Obvious Mario knockoff is obvious. And yes there was a lawsuit started by Nintendo over this back when the original Giana Sisters game came out on the Commodore 64. This "Return" one is just a fan game based on the Giana Sisters game. So the game in this video is literally a game that's a ripoff of a ripoff.

This is quite an early version. The currently released lates version (v0.97) is far better (musics replaced, maps enchanted and mostly debugged now)

I'm sorry for saying this, but the music is so depressing...why not orientate a little bit on the original score. All such melancholic disharmonic tunes...The original was funky and melodic.

You'll sure not dizzy (why is it not happened to me?). This is a retro style game, so we do not set multiple background layers and such hightech features ;)

chiptunes are not everyones taste, that doesn't mean the music is "terrible" at all...

The thing is, the chiptune itself is quite awful. Arpeggios are probably pulled out of the hat and the lead melody isn't catchy at all.

Maybe the organizer will set this vertical scroller as option. Let's see...

Yeah maybe the background needs to be a bit fainter/hazier than the foreground too.

it's just a matter of getting used to it. probably the first few games it will disturb, later on it wont.

I agree that the up/down scrolling is a bit annoying. It doesn't really add to the realism or sense of perspective either, in my opinion. Only if the foreground was also scrolling up and down a little. Otherwise it's looking good!

it wont have any fancy new powers, just the good old power ups you know from the original. but we plan to add by far more cheat options (if you can find them).
