Can someone please tell me where the Incarna Preview videos are? I watched one with actual footage of what they have planned.. The guy was walking around in a club playing games on tables and everything.. Few things went wrong and it was really funny, i think it was at fanfest but i cant find it.. What I don't understand about this game is why doesn't CCP put heavier focus on building hype? Things such as fitting vehicles and vehicles costing killpoints are unique to the genre. If they could come up with some resistance-like weapons and work with PS first-party dev's on the cell broadband processor architecture to achieve R3, KZ3, UC3-graphics, hype would hit the roof with help of an over-budgeted trailer.
P.S. This game lacks good SpecFX, sound and particles, i.e. graphics in general.

Funny how DUST 514 is being played with a 360 controller (look at the dev on the left at 1:24:53) when the game isn't even coming to the 360 anymore, it's a PS3 exclusive as announced at E3 2011.

Stop comparing Eve to WoW, there is no comparison, WoW holds your hand from day 1, its simply too easy and made for gamers who want things simple.
Eve on the other hand, kicks you in the face when you're down, it takes years to completely master and once you think you have discovered it all, it hits you in the face with a new update which will take another year to get around. Its a never ending journey and thats what makes it the greatest MMO of all time.
I've been playing eve for over a year. I'm a real fan of the game, but I still don't understand why Dust is on console ;_; COMMON CCP, the world needs more decent pc FPS! And it would have made more sense to include the pc market. After all WE ARE eve.

When I see the grand ideas for Planetary Interaction and what we actually ended up with. I wonder when CCP finally decided that it no longer gives a fuck. PI sounds brilliant here, but in reality PI has NONE of the stuff they mention here, it's fucking rubbish.
Kinda feel bad for the CEO, he's come up with an astronomically beautiful and large MMO game that hundreds of thousands of people play everyday - but he doesnt have the best crowd skills. Granted, i would be nervous to if i had to stand in front of that many people speaking for that long, but given the circumstances i think he could have had more confidence. KEEP IT UP CCP!

They better not dumb down EVE. If they want to make it more viable for less patient individuals, they should just expand the PvE realm of the game. A variety of missions, a lot more epic arcs, ect. Dust 514 is already giving me involuntary erections. I think I may fully disappear from society when it comes out.
7 Years of EVE and the future is looking bright. I personaly have been playing for 2 years and dont see me stopping anytime soon. I hope it works out well for them.

@MrB1oshock CCP wont release it if its not as perfect as possible. They worked with a fashion designer and architects to make everything look as it belongs. Patience is a virtue, it will be worth it to wait and it is ever closer with tyrannis setting the planets up for dust 514.

@markash1971 You get a ship and you dont exactly have full control (you dont use a joystick) and there are no cheats (been playing for about a month now) at least none i have seen.
DUST 514 gameplay seems to have elements of Battlefield 2142 and Halo - not that that's a bad thing at all. What's original is the persistent aspect and the integration with EVE.

I have been playing this game off and on since 2004, i say off and on because i was in the military and getting deployed all the time, and now that i am a civilian, i get deployed still. but still, i play this game any chance i can get and enjoy every minute of it. cant wait to go to fanfest 2010

If you were a pirate youd realise that was i was saying is true. Kids are often the cause of ransoming and then podding, whether youv payed them or not.... introduce FPS to eve and the kids will come running.

In EVE you hire ppl from DUST to take over other ppl's colonise but I dont thing there is much more interaction between the 2 well probably some bombing from orbit :P
Id never EVER wanna see a FPS system within EVE... Only interaction between them. While its planned for possible interaction to be for colony takeovers, theres also talk of possible PVE quests that EVE players can set DUST players on... Such as securing abandoned mines or plantations ect ect.

@mk2389 the network they talk about is that of CONCORD. Being a Capsuleer means having your every move, ever module activation, every single ISK, tracked by their systems. Incarna will provide spaces where you can escape this panopticon, and thus open up for kinds of gameplay that wouldn't work under the watchful gaze of the Law.

