He does it.
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
The ONLY reason 1689Baptist advocates God taking "Pleasure" in creating "Moral Evil" to "Glorify himself" is because Calvinisms definition of "SOVEREIGNTY" DEMANDS it, not because its "Sola Scriptura".
@apollos6640 You said, "Your eyes are too pure to approve evil" Then tell me why does your god twiddle his thumbs while the rapist rapes the poor helpless woman over and over again the then kills her? Does he close his eyes so he can't see the evil? Does he stop his ears so that he can't hear the her dying screams? I am better then your god b/c I wouldn't let that kind of evil happen if I had the power to stop it. Your god is WICKED!
@apollos6640 You can keep telling calvinists this over and over again... Somehow, through a magical and wholly illogical system of thought, they will still maintain that while their god is the creator of moral evil, he somehow is not responsible for it...
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones God is not responsible b/c NO ONE is able to hold Him responsible. Tell me if I am right and the God I proclaim is the the one true God are you going to hold Him accountable? Do you really think you are going to march into the Throne Room and tell God that it was not fair for Him to decree for you to sin then damn you for it?
@1689Baptist But your god is not the one true God. Your god isn't even a shadow of what the Christian God is about. It is more like a petty, tyrannical and indeed wholly injust demon that takes pleasure in the torment of his creatures. Tell me: what good God would even think to create human beings, with nerve endings and all, for the sole purpose of eventually having them pained forever. If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological.
@Tennessee "what good God would even think to create human beings, with nerve endings & all, for the sole purpose of eventually having them pained forever. If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological"
Indeed, & they promote him as a "loving God" - after all, he could have destroyed everyone but forced a few to be saved. It's a Charles Manson version of God, look at all the people Chuck DIDN'T torture & murder - a poster boy for Reformed love
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones "But your god is not the one true God." The Bible proves you wrong!
"If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological." You are imposing your ideas of what you declare to be good on God, and then you say if God does not measure up to this standard He is not good. You need to understand God is good no matter what he does with His creatures, NO standard CAN be held up to God.
@1689Baptist "You are imposing your ideas of what you declare to be good on God, & then you say if God does not measure up to this standard He is not good."
LOL, try this with your kids or with some in the neighborhood - give one of them a gift, nothing to the other & then tell them how loving you are because they're both worthless brats who deserve nothing. If they still don't understand Calvinism, take them for ice cream & throw one of them out of the car on the way - that'll clear it up!
@1689Baptist Until you adequately understand the basics of hermeneutics, and take the time to study the texts in their original language, I do not think you have that much of a right to tell anyone what the Bible states. And again you have exposed the inherent wickedness of the nature of your god: since he is above everything, he may do as he please. How exactly are you going to uphold any kind of morality that way? I once more refer to Calvin's treatment of Servetus..
@UpholdenbyMercy "Really, like Sola Scriptura so I guess that your accord with them and your disdain for God's word exempts you from, Proverbs 11:21?"
Your definition of "Sola Scriptura" is nothing more than Reformed Theology which I Reject-- much like Richard Dawkins definition of "Science" is nothing more than Evolution which I also reject--
Like the Roman Catholic Church, you Calvinist think you hold a MONOPOLY on TRUTH-- but you're wrong-- especially when it comes to Gods SOVEREIGNTY
The more you expose a Calvinists of his flaws the more they insult you, therefore revealing what's really DEEP WITHIN their hearts-- bitterness, hatred, arrogance, deception and so forth-- 1689Baptist is guilty of Double Talk, he said;
"God creates wickedness and has NO pleasure in the THING itself, but HAS pleasure in THAT wickedness is a means to glorify Himself..."
WRONG.
Psalm 5:4
For You are NOT a God who takes PLEASURE in wickedness; NO EVIL dwells with You.
Calvinists don't seek TRUTH, 1689 Baptist is already guilty of Double Talk.
Psalm 5:4
"For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil "ra" dwells with You." (No MORAL EVIL dwells w/ you), so Isaiah 45:6-7 CANNOT use the "Moral Evil" definition of "ra" otherwise you would have a CONTRADICTION.
@apollos6640 No I already answered this, so you have no leg to stand on. Ignoring what I say is not refuting it. Now if I am so wrong then go refute my new video instead of running your mouth and making yourself look more stupid.
I have my disagreement with YOU TennesseeOwnsMyBones, I have my disagreements wih YOU JackmWolfe-- but I COMPLETELY agree with the 2 of you that SATANS EVIL & Power is GLORIFIED, identified & portayed through the abominal teachings of "Reformed Theology"
@apollos6640 HEY, deal with my new video that refutes your RA never means moral sins. Or would you rather just run around saying "Calvinism is evil" "Calvinism is evil" and not actually prove anything. CHICKEN!
@RU4theTRUTH Jack doesn't need my approval. While we disagree on things, and probably a lot of them, we agree on the fact that calvinism is a disastrous theology.
@Tennessee "While we disagree on things, and probably a lot of them, we agree on the fact that calvinism is a disastrous theology."
Yes, if I recall correctly we once butted heads big time about Universalism, but compared to Calvinism it's a relatively harmless debate - at least U's don't turn God into a narcissistic megalomaniac who creates & then destroys helpless people in order to "glorify himself".
@RU4 Looking at JackMWolfe's recent comments to "TennesseeOwnsMyBones" it appears easy to see that Jack is seeking the approval of Tennessee."
LOL, sounds like jealousy. You wish YOU could get along with those you don't completely agree with - but that‘s not possible with Calvinism. Calvinists are like the family dog who's dug up some dead remains in the backyard & wonders why no one will let him back in the house - you can't dress up your detestable abominations enough to be admitted.
@RU4 And I refer you to mine. You might also review the exchange just before you ran off like a frightened squirrel to later return with a new name - & then apply the FIRST category of those that Rev21:8 condemns to YOURSELF ie, "But as for the COWARDS... these shall have their part in the lake that blazes with fire & brimstone" Calvinists are indeed among the most biblically illiterate & cowardly cultists on the planet & try to compensate thru hypocritiical projection - you're a poster boy.
