@MustangCobra22 the gt500 has more horsepower, about 20-30 more, but the corvette doesn't. In 2012 the GT-R puts out 530hp while the z06 puts out about 505. The thing about both is that they both have trouble put the power down to the ground. That is where the GT-R's AWD drivetrain comes in. That is why when you see a corvette or a mustang start there is always a bit of wheel spin. That is also why while the GT-R 0-60 time is about 2.8 sec while the corvette and gt500 have trouble get under 4.

@MrFunnyTV101 the turbos actually boost the cubic inches of air close to or more then 7 liters, its the same theory as the terminator with a 4.6 liter and a 2.8 liter whipple. With the addition of F.I. it raises the cubic inches of air.
Its hard to compare the Z06 to the GTR... The Z06 is a TRUE MUSCLE CAR... That means NO POWER ADDERS. The GTR has stock turbos... The GTR is AWD and will almost always win off the line, Z06 is RWD. These two would never race in the same class. It's not fair to say the Z06 is inferior because the areas it has the advantage are not measured in this race.

@itssimpleiwinyoulose more horsepower doesn't mean anything. judging by what you said by that , it means you don't know science. it's about grip,downforce, weight, and torque. hp means top speed(varies)plus it's about the grip.the lower weight helps alot. the corvette zo6 handles better by .04g. this test on motortrends site explains it all.the gtr got 1.47g while the zo6 got 1.51g. yea it's a little faster in the 1/4 mile but that all changes with a good driver. and the zo6 is better on track.

Its hard to compare the Z06 to the GTR... The Z06 is a TRUE MUSCLE CAR... That means NO POWER ADDERS. The GTR has stock turbos... The GTR is AWD and will almost always win off the line, Z06 is RWD. These two would never race in the same class. It's not fair to say the Z06 is inferior because the areas it has the advantage are not measured in this race.

I think it's funny that Motor Trend picked the highest-opted Z06, considering that the base (without all the giant wheels, body work, and fancy interior) is faster in a 1/4 mile and decided to do a 1/4 mile drag. @eustaketraista I was going to say something similar about the displacement differences. 7.0 vs. 3.8 getting close to the same hp is impressive no matter how it's argued which is better. The GTR is just WAY ahead in that respect. It would also appear the more logical buy for the money. You'd have to just be foolish in a way to want the z06 over the GTR. What does it offer, really? It's bordering being a ZR1 with the same wheels and trim ect. but still, not quite, lol. Give me the GTR anyday.

And just to set the record straight I would take a Civic over any American car simple for the fact that I know it will last. I owned an old '92 Civic that I put well over 400,000KM (250k miles) and all it ever needed was the typical oil, timing belt and so on change. Was always fun to pass brand new mustangs and vettes broke down on the side of the road. Now old school American trucks those are reliable as fuck, they don't build em like they used to in the US.
