  • Sure join a UU church they're free from irrational hatreds! PSYCHOLOGISTS are often UU's! They believe in "oppositional defiance disorder." Right, that means in 1854 slaves who rebelled were "mentally ill," see shitty psychiatrist Samuel Cartwright on "drapetomania!" If UU were serious about being on "free & responsible search for truth & meaning" (they are sure NOT) they'd eject everyone who calls themselves "mental health professionals" (modern term for INQUISITORS and WITCH FINDERS!!)

  • I blocked Bad Dave there's no use in more debate. Can't anyone see that sex typing of clothes, unless based only on anatomy--is wrong? Women cast off that concept as it would restrict their choices, we still want to impose it on men to stop them from having choices "crossdressing" & that's what's wrong with psychology crowd---false terminology. Greece, Fiji, Scotland have soldiers in skirts, this isn't "transgenderism," British Beefeaters wear fancy shoes & neck ruffs. Be fair about clothes!

  • i love the line about Joyce Meyers.

  • such insight and belly laughs

  • What do you mean, "not responsible"? You mean something unpleasant will happen? Are you afraid of something? No wonder Unitarianism is so vapid and small; you're about as "diverse" as cream cheese and without a fresh slew of converts, you'd by where the Shakers are now. Ridiculous organization. Vapid, simpering, prim and pseudo-progressive.

  • I love Betty! I feel this character is more fleshed out than Shirley Q. It's like all the women I used to work with at the library here in N.C. "What do you people believe in!?" I love the way everything that happens to her no matter how trivial; causes her to have a breakdown! Classic!

  • "they did the mingling of the waters. ....what??"

  • this is my favorite betty video!

  • lol me and my gf love betty so much. we laugh for hours watching these vids. thanks for postin

  • Betty is my hero!!!!

  • "Half of 'em is witches, half of 'em is atheists, and the other half don't believe nothin'."

    Hahahaha! =P

  • These things are so funny that all I need to make me laugh is bring up Betty. She's does more good than any antidepressant ever could.

  • At UU church in Arlington TX a man said I was "cross dressing" because I wore a skirt. At that I tried to get him to read a NY Times article from way back showing society's dismal treatment of women in pants. He REFUSED to look at it!! See, the mental "health" CULT is overly represented at UU churches. It's like a Black coming & they say he can come, BUT WE KNOW HE'S A "NIGGER." All psych labeling is defamatory! By the way, men wore skirts AS MEN for 1,000's of years!! STUPID UU people!!!

  • @skirts365 I had never really thought about the possiblity of wearing a skirt to church. That takes balls!

  • @baddave62 Usually a UU will argue against my points (can't be done) or just go silent. None of the area UU churches will answer me. I'm correct. BUT if my points are allowed to be aired, they risk losing income because mental health cultists could pull out and go elsewhere, anywhere they won't be criticized Income is what matters most to any UU church---not "free and responsible search for truth and meaning." Not when it reveals mental health cultists as quacks, frauds and power seekers..

  • @skirts365 Maybe they just wanted a free and responsible search up your skirt.

  • @baddave62 You know what you just belched out is blarney blather. Additionally, a man's right to personal privacy rests on identical legal grounds prohibiting such offenses as aiming a camera up a woman's skirt. It would be constructive if you'd recognize the issues I raised rather than being uselessly flippant. The UU are moral failures. I wish they'd offended the Sultan of Brunei, who'd launch a $2 billion advertising campaign to embarrass them. They end up as bad as fundamentalists.

  • @skirts365 If you ever get a large inheritance or win the lottery, you should consider buying a sense of humor.

  • @baddave62 Arguments are not won by evading issues. Nor are they won by shallow use of hackneyed cliches. Those evidently are your only armamentarium, and shows your senseless bravado a failure.

  • @skirts365 Please list for me my hackneyed cliches.

  • @baddave62 No need to--you did it yourself in previous post. Are you ready to confront issues, or do you intend to continue this fruitless jousting with the impotent evasions you cannot capitalize on?

  • @skirts365 As I suspected--you couldn't find any. As far as confronting issues--you're the one who has issues with wearing girlie clothes, it's really not an issue for me. Perhaps you need to clarify "fruitless jousting with the impotent evasions you cannot capitalize on"--it reads like a visual word salad. Have you stopped taking your schizophrenia meds?

  • @baddave62 You sure as hell used a hackneyed cliche. Girlie clothes? There are none past those dictated by anatomy, your criteria is mere stereotype & entirely superficial, finally you fall back on psychiatry in attempt to win argument you already lost. Psychiatry is a thoroughly discredited enterprise and recognized as only a tool to suppress nonconformity. It's in bed with Big Pharma--TV is saturated with commercials on lawsuits against them. "Visual word salad," another hackneyed cliche.

  • @skirts365 Perhaps you don't know the definition of "hackneyed cliche." If you can't afford a dictionary, they can be found online or in your public library. I will agree with you, however, that in your case psychiatry was most defininely insufficient.

  • @baddave62 You aren't stupid, you're stubborn. You used such cliches twice and opt to deny rather than concede. Psychiatry is always adequate to muddy the waters. I corresponded with a UU from Georgia, an attorney, who "had psychologicals thrown out of court." At least he's honest in admitting the psych cult has no place in courtrooms. The more you try to use appeals to psychiatry to win arguments, the more you show your argument has no merit "have you stopped your schizophrenia meds" ASS!!

  • @skirts365 My bad, of course you haven't stopped the meds, evidently you never took them in the first place. What exactly is my argument that has not merit? I eagerly await your next word salad.