@RU4 The last time you raised your filthy snout out of your Reformed swill to grunt some doctrinal abominations, it got slapped so hard you changed your name before returning. You can't hide who & what you are behind a name change, & projecting your own sins on others won't help you escape the destruction that's coming upon all apostates. You promote a false gospel, cause division, change God's word, bear false witness/ falsely accuse, & blaspheme the REAL God - all are DEATH PENALTY offenses.
God loves you. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins, was buried and rose again so that all who believe on Him will not perish, but have everlasting life in Heaven.
John 3:15. That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
@1689Baptist What DOES it mean to believe? (can u please let us know what this verse is saying). i've been struggling to understand what it truly means to "trust in Jesus" for salvation and truly doubt my own faith. i know the Bible says anyone who is born of God believes that Jesus is the Christ, but many people who are professing Christians will be turned away by Jesus on the last day, so there must be more to it. Im a fairly knew Christian and would very much appreciate your thoughts.
@Scottles293 Belief or faith is an intellectual activity, we believe in our minds that the propositions set forth in the Bible about the Person of Christ is true, That He came and was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, was crucified, bore the sins of His people on the Cross, was raised from the dead, ascended back to heaven. And even more personally you must believe that He died for your personal sins. Believing is trusting what Jesus says in Word is true.
@Scottles293 The point is when we believe something is effects how we act, if I believe that my sins crucified Christ then I desire to stop doing the things that crucified Him. This is called the Sanctification process where God is conforming us to the image of His dear Son.
Those that are turned away are those with a superficial belief which really is not belief at all, they really do not believe their sins are that bad, they only want Christ for what He can give them,
@1689Baptist I understand that we believe what God has revealed concerning His Son, but for someone who believes in Limited Atonement it seems presumptuous to believe that Jesus died for my personal sin in order to be saved, when the Bible says that he saves all those that the Father gives to Him. do you kind of understand what i mean?
@Scottles293 I think you are missing this one crucial point. Yes He saves all the Father gives to Him, but also Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. You came to Him, coming and believing are synonymous. Why did you come to Him? B/c you are one given to Him by the Father. Why is it others do not come. Joh.10:26 But ye believe not, BECAUSE ye are not of my sheep.
@Scottles293 You could not have come to Him unless God gave you the ability. Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
Why did you have the ability to come to Jesus? Joh 6:44,47, 10:27 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him...My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me...(and) believeth on Me hath everlasting life... and I will raise him up at the last day.
@1689Baptist thanks these vereses are very encouraging. i just struggle with doubt heaps because i dont think that i've "trusted in Jesus" enough, i always am looking at the level of my faith (because Abraham believed God andit was credited to him as righteousness - this to me makes faith to be a meritorious work that we must do in order to be saved, and i always think that come short of the faith that justifies. thanks heaps for answering my questons btw
@Scottles293 I removed jacks comment to you, he is only here to cause confusion by misrepresenting what Calvinist teach. It is nothing but an attack of the devil, so I will tell you what Jesus told Peter, Luk 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Luk 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not...
Remember Abraham's Faith was a gift from God just like yours or mine, therefore it could not be meritorious
@Scottles This reprobate apostate is misleading you - he removed my comments about Sanctification because they'd guide you into the truth - the parables of the Talents, the 5 Bridesmaids who didn't make it into the Kingdom, & the man who came to the wedding without the right garments, are all failures of the Sanctification process. There's no such thing as "automatic salvation" - it absolutely requires man's cooperation with the Holy Spirit which Calvinism denies. Beware & be forewarned.
@JackMWolfe "he removed my comments about Sanctification because they'd guide you into the truth"
You wouldn't know the truth if it was tattooed on you in living color. You are a stranger to sound theology and completely lacking in hermeneutical and exegetical skills.
You claimed that God never commands us to do anything He wouldn't do. You were asked HOW God can honor His mother and father for God has NO parents. Your answer:
Jesus honored the Father. So is Mary the Mother of God? ROFLOL
@Blogrich You completely misquoted my answer to one of your heretical assertions on another video. Just as you twist what even God Himself has spoken, you also bear false witness & misrepresent others in order to promote your blasphemous agenda. It's YOU that's demonstrated you couldn't exegete your way out of wet parchment, & you routinely practice deception & false accusations to hide your pathetic ignorance. Calvinists are among the most biblically illiterate cultists on the planet.
NO ONE knows who God's elect are or who are reprobate. Such a pity people like you utterly FAIL to read Deuteronomy 29:29 where it tells us the secret things belong to God NOT us. We have the things God has revealed to us. They are for us and our children so we may "do all the words of His law."
We will NEVER be sanctified perfectly in this life. Sinlessness comes with glorification. Our goal is to "glorify God and enjoy Him forever" by our obedience.
@Blogrich LOL Deut29:29 says NOTHING about God having a "secret will" to send out FAKE repentance calls to helpless people who He's actually chosen for destruction, withholding their ability to respond to His command, & then destroying them for refusing! That's a blasphemous interpretation that you FORCED into the verse, as you do with ALL the distorted prooftexts you use to misrepresent & blaspheme God's character. It can't even be called eisegesis much less exegesis - just ignorant GARBAGE.
FAKE repentance calls?? Do you even KNOW what God's command to repent is? It is NOT merely an offer to be reconciled through the blood of Jesus Christ; it is a DEMAND for us to QUIT our sinful rebellion against a Holy God and OBEY Him!
What would be the alternative? Do you REALLY think God can give man permission to sin freely?
According to YOU God can obey the 5th's "honor thy father and thy MOTHER". So do you believe Mary is the mother of God? LOL
@Blogrich 1st, you're even ignorant of Calvinism's version of God's call to repentance yet blindly cited Deut29:29 to support it. They claim God has a "general" & an "effective" call to repentance - the general call is to all men but He only gives the ability to obey it to those He has chosen for salvation - that call is "effective" & irresistible. 2nd your stupid detour into the 10 commandments trying to support your claim that God hates sinners while commanding us to love them was refuted.

