  • yeah these little machines are tanks! Mine still kicking after long time. My brothers had been eaten by two rottweilers lol and still runs mint!!

  • Is your MacBook the unibody? Mine's started making a noise and it's only 6 months old :( What should I do? Would it void my warranty if I replaced it myself?

  • @LostSoul887 I believe you void the warranty if you even see the inside of ur mac lol. You need have it sent in and replaced. Def should be under warranty. Goodluck

  • @xGURICAx Thanks mate, I'm gonna pop to the Apple store and let them sort it out for me, just annoying as my nearest store is about 40 miles from me lol. Cheers dude!

  • @xGURICAx believe me, I opened up most of my macs (this kind of macbook white, and 2010 macbook pro) to change the ram, upgrade with my own hdd and when I got problem with my keyboard, they changed the whole topcase for free.

Well I swap to the standard hdd and ram just in case, but point is they won't know, unlike other manufacturer they don't stick any "warranty void if seal is broken" sticker on each screw.

  • That's a sound of a broken bearing. I just ordered a replacement fan this morning.

  • needs a nre fan

  • I have the same darn problem and I think it's because of dust...

  • Will Apple or best buy cover any of the cost?

  • I have the same exact problem. Can someone post a fix to this?

  • @Devigili22

To fix this problem a new fan is needed...

  • strange but macs r awesome that is ur mac and is a rare occurince

  • and people say mac is better than windows... >_>

  • I solved the problem with five dollars: I don't care about my macbook, I leave it everywhere and it still works (I have had three pc noteboook and they stopped working after one year of working). My macbook is three years aged and still works perfectly so my experience is positive.

  • oh thats pretty good. hey btw, all my work with windows...could I transfer that stuff over to a mac? seems like it wouldnt all work..

and even if I did put windows on a mac (not sure if thats even going to be stable)...err..would it be stable at all and wouldnt it still run like a mac?

  • @subtenko PC users says that Windows is better than Mac OS. Mac people says the opposite. Im a mac user, and i love Mac OS X. Thats my excperience.

  • I think both are equal. The only reason why mac sucks (or could suck for people) is it has less support, and its overpriced

People switch from mac for a few reasons

    1.try something different

    2. Think its more powerful (not really the case because pcs can be more powerful than macs and cost the same)

    3. Bandwagon

    4. think its sooo important to be safer for viruses only ignorant people get their pc's screwed up (unless its a faulty product)

so yea...no real reason that the mac is better..

  • and btw, if you like the look and feel of the Mac OS X, you can do that on PC, LOL I see windows has more customization and I like that about windows too.

dont get me wrong, im not sayin I wouldnt buy a mac...id buy windows b4 it.. or at least consider windows b4 it. Plus vista wasnt bad like everyone made it to be, which is what mac trys to say all the time with their over used commercials. they need to stop bashing windows ALL THE TIME, if they wanna be taken seriously

  • @subtenko there wrong

  • @TheMacSecrets im tellin u......

  • @subtenko ok

  • @subtenko

We say that mac osX is better than windows not the computers macbook/pro imac etc.

you know a mac is harware mac osx is software a acer is hardware windows is software.

  • @pioneerz450 well yea I know yall mainly say its software or what it can do but still, Im seen windows machines do what macs can do and some even better. really the line has blurred between the two for the most part at least. Macs shouldn't be as expensive as they are.

  • @subtenko because it is? i've gone through so many windows laptops -_- but my mac has lasted me 4 years already with no problems at all except the fan after having it for 4 years.

  • my compaq laptop did that... IT STILL DOES!!!!

  • I replaced it buying a replacement fan on ebay and now is all working well

  • there may be something stuck in it

  • Hi, how did u solved it? Its funny cause my macbook is doing the exact same noise so its was a fan chorus. Really, how you did it?

  • contact apple

  • the macbook is 2 years old..... do i have a possibility that they will repair it for free?

  • yes

  • @andry123456 i've had mine for 4

  • the fan now's working well........ what a luck....
