Why does everyone care so much about the voices in Earthworm Jim HD? To me, voices are unimportant. What IS important is the gameplay; which seems just like the original.

@ScottyXCross "What IS important is the gameplay; which seems just like the original" exactly - this is esentially the same game I played over 10 years ago except a revamp on the graphics and sounds so that is what is coming under review. Noone is saying the voice is a game breaker, but what extra are they offering> Its for the die hard fans and newbies and the voice for me is a fly in the soup - a delicious soup that I already experienced to the full that now has a an annoying voice.

I personally preferred earthworm Jims' original voice which was NOT Dan Castellaneta. I think it was either the producer Dave Perry or the creator Doug Tennapel.

@Nitrous0x I had a feeling it was. Doug came up with the character art and designs so it was more his baby, and dave was more of a producer - loved his other work also...so original.

This new guy sounds sorta ok, but to me, Dan Castellaneta IS Earthworm Jim... and Homer...

@jekblom123 You must be thinking of the animated show, because the voices in EWJ were done by Shiny's Doug Tennapel according to the game's credits. I loved the original EWJ games and think the team who made the HD version had made an above average conversion. The low quality audio samples from the original just wouldn't have sounded too great in the new version. I actually like the voice in the new one too. Especially the yells. They did a great job. Now bring on EWJ2 HD!! :)
