I hadn't heard of this song. Just looked it up, written with Van Dyke Parks. I'm glad that the backing vocals are all Brian, I prefer the sound when it's just him and not the Wondermints.
i totally love animals and seeing this movie made me cry by 2040 all ice could be gone and it is all our fault there's these wonderful creatures in this world and we are just going to through that away like its nothing its not fair!!!
Satellite analysis from the University of Illinois Arctic Climate Research Center now shows there was no cause for concern as sea ice levels rebounded at near record levels and in fact returned to levels not seen in almost 30 years. Each year with the change of seasons the amount of sea ice fluctuates as it melts and refreezes. Colder temperatures invaded the region and winds that hamper ice growth have been lower thus allowing sea ice to return to 1979 levels. (Denver Weather Examiner 1/9/09)
I like the version of this song on Brian's CD that Lucky Old Sun, but this is really awesome! Such an important message to get out there re: global warming and the need to protect our sea life.
Excactly. And why can't the Republicans understand how serious this entire crisis is? Makes me want to switch to the Democrat Party. In fact, I'm more than willing to do so.
This video perfectly shows that every life is sacred. We should and we can have a more caring attitude towards all living things around us. We don't own the world, we share it!!!
On Dec. 27, 07 it was reported that thousands of young Pacific walruses like the ones in this video were trampled to death in the Arctic last summer by adult walruses rushing to get into the water, due to fast-melting sea ice. This year northern sea ice retreated farther and faster than ever before in recorded history. The climate, it is a-changing, and not for the better.
And the part of the earth where global warming is experienced most is the Arctic. I live there. This is such a brilliant video clip, not to mention Mr. Wilson's absolutely beautiful music! "Your heart beats with mine; our hearts beat in time." Breathtaking!

Gosh was that BWilson...sounded like a garage band...he's slipped a long ways. What a crock. Wa, wa. I'm more concerned about the intellectual environment. This is all conjecture and hypothesis from the tree huggers.

I've got a grip, it's the tree huggers that are slipping. Wait and watch...real scientific data will prevail. And TanteA...I miss Brian Wilson's falsetto as well.
Now that's the attitude we all should have. Science usually prevails but not always in our lifetime. Just like climatology spans hundreds of thousands of years and exerts a formidible force upon our planet. That is if politicians and money-grubbing grant perrogatives can stay out of the mix.
Just as it's easy for present-day global warming fanatics to predict the future with off the wall computer scenarios, so I will also predict that a thousand years from now, they will be laughing and conjuring up Chicken Little...the sky is falling, the sky is falling.
Not many people or the right people are honored anymore. I don't consider Whoopie Goldberg, Jonathon Winters, Diana Ross, or Carl Reiner worthy of that much attention. And that include Brian Wilson.
gosh... funny -reading your comment I realize that you are not even worthy of having people read your comment and here you are mocking a genius and musical icon. HAHAHAH.

You have the right to your opinion. However, we will let the scientist decide if this is all conjecture and opinion.
Brian Wilson still has it, and always will. Not many people are honored at The Kennedy Center and he is one.

Who's Carl Reiner? Don't you mean Rob Reiner?
ascrodin 3 years ago
Carl is Rob's father and actually was more famous than Rob. Massively talented Hollywood talent in the 1950's and up to the 1980's

One of his best songs in years. Even at the age of 65, he is an amazing genius. There is no composer like him.
