  • There were 9 million $10 bills created in 1864. I would not say that this bill is common, considering probably a few thousand remain today. However, that bill you have in your hand was the most printed of the war.

  • far more than a few thousand remain. It's still possible to buy the Richmond 1864 $10 in original packs of 100 notes.

  • where would you buy a 100 pack?

  • i did a quick google search and couldn't find any, although I've seen two packs from different major paper money dealers at ANA shows.

  • NIce $10 bill dude. But Actually that is NOT Jefferson Davis on the obverse of the bill. It is Confederate Secretary of State R.M.T. Hunter.
