Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and Roy Huskey Jr. too. And Vassar Clements! And Mark O'Conner!. It's amazing to think of how popular folk music was, and John Denver especially. Why is Usher popular?
@yamamotomegane From an interview with Oprah Winfrey, on why he was wearing contact lenses: "I tried to wear contact lenses when i was just going to college and just could not stick those things in my eye. And I tried again a couple times subsequent to that over the years and still couldn't do it. About two years ago, with all the different things that were going on in my life, changes taking place, I didn't feel like that guy behind those glasses anymore."
When i was a kid I used to listen to this for hours on end and I never thought I'd see this on youtube. For years I searched for it. I have the Will The Circle Be Unbroken Volume 2 CD though.
@jimmyibbotsonmusic Is this clip from 1989 or 1990 or what year? Is that Jeff Hanna at 0:00-0:08? Do you like Jimmy Ibbotson and is he very good on mandolin? Those must be Wrangler jeans he is wearing and do you think Jimmy Ibbotson has probably been on a horse before?
Is there a CD available on Austin City Limits and a DVD of this one available? Is "Take Me Home, Country Roads" on the Austin City Limits and DVD, as I hope that there is a CD from this performance on Austin City Limits as I would love to have a DVD especially with John Denver as if it'll hopefully be available.
@COWBOYMACLEOD never been on cd or dvd. my dad had recorded it live on pbs years ago and played it over and over.which is the exact video i uploaded. only after he passed and i got older did i learn to appreciate this entire recording. i wish as much as you did we could get the master recording on dvd.
john being backed up by all those wonderful and talented people. Doesn't get much better than that! Loved this show on Austin City Limits. Still pull it out and watch it from time to time.

cowboymacleod: Yes, this show was aired in 1989 but I don't think Austin City Limits ever released it on tape or on a CD.
Wish the Dirt Band would put it out there for their fans if they somehow could. It was one of their best shows in my opinion.
