My dad was one of the people that escaped by boat...he said that one of his friends` mom died while on board the ship. They didn`t have any other food, so some people ate the mother...when the son was asleep...

I was one of them. Thanks for preserving our history. Probably this episode in Viet history will be lost forever without people like you. The Vietnamese government does not mention boat people in history text books; therefore, the next vietnamese generations probably will not be aware what had happened in the twenty years or so after April 1975, when their people had to flee the country away from Communist yoke.
