  • are the cinema displays wall mounted? if so, how?

  • Hi,

Do you have a tutorial or can reference me on one where it actually shows how to set up a 20" cinema display (late 2005 model) to a power mac? I am not good at setting up a computer, let alone all these plugs. I bought the cinema display and power mac on ebay and did not come with any manual booklets. I've tried searching on the Apple website support help, not too much info, not relating on how to setup.

    Thanks

  • Harpertown 2008 8-core 2.8ghz vs Nehalem 2009 4-core 2.66, which do you think has the upperhand? I'm in tight situation here..

  • What. The fuck. Give me some of that money.

  • I recently upgraded mine to 24 gigs as well.

  • @MacUserLogic

Thanks man! been looking for monitor speakers, always sa this one but never knew which brand it was..

  • Nice one bro! Btw at 5:30 What kind/brand speaker or those?

  • @Dataline The big ones are the KRK V8's and the little computer speakers are the logitech Z5300's

  • nice ill be getting a mac pro 8 core to in 2 months iv hade a macbook pro 15.4 doulcore 2.53 ghz but it rilly sucks and soooo slow the internet wi fi has alot of problems

  • How rough are you with your new 12 core

  • can i be your friend?

  • What did you edit this video on iMovie?

  • Will he/you buy Mac Pro 12 cores now?? yours are OUTdated already!

  • @candyee88 4 extra cores doesn't do it for me.... i'll probably upgrade when its 16 cores (32virtual cores) and then look to OWC to supply the ram and aim for 64gigs of ram. lol

  • @MacUserLogic but yours are outdated is the truth

  • @MacUserLogic did anyone mentioned you are sick? :P lol no just kidding man you got an insane setup there everyone who is watching this must be jealous

  • @candyee88 /f/uck off outdated doesnt say it aint good, he is still using a outdated 30 inch(twice) which introduced in 2003, well its still bigger then the 24'' led apple. 7 years old monitors why dont u say thats outdated. man ur a noo/b

  • @hippievogelei I want him to keep buying more, u know? I want to challenge his pocket!!!

  • All that editing software and equiptment and we still have to watch you screw around.

  • @gjflix Goes to show you its not the hardware but the operator that makes big hollywood movies. Besides, I don't do videos, i'm not a director or video producer. I use iMovie and a JVC Everio lol

  • not that people will use them a lot still, but it is still cool to know that that computer will run great 10 years form now, mby a little slower then some at the current time but it will still kick ass.

  • dude u need to get a tri pod man lol

  • what about the money? ... xD

you hace lots of pcs and macs, havent you? xD

  • Very nice video there bro. Just for the fact you took it apart (like a real tech dude should) and put the cam inside, I have to subscribe! Lol. Btw... As far as recording goes, what part is so demanding that you need all this hardware? Is it the mix-down? (excuse my ignorance) I do photography so audio is not my thing. Thanks again.

  • @TheScaryfluff A lot of the 64bit plug-ins and my DAW take up so much ram during heavy orchestral scores. 32gigs goes by quickly

  • Is there a optical audio input for surround sound?

I NEED TO KNOW... Nice video btw,

  • @BobDolman Thanks for your comments. There is Optical Out on the back. I Have the logitech Z-5500 connected through Optical Cable right now to give me full surround sound. Downside is when you plug in to the optical port, you can not control the volume through the Mac Volume Button on the Keyboard.

  • @ali5baba123 haha No not right now. 12 cores is nice, but there isn't enough jump in technology for me. I'll wait till the next year and see if something more then just 4 more cores comes out

  • I love how the first thing you do with a new Behemoth, is tear it apart :'] a man after my own heart

  • @xdeadstarpsyclonx haha It's the only way to do it!!

  • DAYUM!!!

Buying a new Mac Pro is like buying a new car with a supermodel in the backseat

  • You must do what I do, Audio Engineering. I like your KRKs. I have the VXT6s. I have a Gibson Les Paul just like yours, in black. Wait, yours is a Epiphone Les Paul right? I also see you have the 003 factory + console over there. Are you running Pro Tools HD or LE?

  • i gotta, that is niiiiiiiiiiice

  • nice waste of buck Just compare tech before buying Check out the titanuscomputers, even if you are not a gamer, you get better videocards and sound cards

  • Where you get your silver table from?

  • amazing, but did you pay all this? if so congratulations, hope you didn't steal all of that from your parents

  • @diegoramos27 haha no help from parents, as i've mentioned in past posts, I moved out when I was 17 and bought my own town house close to downtown by the time i was 19. I've supported myself quite well ever since :)

  • let me have something lol jk

  • The Mac Pro is conspicuously absent from the online Apple Store...I smell a 6/12 core hellbeast coming down the pipeline.

