The new SONY VPL VW85 is the current CR king now with an iris system thats unoticable and far more refined and better colours than both the 550 and the 950 JVCs..
I also find Sonys motion handling excellent..which JVC has now copied and is NOT quite as smooth.
There is also farrrrr more to a picture than a high CR figure..that is but one facet..though i realise the naieve are buying on that number alone..shame..
You are assuming that the jvcs are better than the Sony, when the vpl vw60 was sold,in my view it was a better all round picture than the available jvc models.
I sell both jvc and sony, the current Sony VPL VW85 is definately better than the 550 and the 950...overall.
Maybe not a popularist view, but then most ridiculously pro jvc views havent compared to the Sony models on multiple occasions..as i have.
The jvcs are smashing projectors but not the best out there!
interesting you decided to go with th vpl 60 instead of the JVC DLA lineup projectors sure they are more expensive but by 2008 prices on the RS1 would have been comparable to that of the Sony anyway nice job on everything
The anamorphic lens is miles better i assure you, zooming is used by Panny on their lens memory on the 3000..ive compared both..HUGE difference with a prismasonic...
No,the guy that owns this setup is a satelite installer, you dont have to be rich now to have a great setup, what is key is the right advice and a tailored system for your room and budget.
I gotta M209x Dell projector and a 120" screen but I keep getting this halo around the screen when the lights are off.....any ideas how to resolve this?
Why didn't you choice for a electric screen solution? The way your plasma disappears is great, but i think the static screen mounted on the wall would drive me nuts after a while......
lmao great setup. i only think the TV goes up way too slow, i wouldnt have the patience. plus that tv is too small for a slow pull-up, u need something bigger than it ll look kool
You shouldn't record video on Night mode, it slow down the Frame to capture more light. Also keep a eye out for law suite for the movie you just show:( I had few people whose got sued for show a few second video on youtube.
men the Picture quality on the big screen looks like crap

I would love to see Superman The Movie on that screen or Back To The Future. That would be excellently cool! :D

You can bring all 16:9 material up to 2:35:1 if you want and most blockbusters are 2:35:1.
There us obviously other kit unseen the projector, the anamorphic lens etc..
Setups can range from about 8-9k upwards..

The screen is a special screen...:-)..but i cant divulge too much ..only the air is free..:-)

Oh yeah what screen, and what size? From your other video it looks like the screen is dark grey.

Nice twist having the TV hide away. Would you care sharing how much this setup costs?
Do you use masking for 16.:9 material on that 2.35:1 screen?

I know,The idea is to show the install
