You all thought that was a big wedgie you should see Steliana Nistor 2007 Milan Grand Prix BB That one the leotard looked like a thong at the end.. Why couldn't they get her a better fitting leotard? Or do you get more points for having the wedgie?? I see figure skaters even wind up with wedgies..

That used to be true of figure skaters. But in recent years the figure skating association has tightened up their rules. Women must now wear full skirts on their outfits instead of just tutus. And men are no longer allowed to wear those "unitards" or bodysuits like Freddie Mercury used to wear.

I should clarify. My earlier comments were in response to pinecone 14. Stephanie (the girl I mentioned earlier) had the option of wearing the same t-shirt and shorts uniform that was offered to ALL the girls in the class, but yet she STILL chose to wear her leotards. She indeed wore that t-shirt and shorts combo, but only once. The next day, she wore the t-shirt again, but had (literally!) dropped the shorts, and was wearing ONLY that t-shirt over her leo. That was a REALLY sexy look for her.

the dreaded wedgie! it happends to all of us! least it didn't go like a major thong like mine once did, i had no choice but to pull it out while i was waiting to tumble. the shame!

@LittleMissComet could have just left it, as you say it happens to all. It's just something that happens in gymnastics, no big deal, so best to just leave it rather than start picking and potentially feel ashamed at everyone seeing you pick it

She is a really great Gymnast. I hope to see more of her in the future. And somehow I really do not think her leotard and Dariya's leotard riding up was intentional on their part unlike the girl in your gym class. It must be embarassing for them though.

she retired after the olympics cuz of her bak whch has been a problem to her since she startd gymnastics and she always said she will retire...but thank God she didn't until after the olympics...and she has a prob. with her arm...so she had no choice

@MidniteMike1 I don't see why it would be embarassing, it's just an accepted thing in gymnastics, it wasn't a wedgie in the street or at some non-gymnastics event. No big deal

I knew a girl back in high school who CHOSE to wear leotards when we did gymnastics in gym class. She could have worn the shorts like all the other girls did, but she wore leos, and always wore her leotards in a wedgie, with her butt showing. She could have picked her wedgies anytime she wanted to, because we were not on TV or anything, but she almost never did. She had leos in almost every color imaginable, but she always wore them with her butt exposed. She always showed her butt in her leos.

@firepoint525 Maybe she was preparing for competition - after all, if you're not used to wearing a leotard, or you are used to wearing one but are used to picking wedgies, what's going to happen when you compete? Picking, and points deductions. Besides, what's the point of picking it anyway?

At the end, when Forminte was hugging her and consoling her she said in the cutest voice: "But I was ashamed..." Amazing thing the leo incident didn't affect her performance tho! Great athlete.

poor thing. that's why the girls should be allowed to wear shorts (not like the guy shorts, but like those little workout shorts)

@pinecone14 why poor thing? They need the leotards to show their contours off, and high cut leotards show lines better. It's also traditional now for women and girls to wear leotards in gymnastics, and wedgies are just accepted as a normal part of it, so it's no big deal. It's not like she had a wedgie out in the street - it was during a gymnastics routine
