  • Two all-time loves of my life : Miss Arlene and Miss Carol - Love love love and LOL

  • What an awesome woman.

  • Carol is wonderful. Loved her show.

  • she is the best at this!

  • I love her hairstyle it's so adorable, luv Carol

  • Was this from the 60s?

  • Bennett Cerf thought that Carol was Ginger Rogers at the beginning. I can see why because in one of her apperances on the show she used a really high pitched voice to disguise her regular voice. Carol is so funny though! Love them both!

  • She pulled her ear <3

  • Carol is hysterical, thank you for posting

  • So good !!!

  • I bet it would have been a lot of fun to work with Carol Burnett.

  • @cheeriosinabowl --- probably still is.

  • I fucking bloody love this show !

  • Anyone else notice that when she 1st sits down she tugs on her ear? The same thing that she did at the end of every one of her shows as a signal to her mother <3

  • @orhugs Signal to her grandmother :)

  • lol that was funny go carol

  • Carol has such a nice smile, reflects her wonderful talent and personality.

  • It's a shame the panel show format fell out of favor. I'm addicted to some of the ones from the U.K.

  • They always make me smile, despite the fact I don't know anyone in the panel...

  • It would be nice to get the date / year of these shows.

  • they thought she was lucille ball. hahaha.

    Carol Burnett is amazing.

  • hey its sue sylvesters mom

  • You don't see this level of properness in todays society, much less on TV like this.

  • You start watching all these 'What's My Line'

shows and one can't stop I wish they would play all the old stuff on TV

  • @phil123711 Me too

  • @phil123711 Never could understand what Garry Moore's appeal was but he was all over television back in those days. Arthur Godfrey, on the other hand, mesmerizes me somehow and I could watch footage from his career all day any day. And you're right, when you see one of these episodes, you have to see them all, like reading one of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels.

  • This must have been when she was on the Broadway stage with either "Once Upon a Mattress" or on the Garry Moore Show!

  • her facial expressions are fantastic. i never knew she was so talented and hysterical.

  • How old is carol here?

  • @NadiaBKat167 as old as a cock

  • @astrolifter but older than her teeth

    ]

  • @NadiaBKat167 She was 28.

  • Comment removed

  • @tryithere stfu, he made the show

  • This show is more addictive than most illegal drugs.

  • @MattTheSaiyan You got that right!! Its the first thing I turn on on YT!!

  • She's brilliant as usual.

  • She was just in town here in Minneapolis last month. I work at a condo which has a restaurant inside and she came in for dinner. I wasn't working at the time but when I came in later the talk was what a sweet person she is.

  • Carol's famous "ear-tug" was a message to her grandmother who raised her to let her (grandmother) know that she (Carol) was doing well and that she loved her. That's so cool. I love that.

  • Wow! she looks so much like Vicky Lawrence.

  • AND...I LOVE Bennet Cerf....

  • she's so beautiful

  • I love how in almost all these clips the celebrity guest seems nervous/uncomfortable in the start..but then as the questions proceed they get more comfortable and seem to enjoy it. (of course its all ego based so who wouldnt enjoy it). : D

  • ..bennet surf was such oa old fart...!

  • God, Burnett was cute verging on beautiful before she had her face butchered in order to be pretty.

  • carol is a jem!!

  • Oh, I LOVE Carol Burnett!!! I have been a huge fan all my life. I remember watching her show on my grandparents' TV when I was a toddler!

  • God damn she's halarious!

  • Oh yes, you're right! Thank you so much, Duke535!

  • I had the pleasure of recently writing something for her. Talk about an honor. I'm somewhat surprised that she didn't give the camera an earlobe tug. Guess she started that when she landed her on show. Love you, Ms. Burnett.

  • @eheaven3 she did, at :27

  • Yeah, thanks. Caught it on second viewing. She loved her grandma (Mae Eudora Jones White) who passed on in '67—but the tug continues on even today.

  • She tugged her ear when she first sat down.

  • LOVE Carol!!

  • ok but wasnt the question asked are you related to any one on this panel asked earlier?

  • Is it just me or does Bennet rarely listen to the answers given? "are you related to me or my family?" Jeez!!!

  • It's a reference to Ginger Rogers- who he was related to by marriage.