Oh How BEAUTIFUL are the feet of those Calvinists who preach the good news!!!
apollos6640 6 months ago
Also read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 which gives better clarity to and can be cross referenced with Roman 10:6-8.The choice of life and death. Also read Jeremiah 18:1-17 which gives better clarity to and is also cross referenced with Romans 9:20-21.The Potter and the Clay.Since the Bible doesnot contradict itself these verses prove that Calvinism is a wrong interpretation and maligns Gods character.
bluetew37 7 months ago
Calvinist the Bible DOES NOT contradict itself.Scripture backs up scripture and calvinism is left wanting. For anyone who wants to study the verses that definitively support the Arminian just read all of Ezekiel 18 which talks about the justice of a righteous God and pay close attention to verse 28 which says,"They will live because they THOUHGT IT OVER and DECIDED to turn from their sins.God DID NOT do it for them.
bluetew37 7 months ago
@bluetew37 You said, "They will live because they THOUHGT IT OVER and DECIDED to turn from their sins.God DID NOT do it for them" Really, you can prove God was not the ultimate cause directing their thoughts? All you have proven is that they had thoughts and made a decision, not that God was not the ultimate cause of it all.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist you can't prove in that verse that God was the cause.Besides Calvinist say we can't choose God but by your own admission this verse proves they do make a decision and from the structure of the verse it is implied that they not God made the decision. No where in that chapter does it imply God being the cause of their decision but it does imply man's thought was the cause.God will allow obstacles to come into our life to guide us to Him but he NEVER forces a person against their will.
bluetew37 6 months ago
@Bloggrich55 "FAKE repentance calls?? Do you even KNOW what God's command to repent is?"
YES! God sends out a "General Calling of Repentance" to sinners to "repent" & be "reconciled" to God, though they were FASHIONED & PREDESTINED for WRATH "...BEFORE having done ANYTHING either good or bad..." while Jesus NEVER died for them to begin with!"
apollos6640 7 months ago
@Blogrich55 "WHAT or WHO made Abraham to believe? He was a fallen son of Adam and spiritually dead."
To be spiritually "dead" is to be "seperated" from God, not spiritually ANNIHILATED.
Isaiah 59:2.To show humility is to apply FAITH on God-- by HIS OWN GRACIOUS decree, He pardons them by CHOICE--
"To the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to THE ONE who does NOT work, but BELIEVES in Him who justifies the ungodly, HIS FAITH is CREDITED as righteousness"
apollos6640 7 months ago
"Great is YOUR faith..."
apollos6640 7 months ago
@apollos6640 "Abraham BELIEVED"
Blogrich55 7 months ago
@Blogrich55 Yes the Lord draws all men to him but they MUST accept him. Christ said, "When I AM lifted up I will draw all men to me." Drawing and Accepting have two entirely different meanings. BIG DIFFERENCE!!!
bluetew37 6 months ago
@Scottles293 "Abrahams Faith was a gift from God..." if it was an "irresistible" gift ,then 1689Baptist is wrong. God NEVER FORCED FAITH on Abram then credit it as Righteousness! The Canaanite women was REJECTED by Christ, but what does Jesus answer her, "Woman, great is YOUR faith, may it be done for you as you have desired!" Rom.4 annihilates any argument that applying YOUR FAITH on the Lord Jesus Christ as being Meritorious. Deut.30.11-20, partially quoted in Rom.10, REFUTES this idea also.
apollos6640 7 months ago
@apollos6640 "Rom.4 annihilates any argument that applying YOUR FAITH on the Lord Jesus Christ as being Meritorious"
I know you are NOT a rocket scientist dude BUT:
1. If we are saved by FAITH ALONE and
2. That faith is OURS then
3. We are saved by OUR FAITH or what is called evangelical obedience.
THAT amounts to being saved by SOMETHING we contribute. Faith is the gift of God and NOT of works lest any man should boast.
Blogrich55 7 months ago
@Blogrich55 said," Faith is the gift of God and NOT of works lest any man should boast.". You just took that verse out of context either deliberately or out of ignorance. The subject of the verse is GRACE not faith. GRACE is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.(Eph.2:8) The only way Calvinism can be made to look legitimate is by TWISTING SCRIPTURE which is CLEARLY what you have done here. Stop distorting my Fathers Word.
bluetew37 6 months ago
@bluetew37 "The subject of the verse is GRACE not faith"
Not according to the best Greek scholars. Are YOU a Greek expert or just some Arminian who repeats nonsense he has heard like a polemic parrot. If you are NOT a Greek expert yourself, many of us are not, you do need to familiarize yourself with the works of theologians who are such as James White and the late Dr Gordon H Clark. Historically John Gill, Calvin, Warfield, Hodge, do your homework and quit spouting off nonsense.