  • @baddave62 Big Pharma makes toxins not medications. You are so full of shit to assert that someone you're in conflict with has head problems! You mentioned "girlie clothes," asshole--review National Geographic for last 80 years. Men globally wearing all types skirts. You stupid CRETIN all you do is reason by association. You field of view is limited to the narrow social context you are immersed in. You can't understand anyone who reasons past mass hypnosis "skirts are girlie clothes"---

  • @skirts365 You should get some nice lace panties to go with your skirts and then powder your nose. And hopefully the powder will have psychoactive properties and help you calm down and giggle more.

  • @baddave62 Anyone reading this debate can see your argumentation is mere invective and appeal to using psychiatry as character assassination. 400 years ago the accusations were "heretic" you would have caused some deaths, just because you don't like what someone is wearing. Folks, this jerk went from "I had never really thought about the possiblity of wearing a skirt to church. That takes balls!" to the degenerated mud slinging and exaggeration of my views that he's retreated to.

  • @skirts365 Speaking of balls, do ever like to wear a skirt with no underpants and then sit on a dude's lap at church? I think that would be really fun during a rousing gospel number. My suggestion would be Looking for a City,

  • They don't believe nothing....too damn funny!

  • Funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

  • okay the quaker church part was the shit. i loved this.

  • Bring your gardening gloves. Well give thanks to the earth. LOL

  • You gotta give Betty credit, at least she does her research!

  • What was she saying?

I'm a UU and we belive in free religion, and are quite peaceful.

  • unitarians don't believe in anything specific. so they don't believe in anything

  • Chris, Plenty of Unitarians believe in very specific things. Just because there are no specific beliefs that are common to ALL Unitarians (and I would even challenge that) doesn't mean that individual Unitarians don't believe anything.

All that aside, the video was pretty funny.

  • I am busting out laughing on the floor, and my dachshund now knows that I have lost my mind! I went to a UU church one fine Sunday morning, and they watched a movie about Rosa Parks! She was a great chick and all, but really! And they lit a chalice and read some somethin that didn't make no damn sense. And they opened up the "service" by singing a song called "Enter, Rejoice and Come In." Well, what is there to rejoice about if they don't know what the hell they believe?

  • Your hilarious c.

  • This is the funniest of all her vids almost as funny as the Testimony!

  • Well W1ndreader needless to say I agree 100% with you. In fact it is U*Us like Rev. Ray Drennan who have inspired me to come up with the bon mot that some of the U*Us I know are very free with the truth but far from responsible with it. Unfortunately that saying applies to a fair number of U*U clergy and even top level UUA officials. I am now in the very small minority of U*Us who are "excommunicated" U*Us. . . ;-)

  • You must except that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and that he rose from the dead in order to be saved. If you are really saved you will yield to Jesus Christ's teachings.

  • Except?! That's the funniest typo I've seen in awhile, rws2006.

  • haha! you believe that bullshit!?

  • you must learn to spell accept right...

  • I guess I'm a fighter not a quitter. . . In any case I didn't quit. I was permanently expelled by the congregation during a Stalinistic "show trial", aka kangaroo court, disguised as a "special congregational meeting" on November 22nd, 1999. Apparently they were upset about the fact that I had the temerity to publicly protest against the anti-religious intolerance and bigotry of their fundamentalist atheist "Humanist" minister and other U*U injustices, abuses and hypocrisy.

  • well, Robin, I am a UU which is why I posted this. true UU philosophy is that we all have the right to a free and responsible search for our own truth. declaring from the pulpit that 'God does not exist and belief in God is silly' may be free, but it is not responsible. and in the interest of full disclosure I am int the 'half of them which is witches'.

  • Hey RobinEdgar, how come it took you six years to figure out that UU church wasn't for you?

  • I was a member of the Unitarian Church of Montreal from 1993 to 1999. Rev. Ray Drennan, a fundamentalist atheist "Humanist" U*U, preached sermons that declared God to be a non-existent being and asserted that belief in God seems primitive. Besides doing that he labeled my personal monotheistic religious beliefs as "silliness and fantasy" and in an editorial that slammed the Roman Catholic state funeral of Pierre Trudeau he very publicly declared that most religious rituals are "meaningless".

  • Awesome! Too funny! Too true. . . BTW It should noted that attending a Unitarian "Church" can be hazardous to your spiritual health. As Betty Butterfield noted a lot of U*Us are atheists. Some are anti-religious fundamentalist atheist bigots who go out of their way to make life miserable for God believing people. Do you know any other "church" where a minister can preach that God does not exist and belief in Gof seems primitive? I can't. . .

  • Wait a minute - I have never heard a UU minister preach that god does not exist - HAVE YOU EVER HEARD a UU sermon? They are all about CHOICE - a UU minister never preaches about what each one of us should believe. AND, UUs do believe in SOMETHING - just because it may not be what you agree with doesn't mean it's wrong. Get a grip.

  • I have heard many U*U "sermons". That's how I heard Rev. Ray Drennan preach that God is a "non-existent being" and that belief in God "seems primitive". . . U*U ministers regularly preach sermons about what we should believe. The "fundie" atheist U*Us firmly believe that God is NOTHING. I agree with most U*U principles and ideals. What most certainly IS wrong is that a whole lot of U*Us flagrantly disregard and outright violate their claimed principles and ideals.

  • I went to a Unitarian Church for awhile and I had the same thought: "What do they believe in?"

  • Hey! Don't be bad mouthin' Joyce! She helped me through some long scary nights before I was properly medicated. You sure know your churches. Amen (meaning I'm in agreement). So far... I'm looking forward to finding out which church you choose.