  • @tipoomaster You are correct, 12 core's coming out in August

  • wow im so jealous about your speakers! the v8 are stunning

  • @Sytrusze Thanks :D

  • what kind of work do you have?, for all that equipment it must be a really cool job, i´m so jelous, cool thngs bro........... a guy froms mexico city =D, peace out bro =)

  • @bboytricker Thanks guy from Mexico! :D

  • YAWN

  • @DickKnowsBest haha not rich, just comfortable. It was many years of hard work and living the life of a work-a-holic for many years as well. Once I figured out the whole "Do what your love and you'll succeed" and "Work smarter not harder" cliche's then life started getting easier financially. Good Luck!

  • @DickKnowsBest yeah the list is about right, lots invested in to software as well as computers and hard drive backups haha. I'm running four 24" monitors, 3x HP and 1x 24 LED Cinema Display. Having 24" monitors is about as large as I want to go with having 3 in a row. My desk now doesn't support the width of 3x 30" displays unfortunatly haha. I Ultimately want a single 30" as my centre screen and 2x 24" LED Displays off to the side. We'll see

  • @DickKnowsBest Rough estimate, i'd have to say between $40,000 - $50,000 which includes software and furniture

  • you rich luck bastard

  • mac os needs eyefinity :D

  • little trust fund studio g. fat setup

  • Is that a gibson in the background?

  • sweet setup

  • Nice keyboards, speakers, and monitors. :P

  • dumbass

  • Hey man the name of your monitor speaker? How's do you rate it from 1 to 10. I'm just planning to by new one.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @rmmalsloves I'm using both the KRK V8 Series II and the older Yamaha NS10

  • why the fuck do you even need more than 10 GB of RAM???its not like you work for nasa or somoething...like yoiu said you only record so why the fuck do you need so much RAM?

  • Comment removed

  • @Gamer031711 Some of the programs I use are 64bit which makes use of the 32GB in my system. EastWest plug-ins especially with orchestral pieces use up a lot of system memory.

  • @MacUserLogic just please tell me you didn't buy apple's ram...

  • Wait, didn't I see this setup at SoundsOnline forums? :P

  • @starerik haha you are correct. Good Eye

  • what the fuck do you do with all this? i'm also insanely jealous...

  • you have too much money

  • Omg is that a Gibson Les Paul in the backround???

    And 2 mac pros!?!?!?!?!?

U rich bastard u are my idol

  • That is nice..

  • man this is a sweet studio but please ditch the krk's, get the focal CMS or ADAM's. they will make your krk's sound like panasonic. kinda a joke but seriously, sweet setup.

  • Someone must have money to burn to have a couple of these.

  • 32 gigs of ram in one computer and 24 in another must be pretty sick!!

  • y dont u use the 30gb ram from ur old one on this one?

  • They're not compatible with each other. 2008 Mac Pro = 800Mhz dual channel ram. 2009 Mac Pro = 1066Mhz triple channel ram.

  • oh fair enough

  • iPad is being released in April. Just letting you guys know.

  • Dude what do you do to afford all that

  • still waiting for the dam 30" LED display that apple hasn't released yet!!!!!!

  • I too was thinking that a while back then the 27" iMac's came out. for the price of the 27" iMac, you can get a large screen AND a core i7 computer for the price of the 30" Screen if you can sacrifice 3 inches of screen real estate. So basically but a 27" Monitor and get a free computer hahah

  • nah the 27" LED is a glossy finish

I want a 30" Mattie finish!!! LED display from apple!!!

so I can finally run dual 30" screens

Been holding out for one that is the only reason why I haven't yet bought another 30" display

  • ah okay. I used apples Dual 30" LCD for about a year and then moved to the 24" LED Glossy Cinema Display and i'm in love with glossy screens after saying for a few years the Glossy sucks, after spending time in front of them I'll probably never go back haha but each to their own :)

  • if you preconcive, that 6 Bill people on this earth would like to have such equipment...

  • whats your job man?

  • Dude wtf you must be fucking rolling in money!

  • Very nice unboxing!

I'm awaiting the arrival of my first semi-profecinal Mac. I've got a PowerMac G5 Dual 2.5GhZ with 4GB RAM on the way.

I'm looking forward to having it :)

One day I might own one of these..... (He says with doubt) lol

Thanks for posting the video. Enjoy your Mac :)

    Tom

  • which year are you 2005?

  • Why do people always say "Bad Boy" when they ultimately give them a girl name. It don't make sense...

  • @SimplyCarLo lol!

  • I just got a 3.3ghz quad core xeon, 12gb, 640gb Mac pro on ebay for $1000!!!!!