Abusive ad hominem. We DON'T have to listen to THEM because they are Calvinists and obviously biased, ehhh?
Greek grammar will be the same for anyone who knows his stuff. Can you name a Unitarian who was NOT a heretic? Oh, THAT was a rhetorical question :D
Blogrich55 6 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You asked, "Oh really? Could you name some of these 'best Greek scholars' who happen to NOT be calvinist?" ROFL That is why the best Greek scholars ARE Calvinist. LOL
1689Baptist 6 months ago
@1689Baptist To calvinists, I'm sure they are.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 6 months ago

JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@JackMWolfe "Destruction is your only future because of your blasphemy of the Spirit."
NO it is YOU who FOOLISHLY blaspheme God Almighty by saying He can obey the 5th commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother." Who are God's parents? Is Mary the Mother of God like the Catholic Church teaches?
You hate the God of the Bible. You resent His sovereignty. You call Him the devil and blaspheme His holy name! Repent or YOU will have your part in the lake of fire that burns forever and ever!

@TennesseeOwnsMyBones... are you saying the Soul is annihilated in Gehenna?
Matt. 10:28b "...but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Geenna). "
How is this correlated with Matt. 25:46?
"These will go away into ETERNAL PUNISHMENT, but the righteous into ETERNAL LIFE."

JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Actual understanding of the text... this coming from one who admits he does not understand Greek. How long are you going to go down this road instead of actually answering the questions, thereby actually giving proof for that 'truth' you so adamently proclaim? One verse.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@Tennessee You're wasting your time trying to talk about whether hell is eternal or not with these spiritual dwarfs - they don't even grasp the basics about salvation or the nature of God because of their Calvinism induced spiritual blindness. It's like talking to 1st graders who can't even add about calculus, or going to a morgue & talking to the cadavers about the dangers of smoking - it serves no purpose whatsoever.

@JackMWolfe YOU are in agreement with @Tennessee that there is no eternal hell? And you call US "spiritual dwarfs"? Oh, that's rich, ROFL

1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Again... You are using a parable, spoken by Jesus. Now... when does the Judgment occur? After the Second Coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead. When telling this parable, Jesus was very much alive, and not even crucified yet. Want to explain this?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones All that is irrelevant, also it is not a parable, Jesus uses the names of real people which is not done in parables.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Irrelevant? The resurrection and judgment has taken place even before Jesus was crucified, stood up and returned? Seriously???? Pray tell: what exactly was the need for Jesus being crucified at all?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones We go to our destinations as soon as we die the, judgement comes later. The judgement is not going to change ones destination anyway, it is not like God is going to find some new evidence and say, oops, I sent you to the wrong place, sorry you had to burn for a thousand yrs, my mistake.
Christ died for all his people past, present, and future, He death was just as much for Abraham in the past as it was for me in the future.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Uhm... where exactly could I find scriptural evidence for this 'in-between-station'? You are saying that after we die, we are not actually dead at all, yet live on in hell or heaven. Death does not exist. We are continuously alive. This whereas God has proclaimed very clearly that the wage of sin is DEATH, not 'life' or 'conscious existence in another place'.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones The body dies, the body is what needs resurrecting. What are you a JW now? You are one confused nut!
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Really? The soul is immortal? Please correspond this with 1 Timothy 6:16.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones 1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality,.... Angels are immortal, and so are the souls of men, and so will be the bodies of men after the resurrection; but then neither of these have immortality of themselves, they have it from God; who only has it, of himself, originally, essentially, and inderivatively.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist That's not what it says in 1 Timothy 6:16...
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Do you not understand the difference between derived and inherent? God's life is inherent He is mortal from everlasting to everlasting. That does not mean I am not immortal from the point of my birth, my life is derived from Him, I had a beginning He did not, and I can live as long as He gives me life.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist You are now adding things to Scripture that are simply not there. Provide me with one single verse that states that the soul of man is immortal. Just one.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Have you ever heard of Logic? A doctrine can be established without a verse specifically stating it. The word Trinity is not in the Bible, but the doctrine is taught. Oops, I forgot you don't hold to the trinity.