  • As she so often demonstrated on WML, Arlene had a remarkable ear for mystery guest voices -- uncanny at times.

  • Shes so funny! Love her!

  • ooooooh, I love Carol.

  • She kind of reminds me of Ellen DeGeneres.

  • AND doesn't Carol sort of look like Leslie Caron?

  • Is she wearing duckies?

  • Wonderful guess by Arlene! I love how she guessed Carol...and the look on Dorothy's face after Carol greeted Arlene...Priceless!

  • She is such a funny girl! LOVE HER! BTW who is the blonde lady who guessed...

  • so this was before the Carol Burnett Show!

    Weird..............

  • Carol Burnett got her start on the Gary Moore Show in the Late 50's or 60's

  • ya it's just funny to see her soooo young! to me she looks totally different! but i love her either way

  • I am so hot for Bennett Cerf! Have any of you read his book, "At Random"? He's just so charming and adorable. So smart and urbane! I'm hooked on watching these videos on youtube because those idiots at Game Show Network cancelled them! Has anyone seen the one right after Dorothy Kilgallen died? I want to see that one. She died mysteriously and was somewhat connected to the Kennedy assassination! MORE BENNETT!

  • It wasn't Kilgallen that "mysteriously died,' just after JFK's death, it was Jacqueline Susann, author of "Valley of the Dolls"

  • uh...Jacqueline Susann died in 1974. Kennedy was dead for 3 years before she even wrote Valley of the Dolls.

  • It's interesting that she was already so well known at this early time, before she had her own TV show.

  • These are the kind of people you would like to invite into your home for a warm, fun, witty evening.

  • Wonderful clips. Carol Burnett is possibly one of the most naturally funny and charming people ever to grace a screen. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • I enjoy these clips so much

  • The Yesss gave her away.

  • Carol Burnett = genius

  • jesus, these things are addictive

  • OH MY CRAP YES

  • i'm english and only know about three quarters of the ppl yet im addicted

  • I know, It's the middle of the night and I've watched about 9 of them so far.

  • Same here!

  • @maddymud they totally are! I've watched them for hours before.

  • @maddymud No kidding!

  • @maddymud agreed ive been sitting here watching it for hours

  • @maddymud OMG! I was just thinking that! This is like the 50th one I've watched in a row!

  • @maddymud

yea i should be finished with my homework and studying by now enjoying a good sleep.

  • Thanks, I adore Carol Burnett! Does anyone know from what year this is?

  • 1960.

  • Thanks!

  • Are there any clips of Carol Burnett on the Gary Moore show? Can't seem to find any on YouTube (and I'm too young to have seen orginal)

  • Carol was such fun on the Garry Moore show. I didn't get to see many of the shows (it was on at 10PM and I had to be ready for high school by 7AM..but I remember how much fun the skits were -- espec. when they spoofed old movies. Thanks for posting this delightful clip. Carol is one of a kind!

  • haha, Cerf thought it was Ginger Rogers!

  • i absolutely adore her, what a lovely and talented lady lucy ball loved her as well so really says something!

  • I love Carol! A very gifted actress and comedienne!

  • Yes, i missed it when her show went off the air in the seventies--such a great show and cast.

  • I love the last part when the one lady wants Carol to speak in her own voice.

    =)

  • Get this: Carol gets the most howls, Lucy gets the loudest applause of all by both sexes, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford get the most whistles, and Judy Garland gets the most male YELLS. lol

  • What fun to see Carol Burnett early in her career when she was still on Garry Moore's program. Loved that squeaky disguise!

  • At the very end Dorothy Kilgallen looks genuinely upset when Carol B. gives Arlene Francis a kiss, I guess because she didn't get one

  • Actually, if you watch again, Bennett Cerf says something to her right at the same time and shes just reacting to what he said.

  • I see what you are saying after watching again, but still I think maybe she was also reacting to the Arlene embrace, if just light-heartedly.

  • Great!!

    Thanks for posting!!

    a CB fan...

  • Live TV May 1961 Thanx for posting.

  • I've always wondered how you can move clockwise

when the panel is seated in a row.

  • Because it includes John and the audience in a circle.

  • Thanks. Now it makes sense.

  • Great , smart response.