No joke...the lady listed it as a Powermac, but at second look she seen it was a mac pro 2009 version...I cant wait to get it...I'm freaking out right now! Looks awesome...Great vid!!

  • When that comes through, that'll be a pretty sweet grab. Congrats!

  • lmfao what if that thing fell off the chair?

  • @anwachukwu So many people keep watching that part over and over again wanting it to fall lol, I was holding on to it with my left Hand while setting up the camera with the right haha. I wouldn't have fallen, I promise.... *starts to doubt self*

  • lol i didnt Want it to fall. that would have been TRAGIC

  • sweet i ordered one a week ago but for me it was a colosal amout of cash to buy one how much did all that ram and stuff cost i only got a qad cor and 8 gigs of rab but dam 24 gig memory thats sweet

  • @aiden007700 That's awesome. They are a huge investment. If you have a business, you can write it off on your taxes over 5 years I think. It helps save money over all. Well here in Canada anyways.

  • @MacUserLogic hey man I was just suffering when that cpu was resting on the chair... DO NOT DO THAT!

  • Dude, cancel your order if you can!

New Mac Pro coming out this month!!!

  • how would u connect dual monitors to a computer that has one dvi port???? PLZ HELP

  • @owngunz double head to go by Matrox

  • @owngunz u need to get a VGA to DVI converter and VGA to minidisplay port converter to connect 2 monitors to the 2009 mac pro

  • @stickyslide That would work too. I just went and bought 3 video cards instead but really, have a look at the Matrox Double or Tripple Head to go. you only need 1 DVI port and you can run 2 or 3 monitors off of it. Pretty Slick product.

  • wats ur job!! lol

  • this decision and thought is just fucking up my brain lol imac 27 i7 or the mac pro i have a £3500 budget so what do you think i should get i was originally planning to get an imac 27 i7 8gb ram and a base model macbook pro 13 inch should i give up this thought for the mac pro with two quadcore intel xeon 8gb ram 2tb hardrive and the ati radeon 4870

  • @POSHLOVER12 Good Question, what are your plans for your computer? for the average user i would say 27" iMac i7 + 13" MacBook Pro sounds like a great option overall. for a power user who spends most of his time in one place, then go 8core Mac pro

  • im planning to use the 27" imac to edit videos and i will be using garageband and the macbook pro to use it around the house at night maybe and play some games i spend hours on my computer and because its a crappy hp it does get hot so i would want a machine that could perform well in editing and also gaming and would not burn lol im willing to give up the portability factor to get that performance but is it worth it should i wait incase apple release another model or just buy it now

  • @POSHLOVER12 I'd wait to see what apple has in store for 2010 before making any major purchases. Lots of talk about an i9 chip and so on. Stay tuned to apple over the coming months and see which route you want to go with.

  • thanks great idea thx for helping me out and answering my questions ill wait a few months and ill see what happens :P

  • That's great man, much props to you. Haters are so envious!

  • @TripleMFilmWork haha thanks man, Haters just seem to be part of the game. they're always going to hate on someone lol

  • I love how you just leave that thing sitting there on the office chair LOL!

  • @lordofthespoons123 haha it was all good

  • WTF!?!

    does he shit money?? xD

  • @Nippesmeister he shits money and then he wipes his ass with them...:P

  • @Nippesmeister thats why he buys shit

  • wow im really impressed!!!

  • Pro Tools run as hell on ur Studio!!, Congratz, nice hardware!!!

  • @avansc

WTF is it any of your business what he does with he's money?

He wants to waste 40K on hardware?

    Good for him.

I will go buy a Ferrari tomorrow and smash it in a wall you got a problem with that?

You can't afford 40K on hardware? that means your family is dumb and was not capable of making money lol.

    Moron.

  • idiot much?

  • nice studio

  • donate one of those to the poor... ME!

  • where do you get the money?? rich folks?

i mean if what you say is true thats close to 40k there.

just irresponsible to invest that much in hardware for what you do. there is no reason to have 32gb of memory.

ps: im computer scientist and a mac owner. so im not talking out of ignorance, nor am i bashing mac.

  • Avansc: To answer your questions my folks arn't rich, I surpassed their combined income when i was 22yr old. I got into Real Estate and the money from my assets pays me quite well. so combined with music and another side job where I work, I come out okay. In life there is always reasons behind everything.

  • oh yeah haha PS: I'm also a high school drop out haha its funny i know but its true. Congrats on becoming a computer Scientist. What exactly does a Computer Scientist do?

  • make the software that you use. as well as all other software.

ps: was also curious, how does a high school dropout gets the capital to invest in real estate to turn it around.

anyways, id love to have that system you have, but its sooo overkill. thats a server, and is capable of providing numerous services to multiple users. there is almost no way that you can sensibly utilize all that.