@1689Baptist Hey now... SOLA SCRIPTURA, no?

TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones I said LOGICALLY!
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Yeah, so? When Paul says it is BEST to remain single and unmarried, that would make a logical case for celibacy.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones NO
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist That'll probably not do for the pope..
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Also, that is not what Revelation states... When the Judgment comes, the souls of people do not leave hell and heaven to face judgment and be sent to hell or heaven. They come from the ground, the sea, from everywhere... where their bodies and souls had been DEAD and unconscious.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Furthermore, calvinists better not use this parable anyway. For what does Abraham say to Dives, when Dives asks to have his brethren warned? Does Abraham say: your fate has been predestined from all eternity, there is nothing you could have done to escape this place... The same goes for your brothers. No. He does not. He says that the brothers should take heed to what the Law and Prophets say. Ergo: they must CHOOSE to either follow or ignore God.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones What Abraham said has no bearing on Calvinism, I am a Calvinist and would have said the same thing.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Then you'd be sugar coating your own truth. But that would make sense, as bare calvinism is hideous in and of itself.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Why, they are commanded to obey the law and the prophets, how is it wrong to tell them to do so?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist ... would that make Dives' fate any different? Remember, you're now Abraham, so you know who is elect and who is not. Surely you would know if his brothers were.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones How would Abraham know if the brothers still living are of the elect or not? How could he know that until they die and he sees what compartment they go to? You still have not dealt with Josephus confirming Jesus on Hades. Why would Jesus confirm what the Jews believed if it were not true?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Because you, too, seem to read a KJV-translation of both Hades and Gehenna into 'hell' as spoken of in the New Testament. The Jews did indeed believe in such a place. Nevertheless, Jesus never refers to this place, 'Hades' or 'Sheol', when presumably speaking of hell. He speaks of GEHENNA.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You still have not dealt with Josephus confirming Jesus on Hades. Why would Jesus confirm what the Jews believed if it were not true?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Because Jesus did not speak of HADES. Jesus spoke of GEHENNA.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Oh, so the rich man was in the garbage dump? Where was Abraham? Now idiot, Jesus story of the Rich man in hell is remarkably like Josephus's Discourse on Hades to the Greek. Why is that? Why would Jesus tell a story even close to that is it were not true?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Where did I say the rich man was in Gehenna? I specifically stated Jesus was speaking in parables here. As in: figurative speech. Quote me as saying the 'rich man' is in Gehenna.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones And I told you he wasn't! And BTW please explain to me what truth was Jesus teaching with this "figurative speech"? See parables were told to teach a spiritual truth, so what was the truth being taught here?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist You tell me it was not a parable? On what grounds? Because 'names were mentioned'? The spiritual truth of the parable of Dives and Lazarus is pretty clear: Dives represents the Pharisees who will not believe Christ is the Messiah. Now the rich man, the once chosen one, is passed by for the pitiful poor Lazarus, the Gentile. This notion is also found in the parable of the invitation to the feast of the lord.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Your interpretation is lame, and did not explain, Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist ... because you refuse to read this text as a parable. If the rich man was immersed in flames, why would he call for a TIP OF HIS FINGER to COOL HIS TONGUE?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Um b/c he was in so much torment that even the slightest relief would have felt wonderful
1689Baptist 7 months ago

TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Where is you interpretation?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist It being a parable, I take it to symbolize regret at having spoken untruths. For, what comes OUT of the mouth is what makes men evil.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones I still say it is lame, when Jesus agrees with Josephus who explained the belief of the Jews in Jesus day.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist ... and Jesus was known for agreeing with contemporary Jews all the way, wasn't he? And anyway, it is still vital to know where Lazarus and Abraham were situated in this story, if we are to decide whether to take these verses literal or figuratively. So, if you don't mind, could you say where they were?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones You said, "and Jesus was known for agreeing with contemporary Jews all the way, wasn't he?" So Jesus agreed with untruths? Are you calling Him a liar?

