  • RIP Hero!

  • this was my friends grandpa. I actually met him a couple times before he died, may he rest in peace. He was an amaizing man

  • :.( i salute you

  • i couldn't understand him. :( can someone explain to me what he did

  • He was a medic who saved a lot of men. He was also shot a couple times

  • How could anyone dislike this? They must not have a heart or soul

  • memoirs like these should be required viewing in jr. high! we need men like this today!

  • i basicaly live rright next to where he lived in utah!!!

  • God bless you George and thank-you. Im a Navy submarine vet of the Vietnam Era.

Im so glad we have people like you workinbg for the Vets!!!!!!

  • Thanks, George.

  • every soldier past and present is a hero.oorah

  • This man is one of many of the WWII heroes, God Bless George and all of the other WWII heroes. Every WWII soldier is a heroe.

  • Its sad that after almost 3 years and this only has 5000 views.

Whats even worse is that if you type in "Medal Of Honor" and 90% of what you get are videos about a stupid video game.

These people are heroes of a caliber you and I will never know.

    God bless all of them.

  • I agree with you godbless these people i cant believe you cant find hero's stories over a fucking game

  • Agreed. These are real, American heroes. God bless the brave men and women who serve our country.

  • May Major Wahlen, and all those who fough, and died on Iwo Jima, may they RIP.

  • These types of heroes, without a doubt, deserve far more than the $1,027.00 per month that they are given. But ask any single one of them... they'll all say that all they ask in return is a simple thank you, and that they would do it all over again just to save lives. Now that's what real heroes are made of. (Just don't call them a hero to their face, you might offend them.)

  • George never liked the hero role. He knew that he was a figurehead representing all veterans, and so he put up with it. He will be missed.

  • May you rest in peace brother.

  • Rest in peace.

  • I hope these guys get massive retirement checks.. this guy should get like 10k a month for his service.

  • I agree! But the only get a chep medal for their sacrafice! May they get more.

  • that is a medal of honor worth

i have big respect for you

  • this is a real hero

  • I live on the big island. :)

  • no wayyyyyy

  • They don't make 'em like this guy anymore.

  • I agree! These kinda men is what this country is missing. My husband is active duty military, with the Navy. He even says sometimes that if he had comrades like this serving with him, he wouldn't hesitate giving his life for them. Unfortunately, you're right, they don't come like this anymore.

  • The Japs were told to kill the Medics, they said Marines will sacrafice 10 men to save a medic.

  • great video. He is a true hero. I feel safe knowing that my country has men and women like him fighting for us.

  • Noble man.

  • Sempi fi to this hero.

  • hero real hero

  • Every man that stepped foot on Iwo Jima is a hero

  • @dinahthecat very true

  • A true hero. I'm a foreigner, and we need these guys more. We need heroes.

  • George Wahlen is a legitimate hero. Thanks to him (and everyone else who serve in the military) we're still speaking English.
