you really cant beat the bel radar detectors. i love em. im selling one of these babies if anyone wants to buy it. its the 965. its the same detection range and functionality, except it doesnt have ku band, which is only used in europe and NOT in the US. so why pay for something you dont need? these go for well over 200 but ill take 160. go to ebay and search vector 965 and its yours! thanks!

I have a Bel v995. I have had it for only like three days. Past couple days I have taken the highway and I have seen multiple cops on the highway sitting in the median, and I have not gotten one warning yet. All I get are false alarm warnings. All bands are on. Something I'm not doing right?

@CaptainJackRyan They might not have their radar or laser on or they just didn't point their laser at you. I passed by a half dozen cop cars without it going off.

Also does this not detect red light cameras and speed traps? I've passed by a whole bunch of them and got nothing.

@CaptainJackRyan Just because you see cops on the side of the road doesn't mean they are running radar. Its not a cop detector its a radar detector.

It's not picking up radar, It's a laser speed safety sign, That's why he's getting it from so far away, Line of sight all along the beam, Good contact though.

Mount it higher and hardwire it.

It sits in the middle of my windshield now, and I actually built my own hardwire cord a few days ago, I just havent had the time to wire it yet though.

The higher you mount a detector, the more difficult it will be to detect laser.

High is good if you want to detect radar. Low is best for laser.

im getting the 940 in the vector series, had a pos cobra xrs, and wouldnt pic up jack, hopefully these are as good as everyone says they are.

i hear the k40 is making a comeback....lmao actually i have a friend with a k40 if you can still find them anywhere other than their website they are a decent radar dect.

my 995 is awesome it works just as well as the 9500i and the V1 which even though the v1 is a good detector...its ugly as hell..and its like having a microwave stuck to your windshield

I had a friend who recommended that i get the V995 so i did and boy its the best purchase i've ever made for my car. I picked up a police's radar gun 1 mile out (i did the math for it as well, i was doing 45-50 and i started the video 1 second before the first warning came in, the vid lasted 1:23 seconds) and the wrote was a straight road with lots of hills that you can't see under and the V995 busted through them all.....very very good unit if you don't want to break the bank then this is the 1

I totally agree. I was going to buy the V1 this summer(and I do still plan on it)but this detector for the price definitely holds it own.

Best $295 ever spent. Plus I love how loud it is, easy to hear over my music and/or passengers.

I know when I went to go buy this, I was looking on youtube for some videos and most of them are from the UK.

Hopefully I will get some new ones up in a few days.