  • now that u have 2 mac pros i'd really love to hear some sick tunes of yours.

I have Athlon XP 3200 (32 bit) with 1 gb of ram and still was able to make some crazy tracks, I can imagine what u can do with your babies!

  • not every mac user is a video editor. he is obviously in music production dumbass

  • i left my mac pro on all night and it got frozen so every time i try to go to mobile me it freezez please help

  • wow, all my replies totally screwed up and just labled them all as comments.... hmmmm.. sorry guys

  • lol my investments pay for my studio so i'm always in the positive

  • can i have your old mac pro ? :D

  • haha

  • im thinking about getting this mac pro for my studio, but i like being mobile and bring my work around my house. should i use a macbook pro. is there a difference in performance or anything ? its going to be used for photography and music production. please reply to this and help me out.

  • for you, go with the MacBook Pro. to get great performance, get 8 gigs of ram and a 256gig SSD Hard Drive. you'll be laughing because that machine will our perform most computers on the market today and its mobile.

  • Don't get me started on macs and how much of a naive person it takes to buy this overpriced thing. It doesn't take much knowledge to build or buy a PC and save thousands of dollars when it comes to buying computers for 10 grand. Unless you're doing tasks involving quantum physics on that thing It's a huge waste of money.

  • whatup mang. I hope you've considered utilizing an Apogee Symphony system to link ur units via S-Bus. You'd benefit from silumtaneous editing/tracking/and writing with vst's galore.

  • Considered but not where i want to go right now. I'm waiting to see whats in store for DigiDesign (Avid) in 2010. Big things are brewing with the change over from HD systems coming along. New processor chips, new technology. its going to be huge.

  • 24 GB ram I cant believe it

  • I Can lol :D

  • I might be getting one for my studio soon

  • Congratulations man! Nice computer! My dad has one, except older. And I have an aluminum 24" iMac :D

  • 24" iMac is nice, i'm wanting to try out the new quad core 27" iMac for the office. we'll see what 2010 brings for us

  • wat do you do for a lving?

  • Besides the music I grow assets with in real estate and minimize my liabilities.

  • man u almost had a heart attack

  • I love how, when people unbox Mac Pros, the first thing they do is take the computer apart. xD

  • it's the curiosity of how it's perfectly put together. I didn't boot mine up for 2 hours after unboxiing it.

  • Ya see! PC's are just not good at music stuff. Macs are best for music! And this guy probably made money from recording people or selling his own music!

  • I started out on a PC did my first 2 years on Windows based applications and found i was spending more time fixing errors then i was recording. Now all you PC people who are going to hate on me for this probably don't have the cash to move to mac so you gotta back your PC world with out ever giving mac a chance hahaha

  • dud ur rich

    apple is the best

  • wow. 24 GB of ram? man i know u have to edit music but i dont think u need this much. lol am getting one when i have the money. and you have 2? wow. i have a dell E310 with 2 Gb ram and a single core processor that's really annoying me. but your is great. nice choice man!

  • But like for Movie Editing it would be a huge help.

  • holy fuck 32gigs of ram thats alot of money

  • and a lot of power

  • ikea desk right? ;) i also have it :D

  • Sweet!! yeah totally an Ikea desk.

  • That is a rich bitch!

  • i just got 512 mb ram (i know man ... ma pc is 5 years old ^^)

  • i feel you pain. am running on a 5 year old computer also. its getting annoying

  • trust me, when the day comes and the money's there, try going with an apple product, you wont be sorry. I Do feel your pain though, I started on a 4 year old PC

  • Holy fuck 12 gigs of ram ?

Holy fuck i just got 1 gig ^^

  • lol only 1 gig

  • you people see the guitar, nice desk, the TWO MAC PROS PROLLY OVER $15,000 DOLLARS, the two pianos, jeesus, this guys rich compared to me :(

  • I may have more money then you, but if you invest correctly, and make sacrifices along the way you'll get here.

  • Do you use Fibre Channel between your 2 Mac Pro's?

  • hehe, sell me your old mac pro! ;p

  • this is one rich kid

  • Kid? I doubt he's a kid to be playing around with $15000 computers. Haha

  • atleast he's fucking rich lol. Damnit dual 30 inch displays and another mac pro.

  • lol 26 to be exact still a kid at heart!! :P

  • Very nice! and it's nice knowing you actually use yours. I have the new one too, and all these cores are going to waste! The most demanding thing I do is world of warcraft. lol. However, I'm hoping some of these productivity softwares that require long processing times can start to utilize the 64bit.

  • haha enjoy the system, it'll last you for quite some time!!