1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist No you didn't. Listen: is it sola scriptura or is it not?? Christ is clear: ONLY HE that has come down from heaven, has been lifted up to heaven... Him NOT being Lazarus, not Abraham, but CHRIST. So... either Christ is a liar, or we have to read the parable of Dives and Lazarus as just that: a parable.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Here is the explanation. We go to our destinations as soon as we die the, judgement comes later.
@1689Baptist I already refuted that comment. Is it SOLA SCRIPTURA or is it not? How could Lazarus and Abraham be in Heaven, whereas Christ specifically claims in John 3:13 that only HE has come from Heaven. Are you calling him a liar?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones "Christ is clear: ONLY HE that has come down from heaven, has been lifted up to heaven" Oh, yes I have a video on that.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Frankly I don't care. You use your own dogmas as they suit you. Sola scriptura is only sola scriptura when it can be used to hack away at doctrines you disagree with. As of yet you still have to give me ONE SINGLE VERSE in the bible that states that the soul of man is immortal. SOLA SCRIPTURA, right?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Here is the video, Re: ProveYourFaith, John 3:13, Did Jesus descend from Heaven? Logically putting facts taught in Scripture to come up with a doctrine is SOLA SCRIPTURA
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist You can't pass me off this easily. I have already refuted your 'sola scriptura' claim. And I have already demonstrated how lucid and elastic such 'putting facts taught in scripture to come up with doctrine' really is... Once again I ask you: show me one passage in the bible that states that the soul of man is immortal.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Once again, you have not demonstrated how bringing bits of truth together from all parts of the Bible into a logically complete, and coherent doctrine is denying SOLA SCRIPTURA. I will not let you dictate the terms of the argument.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Oh you will not? But you will spew forth your own unbiblical doctrines and garnish them with 'sola scriptura' for good effect?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones Says you, unproven of course.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist I already have. You say there is immortality of the soul, yet you cannot come up with a single verse to support this. Furthermore, you basically say Christ is a liar by claiming Abraham and Lazarus, in the parable of the rich man, are somehow in Heaven. Unproven? Try again.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Hold on... as works are completely useless, and every man's fate has been predetermined before the beginning of it all.. what exactly would the SPIRITUAL TRUTH of this parable (Dives and Lazarus) be in YOUR EYES? I am very anxious to hear this 'un.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Yet another cop-out. Insinuating I am doing the bidding of satan does not impress me. I've heard that song before, from catholics and protestants alike. The fact remains: where does the New Testament speak of a SPIRITUAL DEATH that still is physical in effect? Quote one verse.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Please tell me where in the Greek text Jesus (or anyone else) speaks of a spiritual death that is still physical?
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH How do you know I am counterfeiting the original Greek as you yourself do not know the language? There is no counterfeiting 'Gehenna'.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH My position hasn't been refuted for the simple reason that you cannot answer any of my questions pertaining to what you yourself say believe and adamently declare to be the truth. Again.. there is an exposition going on, alright.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
The Bible: The wage of sin is DEATH.
Orthodox Christianity: The wage of sin is eternal life, either in hell or heaven.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH So you are now stating that the doctrines of the Egyptians, Greeks and Catholics are indeed suspect. Guess where this dogma of 'hell' comes from.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Actually, Stanford Rives has most aptly stated it. There is a hole in calvinist theology. A moral void that turns light into darkness, and darkness into light. A hole that makes vice a virtue, and sin a blessing. For: whatever evil is perpetrated, in the end, this evil can always be translated into 'good', by assigning your arbitrary god and his laissez faire treatment of the elect and reprobate to your cause. Once again, I refer to Calvin's treatment of Servetus.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Dissimulation? I ask you a very simple question. In order for you to actually uphold your doctrine of hell, the least you could do is try to defend it.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH If you had no relish in it, you would be pleased to learn that the doctrine of hell as you have it is a bastardized mixture of Egyptian, Greek and Roman Catholic tradition. Instead, you cannot or will not give up this idea of hell, as it serves as a magnificent instrument to torture people - spiritually. And by the way: you don't relish death because you don't believe in death. According to you, we all live on somewhere, either in heaven or hell.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4theTRUTH Expose? How exactly? I have asked you countless times what the Greek is for 'everlasting without end' is, so that we can adequately debate the topic of hell. So far, the only thing that has been exposed, is your dogged refusal to actually debate the issues. Instead, you resort to the tried-and-true method of the fire and brimstone preacher who actually has no idea what he is talking about.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@RU4 But there is a biblical cure for your dire spiritual condition - you promote a false gospel (Repent, for Christ MIGHT have died for you), you blaspheme God by accusing Him of issuing FAKE calls of repentance to helpless people, withholds the abiility to do so, then destroys them for not obeying, you change & twist God's word, falsely accuse/condemn others - plus the hypocrisy & arrogance. Christ's prescription is to take a long walk on a short pier with a millstone tied around your neck.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@RU4 You reek with deception & hypocrisy. 1st you apologized to TOMB for being harsh & claimed you repented, then immediately referred to him as being "unclean & an abomination" & condemned ME for maintaining any fellowship with him! Now you deny any wrong doing, accuse ME of "playing games" & advise me to repent - it's laughable projection of YOUR OWN faults on others! People naturally become like the God they worship - & your character is as two-faced as the counterfeit dirtbag you follow.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones... this is the problem with 1689Baptist and all other Calvinists-"evil" is not absolute but relative---when 6 year-old girls are kidnapped, & raped continuesly for months by pdeophiles while they scream & beg for their lives until they're dead, they say that God didn't twiddle his thumbs, or close his eyes, or shut his ears during this ordeal, but that this abomination was INEVITABLE & part of His SOVEREIGN WILL to begin with FOR "His Glory", for "His good pleasure"!
apollos6640 7 months ago
@apollos6640 Why do you keep talking to TennesseeOwnsMyBones instead of addressing me. You said, "l, but that this abomination was INEVITABLE & part of His SOVEREIGN WILL FOR "His Glory", for "His good pleasure"
Amen! At least we can rest in the fact that we endure these horrible hardships for a much higher and lofty reason. What reason can you give that is a worthy excuse for your god to twiddle his thumbs? I tell you God's glory is of infinite value and worth 10,000 eternities in hell.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@apollos6640 - So are you saying that God DOES "twiddle his thumbs, or close his eyes, or shut his ears ...while the 6 year-old girls are kidnapped, & raped continuesly for months by pdeophiles ... while they scream & beg for their lives until they're dead"?
If so, which view of God is evil?
The one that takes the Bible seriously, that God is sovereign over all things, even wicked acts, for His own glory?
OR the god who is powerless against and/or has no purpose at all in human suffering?