I agree. I understand the desire to branch out to the console FPS market, but consoles have a shelf life. There is not only a strong FPS PC community, but the platform has so much more to offer IMO. A PC FPS incarnation of 514 makes sense.
Well the thing is, is that not everyone can afford a decent PC which what u need. I've never played a FPS with one and it does make a difference. There is also a strong FPS community on consoles i mean CoD is on the console so is BFBC2 and MAG. Plus i would love to be able to have my BS in space on my PC while also beening able to help on the planet on my console.
Can't afford a PC? What do you think a 360/PS3+games+controllers+online account costs? Anybody who says they can't afford a PC while owning the current gen consoles are either ignorant or lying. You could easily play EVE on a midrange system and you can get that for under $700.
Second, I didn't say consoles don't have a FPS presence. I said the platform is bad for the long term, persistent universe EVE is all about. They are almost a decade in and want to keep going. Consoles = shelf life.
But I would even be bold enough to say that you can get a system that runs eve without problem for under $400, depending a lil on where you live though.

Versions of direct x and gfx card updates are only the same as the progression in graphics/physics in console gaming.
The reason why most machines are upgraded so much is because the PC isnt just for games, therefore they got majorly clogged.
If you were to simply play games on a PC (nothing else at all) youd only need to upgrade every 2-3 years to play the newest software. Thats about the average lifespan of a xbox/ps3 anyway... assumming your not one of the lucky ones.
@Xsylm that would be cool, but there is already EVE for the pc. I would like to see it on the PC as well. My graphics cards and quad core processor haven't had a challenge in a while

DUST 514 gameplay seems to have elements of Battlefield 2142 and Halo - not that that's a bad thing at all. What's original is the persistent aspect and the integration with EVE.
Question: will we be able to attack war barges in space?

I have been playing this game off and on since 2004, i say off and on because i was in the military and getting deployed all the time, and now that i am a civilian, i get deployed still. but still, i play this game any chance i can get and enjoy every minute of it. cant wait to go to fanfest 2010

Actually i think eves fan base wouldve gone crazy if they introduced FPS to the core game.
1 - It would create MASS lag
2 - It would distract from the main goals of eve
3 - It would bring unwated players into the mature mix there is now... l33t NeWbIe PwN3rs... or what is commonly known as wow players/
DUST should definately be a stand alone game. Yes, its a shame its console exclusive... but it should definately not be a expansion.

If you were a pirate youd realise that was i was saying is true. Kids are often the cause of ransoming and then podding, whether youv payed them or not.... introduce FPS to eve and the kids will come running.

Id never EVER wanna see a FPS system within EVE... Only interaction between them. While its planned for possible interaction to be for colony takeovers, theres also talk of possible PVE quests that EVE players can set DUST players on... Such as securing abandoned mines or plantations ect ect.

EVE Online is a Space based MMORPG made by CCP which went available to the public in 2003.
DUST 514 is a console FPS yet-to-be-released by the same CCP.
The only similarity is they both exist in the same persistent universe, New Eden.

@mk2389 the network they talk about is that of CONCORD. Being a Capsuleer means having your every move, ever module activation, every single ISK, tracked by their systems. Incarna will provide spaces where you can escape this panopticon, and thus open up for kinds of gameplay that wouldn't work under the watchful gaze of the Law.

I agree. I understand the desire to branch out to the console FPS market, but consoles have a shelf life. There is not only a strong FPS PC community, but the platform has so much more to offer IMO. A PC FPS incarnation of 514 makes sense.

Well the thing is, is that not everyone can afford a decent PC which what u need. I've never played a FPS with one and it does make a difference. There is also a strong FPS community on consoles i mean CoD is on the console so is BFBC2 and MAG. Plus i would love to be able to have my BS in space on my PC while also beening able to help on the planet on my console.

Can't afford a PC? What do you think a 360/PS3+games+controllers+online account costs? Anybody who says they can't afford a PC while owning the current gen consoles are either ignorant or lying. You could easily play EVE on a midrange system and you can get that for under $700.
Second, I didn't say consoles don't have a FPS presence. I said the platform is bad for the long term, persistent universe EVE is all about. They are almost a decade in and want to keep going. Consoles = shelf life.

Versions of direct x and gfx card updates are only the same as the progression in graphics/physics in console gaming.
The reason why most machines are upgraded so much is because the PC isnt just for games, therefore they got majorly clogged.
If you were to simply play games on a PC (nothing else at all) youd only need to upgrade every 2-3 years to play the newest software. Thats about the average lifespan of a xbox/ps3 anyway... assumming your not one of the lucky ones.
