i do not judge a disabilty people like what u made a comment i am disabled too i can do a lot better on lathe i am deaf and i was a machinist for tool and die now i would like to work on with smaller lathe for hobby on pens and other things so if u gonna judge a disbilty then when a judgement day of the lord is coming u will be also judged so be careful what u saying for .. thanks and help disblity too
I think some people are being very cruel with their comments here, it is quite obvious that the gentleman in the video has some kind of learning difficulty. He deserves our respect for trying.
@Sorvisormi If you see him use the tool, he holds it horizontal for some reason. He should lower his hand and let it cut the wood instead of scraping it.
That would be the Harbor Frieght (Central Machinery) 8x12 wood lathe. As far as smaller bench top lathes go its a really good starter lathe. Cant really do anything big. But for the price its a good wood tool for the weekend woodworker. Good buy in my opinion. (I own one) and i still have the option of upgrading to larger bed lathe in the future when my skills increase.

You look like you're torturing that wood with a screw driver.

ya i have that same lathe its varible speed and i really like it
golfer1555 2 years ago
you're holding the chisel at the wrong angle that could be why its not cutting well when using a gouge it should be pointed up into the wood

haha your right man!!

you rough the wood with a roughing gouge, not a spindle gouge. keep up the good though.