LOL, what REALLY "says a lot" is that you just apologized to him a few pages ago for “treating him so harshly in conversation” & adding “I have brought this before the LORD & have repented” - but now you call him “unclean” & an “abomination”! You can't get out of the way of your own lies & hypocrisy - what a phony!
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@JackMWolfe Oh I take everything RU4 says with a mine of salt. Someone who so relishes in the idea of an eternal place of physical torment - and that for creatures who have been specifically created to dwell in it - without having a proper understanding of the Greek translation of 'hell', isn't really worth to get worked up about. If anything, it amply illustrates the spiritual malnutrition that is calvinism.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago

1689Baptist 7 months ago

Habakkuk 1:13
Your eyes are too pure to approve evil,
And You can not look on wickedness with favor.
Psalm 5:4
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness;
The ONLY reason 1689Baptist advocates God taking "Pleasure" in creating "Moral Evil" to "Glorify himself" is because Calvinisms definition of "SOVEREIGNTY" DEMANDS it, not because its "Sola Scriptura".

Creating MORAL EVIL & MORAL EVIL dwelling with HIM are NOT 2 different things.
apollos6640 7 months ago
@apollos6640 You can keep telling calvinists this over and over again... Somehow, through a magical and wholly illogical system of thought, they will still maintain that while their god is the creator of moral evil, he somehow is not responsible for it...
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones God is not responsible b/c NO ONE is able to hold Him responsible. Tell me if I am right and the God I proclaim is the the one true God are you going to hold Him accountable? Do you really think you are going to march into the Throne Room and tell God that it was not fair for Him to decree for you to sin then damn you for it?
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist But your god is not the one true God. Your god isn't even a shadow of what the Christian God is about. It is more like a petty, tyrannical and indeed wholly injust demon that takes pleasure in the torment of his creatures. Tell me: what good God would even think to create human beings, with nerve endings and all, for the sole purpose of eventually having them pained forever. If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological.
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@Tennessee "what good God would even think to create human beings, with nerve endings & all, for the sole purpose of eventually having them pained forever. If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological"
Indeed, & they promote him as a "loving God" - after all, he could have destroyed everyone but forced a few to be saved. It's a Charles Manson version of God, look at all the people Chuck DIDN'T torture & murder - a poster boy for Reformed love
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@TennesseeOwnsMyBones "But your god is not the one true God." The Bible proves you wrong!
"If you believe this constitutes a good God, you are truly verging on the psychopathological." You are imposing your ideas of what you declare to be good on God, and then you say if God does not measure up to this standard He is not good. You need to understand God is good no matter what he does with His creatures, NO standard CAN be held up to God.
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist "You are imposing your ideas of what you declare to be good on God, & then you say if God does not measure up to this standard He is not good."
LOL, try this with your kids or with some in the neighborhood - give one of them a gift, nothing to the other & then tell them how loving you are because they're both worthless brats who deserve nothing. If they still don't understand Calvinism, take them for ice cream & throw one of them out of the car on the way - that'll clear it up!
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@1689Baptist Until you adequately understand the basics of hermeneutics, and take the time to study the texts in their original language, I do not think you have that much of a right to tell anyone what the Bible states. And again you have exposed the inherent wickedness of the nature of your god: since he is above everything, he may do as he please. How exactly are you going to uphold any kind of morality that way? I once more refer to Calvin's treatment of Servetus..
TennesseeOwnsMyBones 7 months ago
@UpholdenbyMercy "Really, like Sola Scriptura so I guess that your accord with them and your disdain for God's word exempts you from, Proverbs 11:21?"
Your definition of "Sola Scriptura" is nothing more than Reformed Theology which I Reject-- much like Richard Dawkins definition of "Science" is nothing more than Evolution which I also reject--
Like the Roman Catholic Church, you Calvinist think you hold a MONOPOLY on TRUTH-- but you're wrong-- especially when it comes to Gods SOVEREIGNTY

Yes, if I recall correctly we once butted heads big time about Universalism, but compared to Calvinism it's a relatively harmless debate - at least U's don't turn God into a narcissistic megalomaniac who creates & then destroys helpless people in order to "glorify himself".
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@RU4 Looking at JackMWolfe's recent comments to "TennesseeOwnsMyBones" it appears easy to see that Jack is seeking the approval of Tennessee."
LOL, sounds like jealousy. You wish YOU could get along with those you don't completely agree with - but that‘s not possible with Calvinism. Calvinists are like the family dog who's dug up some dead remains in the backyard & wonders why no one will let him back in the house - you can't dress up your detestable abominations enough to be admitted.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@RU4 And I refer you to mine. You might also review the exchange just before you ran off like a frightened squirrel to later return with a new name - & then apply the FIRST category of those that Rev21:8 condemns to YOURSELF ie, "But as for the COWARDS... these shall have their part in the lake that blazes with fire & brimstone" Calvinists are indeed among the most biblically illiterate & cowardly cultists on the planet & try to compensate thru hypocritiical projection - you're a poster boy.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@RU4 The last time you raised your filthy snout out of your Reformed swill to grunt some doctrinal abominations, it got slapped so hard you changed your name before returning. You can't hide who & what you are behind a name change, & projecting your own sins on others won't help you escape the destruction that's coming upon all apostates. You promote a false gospel, cause division, change God's word, bear false witness/ falsely accuse, & blaspheme the REAL God - all are DEATH PENALTY offenses.

1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist What DOES it mean to believe? (can u please let us know what this verse is saying). i've been struggling to understand what it truly means to "trust in Jesus" for salvation and truly doubt my own faith. i know the Bible says anyone who is born of God believes that Jesus is the Christ, but many people who are professing Christians will be turned away by Jesus on the last day, so there must be more to it. Im a fairly knew Christian and would very much appreciate your thoughts.
Scottles293 7 months ago
@Scottles293 Belief or faith is an intellectual activity, we believe in our minds that the propositions set forth in the Bible about the Person of Christ is true, That He came and was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, was crucified, bore the sins of His people on the Cross, was raised from the dead, ascended back to heaven. And even more personally you must believe that He died for your personal sins. Believing is trusting what Jesus says in Word is true.
cont...
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@Scottles293 The point is when we believe something is effects how we act, if I believe that my sins crucified Christ then I desire to stop doing the things that crucified Him. This is called the Sanctification process where God is conforming us to the image of His dear Son.
Those that are turned away are those with a superficial belief which really is not belief at all, they really do not believe their sins are that bad, they only want Christ for what He can give them,
1689Baptist 7 months ago
@1689Baptist I understand that we believe what God has revealed concerning His Son, but for someone who believes in Limited Atonement it seems presumptuous to believe that Jesus died for my personal sin in order to be saved, when the Bible says that he saves all those that the Father gives to Him. do you kind of understand what i mean?
Scottles293 7 months ago
@Scottles293 I think you are missing this one crucial point. Yes He saves all the Father gives to Him, but also Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. You came to Him, coming and believing are synonymous. Why did you come to Him? B/c you are one given to Him by the Father. Why is it others do not come. Joh.10:26 But ye believe not, BECAUSE ye are not of my sheep.
So why is you came to Christ?
Cont...
1689Baptist 7 months ago

1689Baptist 7 months ago
@Scottles This reprobate apostate is misleading you - he removed my comments about Sanctification because they'd guide you into the truth - the parables of the Talents, the 5 Bridesmaids who didn't make it into the Kingdom, & the man who came to the wedding without the right garments, are all failures of the Sanctification process. There's no such thing as "automatic salvation" - it absolutely requires man's cooperation with the Holy Spirit which Calvinism denies. Beware & be forewarned.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago

Calvinists are among the most biblically illiterate cultists on the planet.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@JackMWolfe "This reprobate apostate..."
Blogrich55 7 months ago
@Blogrich LOL Deut29:29 says NOTHING about God having a "secret will" to send out FAKE repentance calls to helpless people who He's actually chosen for destruction, withholding their ability to respond to His command, & then destroying them for refusing! That's a blasphemous interpretation that you FORCED into the verse, as you do with ALL the distorted prooftexts you use to misrepresent & blaspheme God's character. It can't even be called eisegesis much less exegesis - just ignorant GARBAGE.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@JackMWolfe "FAKE repentance calls..."
LOL
Blogrich55 7 months ago
@Blogrich 1st, you're even ignorant of Calvinism's version of God's call to repentance yet blindly cited Deut29:29 to support it. They claim God has a "general" & an "effective" call to repentance - the general call is to all men but He only gives the ability to obey it to those He has chosen for salvation - that call is "effective" & irresistible. 2nd your stupid detour into the 10 commandments trying to support your claim that God hates sinners while commanding us to love them was refuted.
JackMWolfe 7 months ago
@JackMWolfe "1st, you're even ignorant ..."
1. Oh REALLY? Do you think I do NOT know what Calvin teaches on the matter? ALL Calvinists teach that the call goes out to all who hear
